Summary: Entertainment- No Way...New Age Conditioning-YES
Review: The reason this movie has been getting so much bad press is because the majority of those who watched it, expected entertaining science fiction. They definitely did not get it. I enjoyed the movie, but not because of its entertainment value or the acting-good or bad- or the script or any of those elements that are usually the criteria used to judge - thumbs up or down. I enjoyed it because it effectively delivered a very clear message to the audience. Even if the message fails to serve any other purpose it definitely does this- it plants a "seed" in the mind of the viewer. A "seed" that is essential in achieving the conditioning of "the masses". The purpose for the conditioning is so that, someday soon, the masses will be psychologically ready and able to accept as ACTUAL HISTORICAL FACT, the things that the message tells us at the climax of the movie (as weak as it may have been portrayed). This conditioning is certainly part of the "Globalist" agenda to bring all of humanity into a "One World View". This movie contributes to that purpose specifically in the area of theology and philosophy which is also destined to merge into a one world religion. To enjoy this movie, it must be viewed with these facts in mind. I do not necesarily agree with the message conveyed, but do see the value of the movie in its ability to plant that "seed" so that when the time comes and world circumstances are ripe, the "seed" can be "cultivated" and a "New Age" Theology can blossum in the minds of the masses. This will undoubtedly give the globalist free reign and ease in the achievement of their agenda for a New World Order. If you are one that is interested in geo-politics and can see where humanity is headed then you'll be able to pick-up on the TRUE value of this movie. Forget about entertainment-it only serves to dull the senses. Buy it or rent it and then REALLY watch it.

Summary: Started out ok, but fell apart...
Review: This movie didn't start out too bad, but just when it started getting interesting, the movie went off and got stupid. I mean, the whole movie was building up to this meeting with the aliens, and well, not to give it away, but I'll just say it's a major letdown.

Go and buy the 2001/2010 series, they're much more interesting!

Summary: You're Kidding, Right?
Review: The only thing more ponderous than the fact that such a hugely cheesy script was ever produced is how Gary Sinise and Tim Robbins were suckered into starring. Does someone have some Polaroids of these two? Have they made some Satanic deal that Old Scratch cruelly twisted into a shadow of their original wish? We may never know.

If you like good special effects, this movie has a few. It also has some stinkers, including a poorly rendered alien and Martian tornados that are bested by the ones in The Wizard of Oz.

If you like good acting, forget it. Even Sinise and Robbins can't salvage this corpse of a script, and a painfully long death sequence for one of the characters is so strewn with drippy sentamentalism you'll find it hard not to become nauseated. BADLY nauseated.

If you like being entertained, this film can't help you. It takes forever for anything to happen, and then when it does finally happen, you'll find it hard to care. Add to this completely unbelievable characters (one, left alone on Mars for many months, has become paranoid and insane, but a few frames after he's found, it's like nothing ever happened) and a script scrawled with dull crayons on wet paper by a mentally deficient four-year-old, and you have a thing put on celluloid so devoid of anything even remotely entertaining, that it might as well be a two-hour long rerun of Punky Brewster.

Not only can't I recommend this film for viewing, I can't even recommend it for duplication to VHS and DVD. Talk about a waste of resources. Trust me, you'd rather cut down a rainforest than waste precious materials on this. Go find a freshly-painted wall to watch dry. You'll get more from it.

This film gets one star only because Amazon won't allow fewer.

Summary: Worthless movie
Review: It had the potential to be a great hit but failed terribly. Don't waste your money on this one.

Summary: Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be!
Review: Why, oh why is this poor film recieving such "bad press"? It really is'nt that bad at all! I feel, in contrast, that films like "Supernova" and "Pitch Black are way over-hyped! If you don't want to buy this DVD, then at least rent it. It is worth a watch. It really does'nt deserve the "lambasting" it's getting!

Summary: Average Space Movie.......
Review: ''Mission To Mars'' is a story about a space crew trying to find life on mars. After most of the crew die [in a CGI sandstorm] only one man [Don Cheadle] remains. In an attempt to rescue him 4 astronauts [Including Gary Sinise and Tim Robbins] are sent to find him but they all find out that we are not alone in the universe....

All in all ''Mission To Mars'' was a bit of a let down although don't let that put you off. There is fun to be had laughing at the cheesy dialogue.Apparantly ''Lets light this candle'' is astronaut talk for lets put on the engines!

Anyway see it if you have to but don't rush.Wait for it on video or dvd

Summary: quite simply, the worst film i have ever seen.
Review: i will make it as clear as possible. If you have 25 dollars to spend, you'd be better off paying someone to kick you in the face. throughout the film, there were moments when i questioned my own existence, wondering how i could be genetically connected to the makers of this film, the most uncreative morons God ever created. If i have saved one person from buying this movie, i will have insured a safe place in heaven. If you want a real compelling sci-fi movie, get 2001.

Summary: Terrible movie
Review: I thought this would be good movie because of the talented cast. It was, however, a sad disappointment.

Summary: Dreary mistake
Review: Awesomely uninteresting misfire about a manned mission to the Angry Red Planet which goes awry, and the subsequent follow-up. Film is loaded with bizarre and idiotic touches -- how is it, for instance, that one key character survived in what amounts to a pup tent on the Martian surface for about a year? Obvious attempts to cash in on the surreal mystery of "2001" fall flat, up to and including the ending, which inspires the comment "What the hell was that all about?" Okay performances throughout, but all are at the mercy of a flat and turgid script. Even Morricone's music is weirdly wrong.
