Summary: What were they thinking?
Review: Robert Lewis Stevenson would be turning over in his grave if he knew what they did to his beloved story classic. It's really that bad.

Why would they take a time honored literary classic and make it into a hokey sci-fi cartoon? Why? Because that's what Disney does. Disney has done some splendid work on classic tales in the past but on this one, they bombed.

It's just downright awful. There's no soul to this story...

Move along, there's nothing to see here.

Review: Disney is BRILLIANT I tell you!! I'm 13 and 3/4ths and I thought the movie was GREAT!!! I saw the movie in theatres and I was talking about it for days on end!! I ate, slept, and breathed "Treasure Planet"!!! I can't get over how simply amazing it was. The graphics are amazing, the character design is amazing, (I did notice that Jim's scar often switches from cheek to cheek though.) The voices are amazing, the plot is amazing, the music is amazing... IT'S ALL AMAZING!!! And I love the emotion involved. There were a few times I caught myself on the verge of tears. I was a little disapointed that there wasn't much romance, if any at all, but it is a little kids movie so I didn't really expect it... 5 stars!!! BRILLIANT!!! ^^

Summary: Treasure Planet
Review: I loved it!!! A very enjoyable and entertaining movie. I knew as soon as I left the theater that I would be buying the DVD as soon as it came out. As a 30-something year old mother of two young boys (ages 5 & 3), I wasn't so sure that I would like the movie, but any doubts were soon put to rest. We viewed the movie on an IMAX screen and the effects were mesmerizing. My five year old son especially liked the movie, with the pirate theme and the adventure-filled story.

Summary: Treasure Planet - WOW !!!
Review: Listen up folks!

Treasure Planet is one of the best animation movies ever produced. It was pure fun to watch! It has action, adventure and great music. Lilo and Stitch was rude and insulting for younger kids to watch. **Treasure Planet is not.**

I saw it with my boys (4 and 7) at an IMAX type theater, and we had a great time!

THIS IS A MUST SEE MOVIE!

Summary: What a fun time this film is, but for grownup children only!
Review: Treasure Planet is supposedly based on Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. The animated movie was more specifically similar to Terry Brooks' trilogy about the Voyage of the Jerle Shannara. The special effects bring this book to life, as does the important "lost" treasure which, when found, proved useless because it is antiquated. In Brooks' story, the forbidden treasure was all the words in the language changed into a computer system which became outdated and was totally lost as all the books had been destroyed.

The creatures are reminiscent of those seen in the bar of the first Star Wars movie. The action is what you'd expect if a movie were made of the Brooks' trilogy, the flights and fighting scenes with dangerous pitfalls.

Not much of Stevenson's book written so long ago is in this modern sci-fi parody. Be sure to observe the four babies at the end: the future of our world?

Summary: it's a shame...
Review: I saw the box office reports on this movie. It's depressing to know that this was a flop. Sure, Jim Hawkins isn't a guy in red-and-blue swinging through New York City. He doesn't bear the much sought after "Ring of Power." He's not a wizard-in-training (thank goodness). No, instead Disney has created a down-to-earth teen with many family problems and other issues (I wonder how many teens today can relate to this). This is top-notch story-telling! I wanted to see the movie because of John Rzeznik's "Im Still Here," and my desire to see it increased after a friend of mine was talking about it. So that night I saw it, only to find myself blown away by how well Disney made this movie that I started telling everyone about it. This is Disney's best movie in a long, long, long time (since probably Lion King)!!! If you missed your chance to see it on the screen, wait til it hits video and DVD!

Summary: TreasurePlanet- I want it!
Review: Just like the title I want the movie Treasure Planet, and even though it is diffrent frrom other dianey movies, like everything's good,it turns bad and then good agian. Treaure Planet is diffrent, and thats what I like. The beggining is a bit scary, but the whole movie is action packed, it had emotion and it makes you feel as you leave the theater your happy! Summary: Excellent Animated movie!
Review: Despite being a flop, this movie works well as a very entertaining animated sci-fi epic from Disney, this is a futuristic re-telling of the Louis Stevenson tale of Pirates and bucceeners seeking treasure. This tells about a young hooligan named " Jim Hawking" ( no relation to the one from " Outlaw Star") goes on a journey with a dog-like professor, a Cyborg, a Sexy Cat-like alien captain and a entire crew to seek a planet of Treasure called " Treasure Planet".

Very entertaining and fun movie, worth watching again and again.

Also recommended: Star Wars, Total Recall, Lord of the Rings ( Animated), Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, Ghost in the Shell, Atlantis, Lilo and Stitch, The Goonies, The Princess Bride, Lost in Space, The Fifth Element, Attack of the Clones, The Phantom Menace, Aliens, Titan A.E. and Transformers: The movie.

Summary: Walt Would Be Proud!
Review: Walt Disney was fascinated with the story of Treasure Planet and had actually opted to do it as the first full length animated film. He then realized it didn't need to be animated and did Snow White. He kept thinking about a way to do Treasure Island as an animated movie and eventually made it as the studios first live action film. Now, the Disney team has come up with a brilliant way to do it as an animated film. They set it in space and it is my favorite film version of Treasure Island. I know it did horribly at the theaters, but so did Cinderella and look at how well known that is. You will love Treasure Planet if you liked the book or the live action version. The best part would have to be B.E.N, a crazy robot on Treasure Planet who is clearly missing a few pieces and is voiced by Martin Short. Plus the ending was so cool and original! Definately not the typical cute musicle Disney is known for doing in the past.
