Rating: Summary: A kids movie even a mom loves Review: My two sons, ages 2 and 1, are true Blue fans. This video will keep them enthralled for the full 1 hour 15 minute running time. The music is superb and for best quality I do recommend it on DVD. Ray Charles is fantasic as GClef and Steven Burns does a phenominal job per usual. We will miss you Steve!
Rating: Summary: My kids love it! Review: I have a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. My eldest just can't get tired of watching this musical video. He asks me to watch it several times a day and the little one joins in the fun by watching it too. I highly recomend it for Blue's clues lovers.
Rating: Summary: Blue' s Clues Musical is a hit! Review: My boys (ages 2 and 3 years) love this video. Within days of watching the video they were singing the songs, dancing and talking about it. We had to buy the cd and we have it on all the time. I even find myself singing the songs as well. This video is very entertaining and there is alot going on in it as Steve and the friends get ready for the show. It is definately a big hit in my house!
Rating: Summary: fun for all ages Review: My 21 month old is glued to the television as soon as he hears the opening music for Blue's Clues. This movie is no different (regardless of the additional length). The great thing about the movie is that as he gets older, there are more difficult concepts and problem solving for him to interact with. As for the additional features on the DVD, the look behind Blue's Clues is a must see for all parents (who are as addicted as their children).
Rating: Summary: Laughier and Loonier than the TV episodes Review: This movie is a full-length production, basically remaining true to the TV show, but in an expanded format. The plot centers around the Blue's Clues cast prepare a musical production. In many ways this adaptation of TV show also follows the rhythm of a 'real' musical. The score is quite diverse in musical style, with lots of choruses with the whole cast joining in. Even my infant daughter joined in her sister's delight over this one (which she doesn't share on the 'regular' TV show episodes). There is a great segment on composing and reading musical notes including rhythm, tone, etc. I rather expected my 4 y. o. daughter to start fidgeting during this part, but she was transfixed and understood the basic concepts right away. Whatever Steve & Blue's appeal is to toddlers & pre-schoolers - maybe just the pure silliness - it is upped exponentially in this movie. From Mom's perspective it has tremendous educational and entertainment appeal - true to and leveraging the basics of the TV episodes. A definite MUST HAVE for Blues' fans!
Rating: Summary: Great DVD ! Review: My 2 1/2 year old son is a fanatic Blue's Clues fan and he loved this movie as any other VHS tapes he owns. I, being a computer artist, loved it even more. The colors and the sharpness of the characters were outstanding. As a matter of fact, the images were so sharp, I could see the not-so-perfect compositing artistic errors on Steve's outline, which is something I could not pick up on VHS tapes. The extra features of the DVD are worth the money themselves. Great DVD for the money!
Rating: Summary: If you even remotely like Blue's Clues you will LOVE this... Review: DVD. It is simply fantastic and works on so many different toddler age levels. The spectrum of fun and learning ranges from the basics like playing Blue's Clues to discover who Blue wants to sing with her to higher order thinking like learning about how to compose a song with the help of G Clef (voiced by Ray Charles)and the notes (voiced by The Persuasions). Toddlers can learn about themes such as inclusion, cooperation, compromise, shyness, and self confidence. I was very pleasantly surprsied at how enjoyable this show was and even more pleased to find my 2 1/2 year old singing "be-bop-bay" to himself to learn musical notes. I am highly recommending this to my friends and any fans of Blue and Steve.
Rating: Summary: Best Soundtrack Ever !!! Review: Rarely have I come across a children's album that is as much for the parent / adult as it is for the kids. Blue's Big Musical Movie Soundtrack has really taken me by surprise. This is a very sophisticated record with broad mix of musical genres - these lively, sweet and sometimes wonderfully silly tunes combine jazz, bossa nova, latin, rock-a-billy and soul influences into an album that rocks. The lyrics are obviously for kids - but also for all you parents out there like me. This is the kind of album that parents like listening to, which is a good thing since my 4 year old just wants to play it over and over again!
Rating: Summary: The best Blues Clues yet Review: My kids love this DVD! Very well done. We even liked the section for the adults about the behind the scenes of blues clues. The music is awesome, and a great job done by Ray Charles. We have played this DVD 3xs a day. KUDOS to the blues clues staff. When are you going to come out with another one?
Rating: Summary: Better than Banana Cookies Review: I rented this for my toddler expecting to dislike it, but the songs are infinitely hummable and enough is going on to put this one step ahead of the normal TV episode. Plus, my three year old loved it.
