Review: I have a lot of respect for Tim Burton--Ed Wood and Sleepy Hollow are excellent movies--but this movie is too much. I love the dark tone and the animation technology is fantastic, but ultimately the incessant, insectoid, half-chanted musical numbers concocted by Elfman drive me up the goddamn wall. Five minutes in and I was turned off. Possibly the most irritating musical I've ever seen. Too bad there wasn't more straight acting, so to speak. Elfman has done fine work in other films, but I don't like this.

Summary: A very haunted love tale.
Review: I wouldnt recomand this movie for little kids because they might have nightmares. This movie has everything little children are scared of when the go to bed (Monsters under the bed, Scary shadows, etc). What makes the movie lightened up is the love connection between Jack the pupkin king and Sally, the girl who constantly sews herself together. If you love love stories this is one for you. The love in here is just sick and twisted.

Review: Oh my gosh I love the Nightmare Before Christmas. I mean who doesn't honestly. I saw it when I was really really little and I have remembered it ever since then. This is such a classic. It's pure genius. Pure pure genius. Actually I was just watching it at my friend's house(she loves it so much she knows the words to the songs!) This is practically the only movie I love (besides Gremlins) that younger kids can watch. I don't (and this is purely honest) know anyone who has seen this movie and doesn't love it. If you mention the Nightmare Before Christmas at school everybody is like " Yeah nightmare before christmas" which is pretty funny because my class is mostly jocks and preppies. The movie's concept and animation and music is just great. But if the younger kid you're gonna show this to has trouble distinguishing what's on TV from what's real do not show this to them. Only drawback. Otherwise you should get the whole family together and watch this awesome classic!
Ps: Forgot to say my band is named The Nightmares, after this movie!!

Review: My Mom got me this movie when I was about 7 years old. And right
from the begining I hated it. If you have even a little bit of
sence you would NEVER EVER buy this movie, or even watch it.
It runend the way I though about Christmas and Halloween. So for
the sake of yourself and your kids DO NOT buy or watch this movie.If I could I've give it no stars at all.

Summary: Tim Burton is a genius
Review: Man o man. Tim Burton is the best. He makes the coolest movies and this is one of them. I own and love this movie. It's about a skellington named Jack Skellington. He is the Pumpkin Kig of Halloween town. Everyone loves him but he starts to get sick of Halloween. He wants some thing new and wonderful. One day he was walking aimlessly in the woods and came to a circle of trees with different holiday doors on them. He opens the Christmas door and and lands in Christmas. He loves it and decides to make a Christmas of his own. It doesn't exactly turn out as he planned and everything goes wrong. You have to see it yourself its an amazing movie.

Summary: Scary, fun, and funny!
Review: This is a good movie. I've always loved it, ever since I was a child! There are no really scary parts that younger children can't see, and is a good family film. There is about 4 hours worth of extra fun on the DVD, aboat the making of the film, cut scenes, Tim's earlier films, Frankenweenie and Vincint, and much more. I would recomend this DVD to anyone. Well worth the money.

Summary: One of my favorite films.
Review: I have long appreciated stop-motion animation. Since childhood, Christmastime was the best time of year. Not because of the gifts and festivities, but because that is the only time when network television would air the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials. Tim Burton's work on "Nightmare" brought back the giddiness I felt as a child. The direction is flawless, but if not for Danny Elfman's composing, I am not sure this would be the same film. My 2 year old son loves this film, and can sing bits of "What's This", as it is his favorite song. I recommend this film to everyone, from 2 to 92. My son had no problems with this film, although I do know some older children who were less than impressed.

Summary: One of My Daughter's and My Favorites!
Review: Danny Elfman and Tim Burton are both absolute geniuses, a fact that will be apparent to all who see this film. As far as parents who may be concerend about showing this film to their children, this has been one of my five-year-old daughter's top choices since she was two or three years old! To adults, the characters may at first glance seem a little creepy for young viewers, but I think children are more likely to see them as wonderfully strange and fascinating monsters, especially since their personalities make them all seem more silly than scary. The storyline is also quite appropriate for children, as it conveys important messages regarding self-acceptance, friendship, and learning to appreciate the things you have rather than wanting what belongs to others. My daughter loves the music too, and we have both enjoyed the soundtrack and the film many times over the years. Very highly recommended for animation and fantasy enthusiasts of all ages!

Review: I loved this movie since its theatrical release. Stop-motion animation at its best, but not for small children. It is a shame that no other movie based on the Tim Burtom drawings and poems has not been made yet.

Summary: Fantastic, wonderful, and moving...
Review: I've not seen this movie in a very long time, and it wasn't until just recently that I revisited it. The Nightmare Before Christmas' title sounds like something from a horror movie, but it certainly isn't one. Sure, everything looks grim and creepy, but that's just the setting. The story of Jack Skellington feeling as if everything is a routine for him and wants to experience something different was kinda touching, as is with the songs he sings to himself in the film. The music is creepy at times and is beautiful when needed, and it's all composed by Danny Elfman; who in turn also wrote the songs, and does Jack Skellington's voice. TNMBC was skillfully animated, using the stop-motion style, which most likely took them quite a while to finish. The end product looks pretty good too, especially for a movie released back in '91. Tim Burton has always been one of my favorite directors, and this film didn't let me down. Not only did it bring back some nice childhood memories, but it also made me feel good in the process. Those parents who aren't sure of showing this film to their kids because it may scare them, at least consider that the movie has NO violence either than a stitched-up lady jumping from a building, but she doesn't get harmed as she puts herself back together. If your kids can handle the creepy looking monsters and creatures, by all means let them watch this movie. They most likely will never forget it.
