Rating: Summary: Simply Stunning Review: I'll say it again, this movie is stunning. Danny Elfman's music (and vocal) is brilliant, the models are fabulous, the story delightful.Although I was nervous about showing it to my five year old kids (the bits with Mr Oogy Boogey coming apart, in particular), they loved it. This is a must-see movie.
Rating: Summary: A great collection of features! Review: The movie in itself is wonderful, but we can not forget the excellent special features. From the creation of the movie to Tim Burtons shorts: Frankenweenie and Vincent, this DVD is a must have for stop animation lovers (or just anyone who enjoyed the movie)!

Rating: Summary: Enjoyable Holiday Dark Comedy Review: Tim Burton's hilarious, artistic dark comedy "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is entirely filmed in claymation and released in 1991. It is now on DVD and as good as it was when it was first released. Tim Burton's magic is present in every scene. The dark comedy is set to the haunting, beautiful music of Danny Elfman, who has collaborated with Tim Burton before (Edward Scissorhands). Tim Burton's comedic take on Christmas, with a macabre twist, and memorable characters, makes this a very timeless classic. The story is about Jack Skeleton, a skeletal resident of Halloween Town who accidentally stumbles into Christmas Town. Here, he abducts Santa Claus and decides that this year, Christmas will be very different. Taking up Santa's role, he readies reindeer (his dog) and brings uncommon gifts to children. For example, he sends them decapitated heads and ghoulish creations that are more suited to Halloween. The laughs and situations are all very apt, well written and the claymation very incredible. This is a must have for fans of Tim Burton, for fans of great animated or claymated comedy. The DVD has new features, such as new scenes, and other enhancements that make this experience all the more exciting and artistic.
Rating: Summary: I Hate All Of You Review: I hate everyone who said this movie [stank] because it was SCARY! I watched when I was seven or so and I wasn't scared, nor was I last year when I borrowed it from a friend. It had aweful music, a [silly] plot, and [bad] voice acting. I had no idea the stitch-girl thing was talking. I thought she was just making a mumbling noise. Also, for all the people who said Santa got 'tortured,' please define the word torture. When I think of torture, I think of bleeding and screaming and death, not rubbing a feather to someones foot. I hated the Batman movies. I loathed Edward Scissor-Hands. I abhored the Nightmare Before Christmas. If you have an ounce of intellegence in your brain, then use it to NOT buy-or watch-this movie. In fact, find the nearest store with a copy of this movie and run, not walk, but RUN in the opposite direction.
Rating: Summary: #1 FAN OF THIS MOVIE! SEE WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!!! Review: If I could rate this movie more than 5 star- I would! I have cherished this movie ever since the age of 4. I was not a particularly tough or hard-to-scare kid, but I knew that "The Nightmare Before Christmas" wasn't the least bit scary. You may have heard the this is not a children's movie-IT CERTAINLY IS! It is whimsical, comical at times, and a great movie to put on for your kids while they play in their playrooom. It is not referred to very often as a musical, but it is. There are songs in practically every scene, and each lyric holds special meaning, that would make you want to say out loud, "I know just how you feel!"-whether the song is sharing Jack's longing for something new, or Jack's merry interest for Christmas. I guarentee that this movie is 100% fabulous. Even though believe I am this movie's number one fan, you can ask anyone else who isn't as obsessed with it if they liked the movie, and that person will most likely remember their first time watching it, and give you a fond smile, and nod 'yes.'
Rating: Summary: An Instant Classic Review: I love this movie. I remember back when I was 5 when I first watched it. The title seems to be misleading to some people, but it isn't really what the title seems to persume. It's not scary; I was afraid of skellitons when I was little, Jack was the only skelliton I wasn't afraid of. There's no blood or gore AT ALL in the movie. It's awsome. All the characters are awsome and friendly (aside from Oggie Boogie, but that's a givin since he is the villan of the movie). Awsome music. Danny Elfman really out-did himself when comming up with the movie. Awsome storyline. Tim Burton is a genious. Original storyline and unforgetable creativity. There's no violents, but there is action of course. If you're just cerious about the movie itself, here's a lil' summery. Okay, you got this skelliton in a tux like outfit named Jack. Now Jack is the Pumpkin King, able to scare anyone out of their wits. Now being the best and doing the same things over and over again can get boring, so Jack looks for something new. He ends up finding out about Christmas and loves it to pieces. He even goes as far as trying to do Christmas himself. Some things end up getting Santa Claus (funny thing is that Jack always pronouces it 'Sandy Claws') ending up in Oggie Boogies clutches, and Christmas is going all wrong. I won't revile the end, cuz that always takes the fun out of movies ;) It's a great movie for the whole family. I suggest you at least renting it and getting a look at one of Tim's greatest creations.
Rating: Summary: Watch it in French! Review: It's been said more eloquently by others that this movie is simply magical. Detailed, intricate and whimsical animation combined with a just-twisted-enough fairy tale plot. One of my favorite inclusions in the SE DVD is the foreign language track. The French voice acting is superb, for those who like to mix it up a little. Jack and Sally's voices are smooth and sweet and the songs work just as well (sometimes even better!) in French. But even if you don't like that, all the other goodies on the disk are well worth it.
Rating: Summary: See this movie Review: If you haven't seen it yet, you are missing the only film in it's genre. There isn't anything else like it. This is one of my all-time favorites, and my two year old daughter's as well. Truly a movie for all ages. I absolutely love Danny Elfman's songs in this film - haunting, yet empathic. This movie is not as boisterous as Beetlejuice, but is more subtle in it's message, like Edward Scissorhands. Kids will love the fun characters and music; as an adult I love the artistic rendering that has been given to the set, characters, and music. Where stop-motion animation is concerned, it is, technically, by far the best ever made to date. The movement is very fluid, not at all like the Christmas classics I grew up with. I am surprised by how many people I have met who have never seen this movie- in our household, it is not only a semi-annual tradition (shown on both Hallowe'en and Christmas) but is also a day-to-day favorite, good for viewing anytime you want to watch a fun film. This DVD edition contains more worthwhile extras than almost any other DVD I've ever owned, including great short films, documentaries and commentaries.
Rating: Summary: Great DVD Review: Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are genius. This movie is probably my favorite all time movie, the special edition dvd is loaded with tons of extra features. it has a some behind the stop motion animation type of things and also has 2 of Burton's earlier works: Vincent and Frankenweenie. Of coarse the movie itself is great also... no need to say that.
