Summary: If you love the Beatles, you'll have a ball with this one!
Review: This film is a real gem because of it's great animation. I've seen the restored version you're about to view and you never heard and saw The Beatles and Yellow Submarine like this time. The restoration work is simply out of this world, it sounds and it looks like it was filmed today. It has great scenes, specially the newly added scene of "Hey Bulldog", recently discovered. The sound it's truly amazing, with Dolby Surround 5.1 and all the songs have been edited, remixed and remastered using 20-bit technology. Without any question, this item is a must have!Don't miss it this time!

Summary: Favorite of my dad and myself for years!
Review: After finding this movie gone from video stores about ten to 15 years ago, I was slightly miffed... The last video store in town to have it in stock finally closed down last year, so the re-release of Yellow Submarine couldn't come at a better time!

I've been in love with this movie ever since I started watching movies. Lots of memories attached with it for me... It is easily my all time favorite movie. As for why they took it off the shelves at all is obvious: Disney takes their 'Classics' off the shelves to build up anticipation for the re-released version, the Beatles, or Apple, or whoever owns the rights, did it to revamp the movie and build up massive anticipation in the Beatles Fan Ranks... Well done, too, might I add... Thank Goddess its finally released!

Summary: Magical, hilarious, innovative, heartwarming
Review: This movie is truly a miracle of fantasy and music. As ingenious as it is entertaining, it truly transports the viewer to a place only The Beatles seemed capable of taking us to--a wonderful, irreverent, and inspiring place where it always feels good to be alive. The music blends perfectly with the wit and action to create a timeless journey that touches the heart as it tickles the soul.

Summary: fantastic colour animation. Great british humor
Review: I think any one will enjoy the movie. there are several fantastic asoects of the movie: The animation. I was taken aback with all the colors ever changing. I liked the dialogue although it is a bit tough to understand every british line, with the accent I mean.Great story line as well

Summary: Great Film!
Review: "Yellow Submarine" is easily the second best--and second trippiest--animated film of the '60's after "A Boy Named Charlie Brown." A pure delight from start to finish.

Summary: Great movie, Great Music
Review: I love this movie! The music was great! and Lucy in the Sky is not about a nanny, its about a picture drawn by John Lennons son. He said it was a picture of Lucy in the Sky.....with Diamonds.

Summary: Like a fine wine, improves with age...
Review: I watched this on laserdisc last night for the first time in about 3 years, and it holds up remarkably well. Even my 11-year old son was caught up in it watching it for the first time (he snuck out of bed when he heard the title song...)

While George Harrison's songs are (apologetically) throw-aways, the Lennon-McCartney songs fare well, and the cut-out quality of the story animation is balanced out by the superb animation of the musical numbers.

While the dialogue is sparse and droll, it is full of wonderfully bad puns ('Liverpool can be a lonely place on a Saturday night...and this is only Thursday morning!'; 'I haven't laughed so much since Pompeill'; 'Pepperland! A bit salty around here, gents...'; etc.)

I am curious to see how the DVD looks and sounds newly remastered, but it will devalue my laserdisc (collectors have paid up to $300) to about $10...!

Summary: Its back and better than ever with NEW old footage!
Review: Its back and if you have seen it on video in the last twenty years...you havent seen it like this...first of all the digital transfer is OUTSTANDING! Not to mention the new mixes of old Beatles Favorites...and the long lost footage which includes Hey Bulldog is truly a gem! We are talking clean imaging and clear digital sound. A spendid time is guaranteed for all...

Summary: As Good As Any Disney Film
Review: If you ask my children, 12 and 8, what are their favorite movies, they'll say, "Wizard of Oz" and "Yellow Submarine." Why the Beatles have kept it from the video store shelves for years escapes me. I saw it first as a teenager when it came out, and showed it to my first child when she was two. Now we watch it at least twice a year, only on rainy nights when we need a lift. The animation, the art, the songs, the goofy jokes, and the fact it's so different from every other film made for kids, have made it our perennial favorite. Our cats are named Max (after the No. Two Blue Meanie) and Jeremy (after Jeremy Hillary Boob, Phd.), nicknamed Booboo. We're looking forward to seeing the "Hey, Bulldog" sequence restored, and regret only we won't be able to see it on the big screen. One complaint: the cd will be reissued with other Beatles cuts, leaving out George Martin's terrific orchestral music, which was on the original soundtrack album.

Summary: Beatle magic touches movies even when they're hardly in them
Review: THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES OF ALL TIME! I think it is, actually. My local video store had an OOOOOLLLLLLLDDDDD copy that suddenly died a year after I discovered and it drove me mad! I was going into "Yellow Submarine" withdrawal, but I was ecstatic when I found out it was being rereleased! It's not Casablanca, admittedly, but it's fabulous fun anyway. I LOVE! the "Eleanor Rigby" sequence, and Jeremy Hillary Boob (Ph.D)'s comment when the Beatles first meet him sums me up perfectly: "If I spoke prose, you'd all find out/I don't know what I talk about!" Also, for those who like Monty Python--I highly doubt that Terry Gilliam could've got most of his inspiration from anywhere but this film. It's visual candy for anybody! I'm first in line come September 14th!
