Rating: Summary: WARNING: Should be talked about with PARENTS Review: Folks, in itself this is a good film. BUT, I caution parents to take time with their young ones and affirm the STRANGER DANGER RULE. In the scene, where a six year old daughter seeks to help her mother find "magic" ; she is lured out to a strange man wearing a long coat. In this story, he's an angel. I wish this film was rated for that purpose. I wish the angel flew around or something magical. No such luck. There are a lot of predatory perps out there just looking to cash in on this "angel" suggestion. Shortly after this film came out, I was advised as a pre-school aid to instruct our parents about hazard in this film.
Rating: Summary: A Rare Christmas Find! Review: Having given up on modern day movie makers EVER conveying more than "getting" at Christmas as a theme, I was so awestruck when I stumbled on this movie on TV several years ago. Since then, I have scoured the TV guide for it to come on again-- usually it does, middle of the night'ish. Regardless, it is as great a treasure as the Alistair Sim's version of A Christmas Carol. And the shining star is Harry Dean. What an unlikely hero-angel. BUY this video and keep it. It is consummately worthy of adding to any Christmas film collection.
Rating: Summary: I'm not watching this twice... Review: I bought this movie after reading the other reviews- thinking it would get me in a real christmas spirit. Well, the story is actually quite good -but the acting is really bad! It also seems like a very low budget movie! I give this movie as "much" as 2 stars because I think it could be a very good movie if they used other actors and a bit more "collors"......It is so "grey" I almost thougt I was watching an black&white movie...
Rating: Summary: great movie I love it it has a definite holiday happiness Review: I enjoyed one magic christmas soooo much I watched it as a child and it is sad to see it is no longer being sold :o( It is an enjoyable christmas movie about a fairly poor family whos mother no longer believes in santa. It takes her children to show to her that he really exists. Once again this is an absolutely delightful christmas movie and has wonderful acting.
Rating: Summary: A Yuletide Tradition. Review: I first saw "One Magic Christmas" way back in 1987, and I've seen it at least once every Christmas since then. I rank it right up there with "A Christmas Carol" and "It's A Wonderful Life." as one of the all time great Christmas movies. The cast is just wonderful especially little Elisabeth Harnois who is the sweetest little actress that I've ever seen, and oh so talented. Just looking at her makes me want to get married and have a little girl that looks just like her. I pray that Walt Disney will re-issue this classic very soon. It's nearly impossible to find it now, and it somehow doesn't seem quite like Chistmas without it.
Rating: Summary: Great family movie. Afterall, its Disney! Review: I had the pleasure of seeing this movie on the Disney channel a few weeks ago and loved it! Its a wonderful movie about an angel who helps people care about one another and appreciate the things we have. And of course, get ready for a great ending. Don't miss it this holiday season.
Rating: Summary: #Wonderful Review: I have loved this movie for at least 10 yrs. What a wonderful story of coming to realize what things are important in life. Enjoy
Rating: Summary: Great video for all ages to enjoy!! Review: I have shown this film to a group of detained juveniles. Several were crying before the end. It touched even these youth who have had great difficulties in life. I hope to be able to purchase a copy to share with my grandchildren. Please bring it back. It causes you to reflect on what the season is about.
Rating: Summary: Best Christmas Movie Review: I have to watch this movie every Christmas. I think it's better than "It's A Wonderful Life". Christmas is too commerialized. This movie helps you to remember what is most important to you. You need a box of kleenex since it is a tear jerker!!!! I had taped this movie from t.v. on a VHS tape. It wasn't a good copy. I was happy when I found it at Amazon and bought it.
Rating: Summary: A story for the whole family to enjoy! Review: I love this film! I think that financial and parental obligations can cause Christmas to be a very stressful time for many people. The main character, played by Mary Steenburgen, is a very unhappy person. She is obviously in a rut and the fact that another Christmas is coming, with all that entails, is not helping. This is a great story about seeing what you have, instead of what you don't. It is very emotional, as fairy tales are, and has a wonderful moral. It is heartwarming and appeals to the child in all of us. My family and I watch it every year!
