Summary: Unique
Review: Lots already said about this; won't belabor too long, but WOW--our 4-year-old LOVES this tape (He is now a Beatle fan), and it's one video I don't think parents would get sick of watching again and again. The bare-bones story is: The happy people of Pepperland are besieged by the music-hating Blue Meanies (their attacks turn people grey, statue-like, and silent)--the lone escapee (Young/Old Fred, depending on who's speaking) recruits the Beatles to save the day, who of course do so with lots of music and LOVE (all you need). An excuse to pair a lot of unique psychedelic hodgepodge animation with tons of Beatle tunes--almost like a tape full of music videos, just a lot more creative! The Beatles (actually, their "incredible simulators") crack wise throughout with lots of wordplay, and a lot of heart. An actual cameo from the group at the end--nice to see. There seems to be such good will between them, it's hard to believe they would shortly be at each other's throats. Excellent stuff.

Review: The Amazon.com description of this Movie implies that it stars the Beatles. Not only aren't the Beatles in this movie (really it's a cartoon), neither are their voices (Actors portray the four Mop-tops). The only real Beatles you'll find in this movie are in the wonderful music.

Summary: A wonderful movie
Review: I saw this in the movies when I was 5 years old, and I still love it,I love every part, the new Hey Bulldog sequence really added zest to the storyline,(which it needed badly) the only bad thing about this movie is that it gives refrence to an acid trip, and shows a part where John,Paul,George, and Ringo are running around like maniacs with lots of colors all around them,(Harrison runs on top of a rainbow and looks very stoned) still a great movie, buy it , it is worth every penny!

Summary: OK, for 8yrs old & up
Review: Now the Beatles were & are great. This movie isn't that great. It is very colorful as an animation movie mixed with their music, however, some parts of the movie seem to wonder off the story and could be hard for some to follow. It was a pretty cool movie in the 70's, especially being one of the first of its kind. As an adult, I prefer "THE WALL" animated movie.

Summary: A Classic!
Review: Love this movie to pieces! Saw it when I was a kid ( unfortunately not in theaters, but first video release :-( ) Being into animation, the quality dazzles me! Such a fine job in an era where computers weren't around. The story is cute, one can't help but laugh at the Blue Meanies and Jeremy. You also cannot help but sing along to the songs too! Some may find this movie boring (my sis does), but others will love it to death (like me!) I suggest renting it first, unless you're a Beatles fan, where this video is a must-have!

Summary: Really fun
Review: This is great to watch, and I like the "new" "Hey Bulldog" sequence. George Harrison discusses the new sequence, and a lot more about "Yellow Submarine," in a fascinating interview at www.billboard.com/sr/beatles/beatlesinterview.html

Summary: Great enhancements
Review: I saw this movie in theater when I was a kid and it was safe to say I loved it. When I saw it again recently, I wondered if I would love it as an adult. Safe to say, the answer is yes.

I recently compared an old video copy of Yellow Submarine and this newer version and let me tell you that the differences are amazing. The colors jump out at you and the animation is much crisper. The same goes for the sound and great songs. If you have surround sound, this will be an amazing treat for you as you'll hear the flying glove zooming by you from all directions. It is also intriguing to hear the Beatles songs in such a format as well with it's newly remastered sound.

This version also includes the deleted scenes featuring Lennon's song, "Hey Bulldog." All of these new additions/enhancements make this a must buy whatever your age. If you have an old version of Yellow Submarine, keep it as a collectible but definitely buy this as a complement to that. You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Welcome back from litigation limbo
Review: It was years since I saw it on the big screen, and I couldn't help but wonder why I couldn't find it when "Hard Day's Night", "Help" and even "Magical Mystery Tour" was easy to find. Even though mired in "litigation limbo", that may have been a blessing considering the great restoration now available. But is it really the Beatles? The music, yes. Everything else, no. But it is still a fun movie, in a campy sort of way, visually exciting, and the music is awesome in Dolby Digital 5.1!

Summary: FABulous music, visually stimulating, but tedious.
Review: I first saw the film when I was 6 or 7 years old, and the story seemed lame then. I recently watched it with approximately 200 undergraduate students, and found myself in the position of defending it. Problem is, I hated it also. (With the exception of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds") Loved the music, always have, but a bit disappointed that they abridged the tunes. Somehow the theme that loves conquers all, what the world needs is love to solve its problems is a bit lame. The fact that the Beatles themselves did not partcipate in the making of this mess except to make an appearance at the end says much. This is not a Beatles movie, they did not even do the voices for their animated cardboard characterizations. This is escapism at its worst.

Summary: The Sea of Green
Review: When I was younger I used to watch this title millions of times, day after day, month after month; i guess there was a sort of strange connection between me and this movie. I loved the clever dialogue, the cut-and-paste like animation, and the positive theme. This is one of those movies that gets to your heart and stays with you. With such great characters and hilarious dialogue, I recommend this to anyone who likes to watch good movies.
