Summary: The child doesn't move when this tape is in.
Review: My son is 1 and loves this video. I just purchased the other three today and I can't wait to see him engrosed in the video. I think the word Stimulate is an understatement.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Still going.
Review: My son loves it as much at 2 as he did at 6 mos. Julie's DVD's are one of the few he'll watch entirely. And I'm not tired of it either!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is the best video!!!
Review: I had heard about these video's and thought I'd try one out on my 5 month old daughter. Was I surprised! She is absolutely focused on it! She loves the puppets and the kids, as well as the colors. Now that I've experienced this one, I can't wait to add more of the Baby Einstein series!

Summary: Wonderful video
Review: My 2 year old daughter loves this video-she has loved it since we purchased it several months ago. "Baby Mozart" thoroughly entertained her from 4months old until at least 1- now "Baby Shakespeare" and "Baby Dolittle" are her favorites. She is so happy seeing the puppets and dancing to the songs. I am a big fan of this series-with "Baby Shakespeare" maybe being the best one.

Summary: The best video in the series
Review: We own several of the Baby Einstein videos (Mozart, Bach, Van Gogh and the 2 Dolittles). In my opinion this one is the best of the lot. Everyone knows the formula, live action, puppets, toys, children, all against the background of classical music, in this case, Beethoven. The poetry is lovely (even if there is only one Shakespeare item), the images beautiful and the use of children minimal but effective. The puppetry is especially witty. For those reviewers put off by the slightly naughty Bard puppet and the flatulent cows--it is precisely this anarchic humor that delights my daughter. Do I worry about her developing bad manners from this? No, not at all. I enjoy watching this tape along with my 14 month old, pointing and naming the items, reciting the poetry, and laughing with her. There are some reviewers who are critical of the lack of boys in this video. There are only 3 live action segments. The video opens with toddlers (all girls) singing the "ABC" song, about half way through (after the "Frog" segment) the same group, although in slightly different combinations, re-appears singing the "ABC" song. A small segment occurs during the segment on "Grass" which shows a toddler running barefoot. It is difficult to tell what gender this child is. There are fewer live action children in this video than in subsequent videos in this series. All in all, I recommend this video. As always, I can't vouch for the educational value of this tape, but it certainly entertains.

Summary: Baby Shakespeare VHS - Baby Einstein Company
Review: This is our son's (13 months old) favorite video, and it's yet another "perfect 10" in the Baby Einstein Company's impressive series of videos! I hold a Master's degree in the field of infant speech-language and communicative development, and I would definitely recommend this particular video for your own baby's speech-language and cognitive facilitation and development. This visually and auditorally creative and stimulating video also provides an excellent opportunity for parental interaction and facilitation which will enhance your baby's (and toddler's) overall cognitive-communicative skills and development to a greater degree than other infant videos which typically require little or no active participation from or interaction between the child and his/her parents. (Tip: fast forward to the end of the video credits for some simple yet highly effective communication-enhancing ideas and strategies to utilize while watching the video with your child.). This video (and accompanying book of poetry) scores a perfect "10" on all accounts!

Summary: Glued to the Screen
Review: This video is recommended for 1-4 year olds but my 7 month daughter is totally engaged by it. We have the entire series of Baby Einstein videos from Baby Einstein to Baby Dolittle World Animals but Baby Shakespeare is definitely her favorite. My guess is that she likes to hear the voice of Julie Aigner-Clark reciting the poems and also enjoys watching the faces of the children while they sing ABCs.

Summary: A good baby entertainer
Review: My 9 month old son has all of the Baby Einstein videos and this seems to be his favorite. He laughs and claps and finds that dragon puppet to be a real hoot. Hopefully he is learning but lets face it, we all want a video that entertains our children and this is it. Of course he is supervised while watching, but I admit it gives me a change to make a phone call or fold laundry. Many people are disturbed by Julie Clark's high pitched voice. It may be annoying to adults, but babies like voices like that and it works in this video.

Summary: Excellent, even for Parents
Review: We have purchased a lot of videos for our 13 month old son, and this is the best. This is very professional, has good music (Beethoven), teaches some basic words and the alphabet, and is quite funny. I've seen this video many many times, and I still enjoy it and laugh at some scenes. My son loves it, and he gets excited when we watch it. He doesn't understand it all yet, but he loves the music, video, and animal characters. I would highly recommend it for 12 months and older.

Review: My 7 month old has loved this video since he was 4 months old. It says it is for 1-4 year olds, but he just laughs at all the funny parts. I think these Einstein videos are absolutely wonderful! It teaches him so much!!
