Summary: Eddie Murphy steals the show!
Review: Mulan is one of the finest offerings from Disney in years. Eddie Murphy as Mushu is worth the purchase price all alone. This much better than some recent Disney efforts (such as Hercules). Also, the sweep of the movie is spectacular. But the highlight is Murphy who is in top form as a wisecracking dragon. His performance rivals that of Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin. This may not be up with some of the classic Disneys but it certainly comes close.

Mulan, You go girl!

Summary: Overall a Excellent Movie
Review: Mulan Overall was a excellent movie and I prefered the ending to the normal Disney, they kiss and live happily ever after stuff. I speak Mandarin and I didn't like her being called "Fa" Mulan, a Mandarin person wuld call it "Hua" Mulan meaning flower. Please! Not every Chinese person is Cantonese. I am offended that way. And when she had her first day of training, bacon and sunnyside-up eggs are not what the Chinese eat, it is Western. How does she jump high enough to get on the roof to escape from Shan Yu? Is it all the adrenalin? Mushu was a nice addition making it funny but "Bessie", the name refering to Khan, was wayyyy after the Huns attacking and Mulan.

Review: This movie gets better every time you watch it. I have seen it several times with my daughter and we love it. The songs and animation are great. Eddie Murphy is terrific as Mushu, very, very funny. This story is very interesting and very exciting. I can't wait to watch it again.

Summary: One of the Best Disney's Out There
Review: I think Mulan was a wonderful movie. I loved the songs, especially "My Reflection" or whatever it was called. I plan to buy it soon and watch it many times. Mushu was an awesome addition, and I found him very hilarious. Everything was great except for the little unrealistic part when the Huns come back to life after the avalanche. (Now reallly?) But all in all, Mulan was a fabulous story to keep the Disney tradition alive.

Summary: Best movie I've seen in years.
Review: Funny, emotionally touching. Multifaceted animation

Summary: A perfect delight.
Review: Mulan has restored my faith in Disney's ability to produce wonderful animation when they pour a sincere effort into it.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame was an abysmal piece of trash, and Hercules I steered clear of after seeing the commercials. I had little hope for this endeavor (Mulan), expecting Disney to rip the guts from the story and replace it with their usual 'good over comes evil' recipe. However, despite the fact they took precious little from the "Ballad of Mulan", I believe that Disney did make an effort to keep the emotional heart of the story, and did succeed in producing an enjoyable and entertaining film.

A great deal of creative license was taken (much the same as with Pocohontas) and the subplots are somewhat incomplete, but Mulan's strong points are greater than the sum of it's weaknesses. The animation is positively beautiful, and the writing has humor that strikes the funny bones of both adults and children. It's worth mentioning that Eddie Murphy, as the voice of "Mushu", does such an outstanding job that he deserves a video all his own. Also, the characters are more realistic in that they fail and make poor decisions as opposed to overcoming odds with a 100% success rate. Historical accuracy may be at a complete minimum, but the effort to maintain an Asian feel allows the movie to retain its charm. Moreover, it is my belief that viewers (the old more so than the young) should know better than to accept any fictional film as pure truth. If one is truly interested, one should read and research more of the subject.

While Mulan may not be a classic in the league of Lady and the Tramp or Beauty and the Beast, it is still an enchanting movie that is a delight to watch... and watch again. I recommend making it an addition to your collection.

Summary: Buy this movie!
Review: This movie is very well done. The animation is by far some of the best to be seen on the big screen in years. The music is very good, too, but the part that I like the best is that the "star" is not a caucasian! My children are adopted from Korea and it's wonderful that they see that courageous and beautiful people come from all over the world!
