Summary: A Movie for Everyone
Review: When I first had the privelege of seeing the Newsies I was 11 and in my 6th grade Chior class. Now, at the age of 19, I still love to sit down in my favorite chair and watch it over and over again. It is truly a well made movie that Disney should be proud of, as should all the boys who played a part in its creation. It is definitly a movie I'd recommend to people young and old to watch.

Summary: ......
Review: This movie is based loosely on real events that took place after world war 1. Joseph Pulitzer, owner of The World raised prices of his newspapers that go to the newsboys. They are disappointed by this fact and decide to go on strike. The boys have to unite or not be herd. They are lead by a fellow named Jack Kelly. A boy with a questionable past, but talent for speaking and rousing the others.
This movie is very obviously for one audience. It is a song and dance musical, targeted at younger kids. It fails to hold the interest of its older viewers. Most of the characters are fairly flat and develop very little if at all. Only the two main characters, Jack and Dave, change throughout the movie.
The actions of the characters steadily get less and less endearing, finally becoming flat out annoying. The song `Sante Fe' drags on coercing the audience closer to suicide than to moving to New Mexico. Just when things are getting better, they slap you in the face with a cookie cutter Disney ending, just so you wouldn't forget that everything has to turn out happily ever after.
In short, this movie is fun for kids and at least a new storyline for adults tired of the same talking animals and princesses. If you take it at face value (and have a little nap during `Santa Fe') you can see why this film is mildly amusing.

Summary: Full of Smiles
Review: Let me just say that I am currently 23 years old and I first discovered Newsies 11 years ago. I watched the movie several times over the weekend and I rented it several times a month from that point forward, I now am fully versed on all the songs, I revieved it for my Birthday on VHS when I was 18 and still adore the movie and watch it as if it was the frist time everytime. So what is it about Newsies that makes everyone who watched it love it?? That I cannot answer, but maybe it has something to do with the warm feeling it leaves in your heart when it is over, its hard to find that these days. So if you haven't seen it watch it again and if you have watch it again, it will always suprise you.

Summary: Excellent movie! A meaningful, uplifting delight!
Review: This movie is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. It is definetly not given enough credit! I am 16, and I only just recently saw it for the first time in my newspaper class. I admit that there are some who would find it cheesy, but that is only because they are embarassed to admit they actually like it. The movie has a wonderful plot, great choreography and songs, and leaves you feeling inspired and uplifted by this classic based on a true story. I would recommend this movie to anyone.
