Review: I was thrilled to find this DVD a fact that every person in the general area knew. I bought it right away having loved the movie since I first saw it years ago. This movie couldn't have been rereleased at a better time. Having lost my VHS the find was even better. I bought 2 that day, and my friends are already mad that the second one is not going to one of them. Not only was the good timeing but the movie itself is a wonderful testement to what kids accomplish when the band together.The DVD has great features as well, including a sing along feature. I know all the songs by heart but it is still a fun thing to watch. I would reccomend this movie to anyone who enjoys a great movie, that draws you right in.

Review: As the title says... Ivan dudynsky is the ruler of all things good. and there for... newsies is one of the greatest things that has ever happened. if you don't believe me... well... too bad, because I don't care. This movie is the coolest thing since chapstik.

Review: this is one of the best movies i've ever seen in my entire life! you can't beat this movie. it doesn't matter if you live in manhattan to santa fe! it's got action, romance, singing, dancing, fighting, comedy, everything you'd ever want! plus there are like 50 hot guys in this one movie! all of em fairly nice. it's one of those feel good movies, the kind that you watch and just have to smile. it makes you wanna seize the day, through high times and hard times! it's got huge stars (bill pulman, robert duvall, ann margret) and smaller ones that are giving the performance of a lifetime (christian bale, trey parker, gabriel damon, aaron lohr, max casella) all around good movie! carryin da banna forever!

Review: The movie is one of the best I have seen! I am a Disney fanatic and I also an in love with musicals! So this was a big hit! The music is wonderful! It gets stuck in your head but it isn't a bad thing! The choregraphy is fantastic! I loved it! Boys running down the street singing and dancing. It is a classic! Nothing will ever be like it!

Review: This is a great movie, especially if you like musicals. The music is wonderful and I love singing along. I enjoy the movie because it is based of fact, but it is also really easy to understand and listen to. I caught all but the first couple minutes on T.V. once and ever since I've been trying to find the movie. I was really disappointed when I found out that it hadn't been released yet. This is one of the movies I think I could watch several times without overdoing it. I got the cd about a couple weeks ago and since then I've had it in my discman everyday for the walk to and from school. It's a really colorful movie and nicely puts together the kids and their conditions around this particular era.

Review: Newsies has grown to be a cult classic among the people who were kids when this movie was first released in 1992. Massive petitions and numerous letters have gone into encouraging Disney to release this film on DVD. I am glad to see that everyone's hard work has paid off. Enjoy this movie while it is still available.

Summary: A Comment from a Parent
Review: I am offended by the professional critics slamming this movie. My two teenage daughters and all their friends absolutely love it! It has incredible dancing, cute guys, and the above-mentioned females are constantly quoting the songs and lines out of this movie. It has a solid plot - and actually holds the characters up to noble ideals...honesty, integrity, loyalty, love of family - and criticizes things that I want my kids to hate: greed, breaking promises, etc. There is a touch of romance, but no sex! Yeah!
The fact that it is based (I believe somewhat loosely) in historical fact also pleases me as it has given my kids a taste of that portion of US history and a desire to learn more. We have managed to purchase a piano/flute book of the songs - so my kids have also been challenged to improve in another area.
This is a great movie for girls from 11 years and up. (I say this only because my 10 year old is not ready to obsess over this movie yet.)
Newsies has inspired both of my older girls to write stories based on the characters.
The reference to "kiddie humor" is particularly annoying. I, for one, am tired of watching movies geared towards kids that feature "potty humor" such as farting and boys getting hit in the crotch. I can't think of anything in Newsies that is that ignorant.
As you can see, I think this is a great movie. Why do the professionals always dislike the decent movies?
