Summary: AWESOME FOR KIDS...AND ADULTS!
Review: Helen Reddy heads the cast of stars in this magical Disney movie. The first time I saw this movie it became one of my absolute favorites. I don't understand how this didn't become a "Disney Masterpiece"...i mean "Mary Poppins" is on AFI's list of blockbuster movies...i don't see how "Mary Poppins" comes anywhere near to this masterpiece.

First of all...Helen Reddy leads the cast, so you know there is going to be a great vocal performance. It is filled with great songs that I find myself humming and whistling to even now...especially "Candle On The Water" and "There's Room For Everyone In This World".

What I don't get is that there isn't a CD Soundtrack out. I've even looked for it on LP Records and there's only a book with songs...and I have the feeling that they aren't the whole song and that they're not the cast singing them.

WE SHOULD ALL WRITE TO DISNEY AND TELL THEM TO MAKE A SOUNDTRACK.

I love it and kids will love it as well. Don't listen to critics...especially Leonard Maltin...does he like anything? It's a timeless classic.

Review: This is my favorite Disney movie. I remember going to see at the movies and getting the reading record for christmas. This is one of the most over looked Disney's. Nothing beats the "I saw a dragon " scene with Mickey Rooney. Another fun scene is the "I've got a bill of sale right here" that lands all the foster familiy in mud which tickles all the kids I've shared this film with. I tell people don't pay attention to the critics about this one give it a try.

Summary: Pete's Dragon
Review: This is the best movie ever. I am a 20 year old who grew up watching disney films. This one has far surpassed any others (except maybe the little mermaid). The movie is magical and elliot is one of the greatest characters ever created. People of all ages can enjoy this movie.

Summary: A great story
Review: This is a beautifully told story which mixes animation and live action. The songs are great and the emotion between boy and dragon is the winning element - their love is so real. The film is so well transferred to DVD (I have the already released uk version). Sound is great and I totally disagree with the reviewer of this title - the DVD is a strong story with a good measuring of Disney magic. You will not be disappointed - and considering how old it is and how the reviewer doesn't like Disney anyway (see other reviews) you'd best go on people who know - us! It may not be Mary Poppins and lack it's charm and songs, but this is a good film for anyone in the family. NOT a bad buy.

Summary: Soooo Good!
Review: I bought this video for my four year old niece and watched it with her, even though I don't remember it ever being a popular Disney Film. I don't understand why. It was such a wonderful movie. It actually had a plot, real actors, and wonderful music & dance--unlike half the mindless movies made today. Used to be, Disney was unquestionable--if they made the movie, you could trust it to be good for your children. Not so anymore. Disney should go back to more wonderful movies like this one!

By the way, whatever happened to Helen Reddy? She was one of my favorite singers when I was a teenager, and she was fabulous in this movie. She just kind of faded away. Is she still out there?

Summary: One of the BEST
Review: Pete's Dragon is a great movie! I remember watching it over and over again as a child. Even now when I think of "Candle on the Water" I get all choked up and I start to get teary-eyed. If you want your kids to have a great imagination this is the movie to buy!

Summary: One of the best movies of all time
Review: Pete's Dragon was one of the first movies I remember seeing as a kid. It's true that it never became a classic like other Disney movies, but it is one of the best. Filled with memorable characters and songs, it makes for great family viewing. It's length often causes network channels to chop it mercilessly when they show it on television, so investing in the true, whole, uncut version is really the only way to go. I dare you to sit through Helen Reddy's Candle on the Water without getting choked up!

Summary: Eggsellent
Review: I am 21, and this is my favorite Disney flick. And almost my favorite film overall. Its so underrated. The comedy is so classic, like the Gogans beating up each other, or Red Buttons "Don't Roast me", or Doc Terminus' not-so-warm greeting by the townfolk. This movie is so unappreciated. Every time I see it I can't help but sing along. I love all the songs, I couldn't choose my favorite. This is a movie my kids will watch.
