Summary: I left bored and apathetic
Review: The story moves forward at a pretty quick clip, unfortunately sacrificing necessary character development along the way. When our hero is ultimately double crossed, I had a hard time caring. It seemed pretty obvious it would happen.

Some beautiful animation along with some not-so beautiful, it didn't make up for the minimal story. And given the number of writers credited, along with the fact that ATLANTIS is strangely similiar to the anime NADIA from 10 years previous, you'd think they'd have that part worked out.

Without ruining it, the end depends on some out-of-left field, unestablished robots, who seem more about being like THE IRON GIANT than staying within story context.

It's been weeks and I still have no idea where that part came from.

All in all, I left mildly bored.

Review: Great movie, loved it!!! My husband and son also loved it so much we saw it three times in two weeks. Can't wait for release on DVD. Dispite what others say the story was great. Disney had a nice spin on the story and it kept the excitement through the whole thing. We loved it, great animation, great characters, great everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Atlantis...Disney goes for the glory!
Review: Im a 19 male just out of high school who went to watch this movie on a first date. Well I haven't seen the girl recently but I have seen the movie 3 times since. It is great. It has a great storyline and each of the characters have there own personalities that really set them out. Everybody is dogging this movie for what it didn't have....they need to notice what it DID have. A great Action-Adventure flik without all the boring, childish songs. It even has a touch of romance in it between Milo(The main character) and Kida (a beautiful Atlantian princess). This movie is great for children, teens, and adults. Its hard to make a movie that will entertain all 3 of those...lets give Disney some credit. Go watch it!!!

Summary: A great departure from the normal
Review: Never before in my life has a movie so tourtured my mind. On one hand we have a brilliant film that is bold and origianal and more mature and has more action then the previous 10 traditionally animated films disny has made. And on the other hand we have a film that goes by at a astonishinly fast rate and has some dissapointing problems. Lets start off with the good. The animation for this movie is well done and interesting. There is a lot of action, subs blowing up, air fights and a huge volcano eruption. The charachters are some of the most...um...unique ever made for a disney movie (It is true that one of them chain smokes but glancing around during the show none of the little kids were shocked or stunned by it) There is even a bit of comedy (Provided by the mole charachter). But know onto the dissapointing parts. I was amazed how fast this film goes by. When I glanced at my watch when milo and the others escaped from the exploding sub I was astonished to see that 32 minutes had passed. That is one of the main problems, this film goes by extreamly fast. I was astonished by how fast the film sped by on how the team had gotten to Atlantis. The biggest problem I have with the film takes place near the very beggining. I am talking about the sub. It is soo cool and one of the collest sights ever made for a disney movie. And yet it is destroyed in less then 6 minutes after you get your first glance of it. I was shocked at how fast it is destroyed. 6 Minutes?! That seems to short for me (Although in the movie they say 6 hours) It seems pretty ironic that over 200 men spent god knows how many years building this huge expensive sub that is packed to the rivit with state of the art equipment and cost more then what Bill Gates makes in 10 years and it is destroyed in 6 minutes. Also later on in the film a charachter is shoved off a ballon and falls 20 storyies to the ground on sharp rocks and amazingly survives (But dies 2 minutes later) I dont know about you but that seems to be streaching the limit a bit. But dont get me wrong, I loved this movie. But with some more time, money and a lot more on how the team got to atlantis it would have been better.

The Good: Great animation, great charachters (especially the mole) lots of action, atlantis is cool.

The bad: not for little kids (Men die) not enough time spent on how the team got to atlantis

And the ugly: why on earth is the sub destroyed in 6 minutes?

Summary: Was This For Kids Or Adults?
Review: This is one of the best animated films for everyone! I was taken to it thinking it would be strictly for kids. While it did have it's dumb little kids comedy moments, it helped bring the characters to life. And the story was excellent! I've always been fascinated with the legend of Atlantis, but this story is original. Milo Thatch is a geek who believes he can find the lost city of Atlantis. When a rich man who knew Milo's father funds his expedition, Milo finds not only that the city exsists, but it's inhabited with people. Atlantis is losing it's power and soon the whole civilization will be wiped out. But with the help of Milo, the only one who can read Atlantian, they might be able to save it. I've always liked the darker Disney films. "The Black Cauldron" is my favorite animated movie, but this comes in second. I haven't heard any complaints about "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" and you'll like wether you are a kid or an adult!

Summary: Atlantis Rises
Review: Atlantis: The Lost Empire, is no ordinary Disney film. The different thing about this film is the fact that it's rated PG and that it's not a musical, in which none of the characters sing. Atlantis was definitely a good film, but it's also suprising because of the fact that there is some what a lot of gun use in the film and some of the subject matter. All in all though "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" is a worth while film.

Summary: WHY ARE PEOPLE COMPLIANING???????????

Summary: Atlantis movie review
Review: Linguist and cartographer Milo Thatch wants to find Atlantis because his grandfather would tell him about it when he was a little boy. A philanthropist gets a crew for him to go down in a submarine and see what they can find of Atlantis. It was pretty cool that they had such a geeky character as the hero of the movie. A positive point, none of the characters break out into cheesy pointless songs. The animation was nicely done. It had a lot of beautiful scenery. On a negative side, there are too many minor characters and they are too underdeveloped for you to feel anything for them and the plot moves too fast at times for a movie for kids. Why set the movie in 1914? There was no point to. The movie should have been told in present time. They had submarines back then but none as complex as the one the crew had and I doubt a doctor back then would have said about a patient just by looking at him, "he has internal bleeding." But then again, Disney told us in Pocahontas that Virginia is an exotic paradise complete with huge waterfalls so Disney movies aren't meant to be believable. I also don't understand why the film was rated PG. There is not a lot of violence in the film and I've seen 'scarier' stuff in past Disney films. When I saw the movie in the theater with my younger brother, it was just parents and their kids. My brother gave this film two thumbs up.

Summary: Just Another Mindless New Disney Flick.
Review: Disney hasn't made a good Disney film since 1996, when they made Toy Story. If you see Atlantis, you better be prepared to not only be bored, but to also see one of the worst Disney films ever. One thing that might hold your attention for a short time, is the plot, which is written well, but way too over-the-top for the young audience. I didn't like how bad the animation was either. They didn't use any techology for this cartoon at all. This is the kind of movie that should be featured on MST3K.

You will want to wait until it comes out on video. It's probably better on the small screen, then the big.

Summary: Not up to par for Disney
Review: I was very disappointed in this movie. It is NOT up to Disney standards. 1)The animation was Television quality. They have gone from exceptional animation quality (from Little Mermaid through Aladdin)to this new straight-line, squared-off. "Anime'" type drawing. It's terrible! 2)Also the story line was violent with too much fighting and warfare, whereas you normally expect jokes and comedy between a main character and his sidekick, from Disney.

Overall, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this Disney movie to anyone, especially young kids.
