Rating: Summary: Antz rocked Review: Gotta tell everyone clear and right out: ANTZ ROCKED! I know its not exactly for children and all, but it's about time i saw some real action and less friggen' song! My advice to parents: Take your kids to Disney, cause Dreamworks is a bit to sofisticated for another "Bugs Life" tale. I really loved the fact that this animated movie was so much more adult then a dancing disney flick. I'm really just tired of all the songs, the happyness, everything! I thought I was walking into a kid flick at first, but man was I ever surprised! This movie is great for any of you people loving adult humor, and action packed graphics. If your under eight, just don't see it! (Even though my bro and his friend who are like 5 and 6 loved it) and if your a parent, dont be so overprotective! SHEESSHH!!! You guys get one "Hell" in a movie and you run away. Did anyone notice we are in the 90's? well, I am, and I'm always going to have ANTZ up front and center as one of my favorite movies!
Rating: Summary: Amazing technical achievement Review: What a great movie. The texture and color of this film are spectacular. I felt myself getting lost in the animation, at times feeling that it was puppets or actors instead of animation. There of course is a lot of comparisons being made about Antz & A Bugs Life. The best way to put it is: Antz=Movie ABL=Cartoon This is of course simplified, but it is really to the point. From what I understand the video release is pretty poor quality. The nature of video in general makes for poor quality. The DVD on the otherhand would make an excellent addition to anybodies collection.
Rating: Summary: Passable... barely Review: Let me preface by saying that I'm a big Woody Allen fan... love his films, love his style. That said, I did *not* like Antz. It may be that my view is tainted by SKG's out-and-out robbery of the primary idea from Bug's Life, the lackluster 'off-the-shelf' feel to the animation, but even then, I didn't care for the story itself. I certainly wouldn't bring a child to see it - far too grim with very little life in it. In short, I see it this way: Jeffrey Katzenberg left Disney while Bug's Life was already in production. He started up SKG and before you knew what'd happened, they had a production for computer animated film about ants. What an amazing parallel. Additionally, they slated theirs to open mere weeks before Bug's Life. They used off-the-shelf software for the animation so they could meet an accelerated production schedule(and it shows) and paid big bucks for high-profile voice actors to contribute to box office draw (Katzenberg likely knew the voice actors for Bug's Life at that point, also, and knew they weren't "big" names). "Antz" isn't terrible; it just ain't "Bug's Life".
Rating: Summary: Good but not for really young children Review: Antz had everything that it was supposed to and some things it wasn't. Young children may not understand the sophisticated humor, and there are some frightening scenes. This movie is best for children 8 years and above and adults. I reallly love ANTZ.
Rating: Summary: horrible, boring, too much bad language, this is for kids Review: i thought that this movie was acceptionally bad. First of all i found it to be very boring and uninteresting. The plot wasnt that great either . second of all this movie is mainly made for children and there are many parts where there is bad language involved in this movie which upsets me greatly. i am sorry that i bought it.
Rating: Summary: ENTERTAINING FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY Review: WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO RENT THIS MOVIE, AFTER MY DAUGHTERS INSISTANCE TO SEE IT. WE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THE MOVIE. Z WAS TYPICAL WOODY ALLEN. AND IT WAS FUN TO TRY TO RECOGNIZE THE VOICES OF THE OTHER ANTS. IT'LL BE NEXT ON OUR SHOPPING LIST.
Rating: Summary: Too Graphic for Young Children Review: The movie had a good story but was not intended for young children as it would appear from the previews.
Rating: Summary: An entertaining film--but not so perfect for small children. Review: Antz had an all star cast and was very entertaining. I liked the plot, but found the war scenes with violent termites and the occasional swearing not very suitable for small children.
Rating: Summary: Good but not great Review: Antz is good but Bugs's Life is better
