Summary: Educational and Entertaining
Review: I enjoyed this movie, and the IMAX format. I was a bit disappointed that the format wasn't taken advantage of more; the first IMAX I saw was the Grand Canyon, and you get a real sense of massive size and depth from it that I didn't always feel in Everest. The story was good, though, & I was interested to know that the one man's father had climbed so many years earlier. I took my 17 year old niece, and she enjoyed it very much, as well. Great for all ages.

Summary: Overrated; very overrated
Review: This film is a disappointment! Based on the reviews I read here at Amazon and in other media, I expected an exciting and visually engrossing experience. This is a nineteen-nineties touchy feely melodrama and furthermore, it's poorly done. Can I get my money back?

Summary: I watched it with my class in vic.B.C. IMAX theatre
Review: for myself , i really liked the showing. It made just about all of our class cry aswell as smile. If i had the chance i would watch it again. But for now i'm just recommending it to others all around me. It was very inspiring to those in my class who wanted to give up on their dreams.

Summary: Fantasy flick
Review: By bringing Everest to Hollywood, IMAX has only added to the commercialization of this mountain. While I was in awe of the beauty of this particular film, I felt that IMAX gave only a small glimpse of what it truly takes to attempt to summit this mountain. By not paying great attention to the extreme and life-endangering conditions which are an inevitable part of this expedition, IMAX has only extended the far-fetched dream of Everest to the masses of unexperienced people who might be led to think that climbing Everest is not an exceptional feat. Perhaps IMAX should have taken more consideration to the horrors that have taken place on this mountain and also addressed environmental concerns such as the gross littering of oxygen canisters, tents, and abandoned stashes of supplies on the mountain and at base camp. If you want to see a movie that gives you a small, introduction to the big picture - then buy "Everest". But you should also be aware that this movie is not the whole story of what has been evolving on this mountain.

Summary: Tne best movie about Everest that I have ever seen
Review: This movie shows what it is like to climb on everest and it also makes a point to show that to many ameteurs are trying to climb everest and that accidents can happen. If you want to see a movie that shows the truths of everest this is the one for you.

Summary: Not enough shoots on the mountains...
Review: Beautiful cinematography. However I felt they elaborated too much on the stories and off-mountain scenes, that the actual "climb" part too short. I would like to see more of their technical skills of mastering the highest mountain of the world.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: OK-Spoiled by Reenactments & Blah Summit Shots
Review: The IMAX photography was breathtaking. However, some of the shots were reenactments. The summit shots were a disappointment. They looked as if they were taken with a 35mm camera, rather than IMAX.
