Rating: Summary: Skip this---go for the gold!!! Review: I can think of only one reason to buy the premiere collection, and that is if you are looking for a little something to entertain the kids with. If this was based on content alone I would give 5 stars, but I can't do that knowing there is something better out there. If you buy the Golden collection, you get everything included here along with 28 more classics and a boatload of extras. I highly recommend that set--it was my best purchase of 2003 as far as dvd goes. Something else I would like to address; the reviewer "Kulana" who says cartoons are not for adults.He/she claims that you should get this and not the one with "all the bells and whistles" because they are for kids and not for people who want to be children their whole lives. Thats an ignorant thing to say, because so many people grew up with these shorts and they are forever an important part of our pop culture. So in my opinion, if you are a true collector then buy the gold collection version. If you are just looking for good family entertainment, then the gold collection is a better investment that will be enjoyable for the whole family. If you dont like cartoons, don't buy this or the gold collection. And if you want the gold collection and don't have the money, save your money until you can get this version---you'll be glad you did! The better the Gold collection sells, the more likely we will get more and more sets in the future with even more of the classics.
Rating: Summary: I tawt I taw a wip-off Review: I don't get it --where are "One Froggy Evening," "Bully for Bugs," "Knighty-Knight Bugs," and all the other famous famous classics? Are these being saved for future release or at they in the "golden" collection? The titles in this set are NOT impressive and don't seem worth the dough.
Rating: Summary: Looney Tunes is the Looniest !!! Review: I have not purchased the Gold Collection, but I believe the Premiere Collection has a great selection of craziness. Over 10 years ago I purchased about 5 VHS tapes of various Looney Tune cartoons, the premiere only has a few of them included on the DVD. I still think the Premiere is a good choice for anyone who loves their cartoons as much as I do. I do think it would have been better if they only had put out the Gold Collection. Then you would not have a choice as far as price. Of all cartoons, Looney Tunes are still the best. For around $20, depending on where it is purchased, the Premiere would make a great xmas gift.
Rating: Summary: Is That Really All Folks? Review: I just see animation as a come & go scenario these sad days. Whether it is cartoons like Spongebob Squarepants, or classic cartoons like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. Yet, with the wacky feelings in animation, no other studio has ever pulled it of very well in the way Warner Brithers did. The Termite Terrace era really fairs as the best in the animation, and as a staple for so many generations to come. Unfortunately, that really doesn't seem to be the case with coompiling the best from the best. When Warner Brothers released the Looney Tunes Golden Collection on DVD, it really became the nail that was hit on the head. Sadly, they made a inexpensive way to compile those best in a other way.
The Looney Tunes: Premire Collection, contains 28 of Warner Brothers best assortment of all kinds of characters in cartoons. From classics with Bugs Bunny against so many villains like Rocky & Mugsy (Bugs & Thugs), Sylvester vs, Tweety (Canary Row), Speedy Gonzales (Speedy Gonzales), and classics from greats like Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng, and Robert McKimson. Unfortunately, even though this DVD has great cartoons, it really is worthless compare to the Golden Collection released at the same time. That collection has double the cartoons, and more value for its dollar.
Sadly, the Looney Tunes Premire Collection really isn't worth its value. It is really a waste of money, and not much value. I only suggest you get this, if you hate the very first 2 DVD's from the Golden Collection, but otherwise That's All Folks!!

Rating: Summary: Fun, But.... Review: I know it's only the first volume in an ongoing series, but where is "What's Opera, Doc?" That's the most classic cartoon ever. ("Kill the wabbit! Kill the wabbit!") I also would have liked the one with the "Rabbit season, duck season" bit on it, but noooooo. We get Foghorn Leghorn and those two ultra polite gophers (not that there's anything wrong with that.) I hope the subsequent volumes have a better mix of famous cartoons. If I had to do it again, I'd spring for the boxed set.
Rating: Summary: Why, WB, why? Review: If the release of this DVD in any way demonstrates the path WB might take in bringing their vast animated short collection to the public, then this is harbinger of a great travesty to DVDs and animation alike! WB did the right thing with laserdiscs years back, releasing 5 sets of 4-disc collections. They have taken the first step with the Golden Collection available today. This is a potential step back! If you truly are interested in seeing these great cartoons, buy the Golden Collection, NOT this one. You'll be glad you did, and every fan of WB will be glad you did, too. BTW, the laserdisc sets have held their value for a reason! They are going on eBay for about $100 a box! This won't...
Rating: Summary: WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: If there wer an option for zero stars, I would have chosen that. If there ever needed to be any more proof that the DVD market is full of corrup, evil and greedy executives, this DVD is it. If you are a fan of the Looney Tunes, don't purchase this set. Buy the Gold Collection instead. All The Premiere Collection is is a simplified version of The Gold Collection. I don't know of any fan who would rather fork over their dough for this, instead of spending a bit more for the bigger and more comprehensive set. I haven't purchased this, and don't plan on doing so. Warner Bros is greedy. They percieve us to be overly-gullible idiots who will buy anything. Which, sadly, is the case with almost all studios. Please: don't give into their insolence.
Rating: Summary: B E W A R E *PLEASE*!!!!! Review: If you are obsessive compulsive like I am, and buy things without looking at them first, please be warned that this collection of Looney Tunes cartoons are ALL CONTAINED within the Golden Collection also released this past November 4th!!! I would suggest you buy the Golden Collection, but remember that if you do, that you do NOT need this collection.
Rating: Summary: Go for the Gold Review: If you really don't want to spend the money for the Gold collection you may take a look at this little compilation. But if you are truly a Looney tunes fan than most likely you were compelled by the first time you saw Bugs Bunny. The Gold collection contains some of Bugs's most honorable tunes on disc 1 and basically disc 1 is worth the difference in Gold.
Rating: Summary: AVOID THIS DVD AT ALL COSTS!! Review: It is a watered down version of The Golden Collection with the same bareboned cartoons you catch on television every single weekday afternoon! The Golden Collection contains the exact same cartoon shorts PLUS many more and has tons of cool and entertaining extra features that will appeal to both children and adults - Dont cheap out on this, go with the Golden - you will NOT regret it!!! The value well exceeds the cost (which isnt too bad).
