Summary: Go-Go-Gadget 180 Degree Veer From The Famed Cartoon!
Review: For a movie with the name Disney branded on the front (which means it's automatically geared towards a young audience), it isn't half-bad. The plot: catch the bad guys & get the girl. That's okay, because the way that they go about is funny. The co-star looks good. It's predictable, but a 180 from the cartoon (which in a way is refreshing). Inspector Gadget (Matthew Broderick) is "not" the dim-witted, feigned hero like his cartoon counterpart. And Penny (Michelle Trachtenberg) isn't the lil' snoop that solves all the mysteries sans credit. In fact Penny, uh, has no role; the director tried to stay somewhat true to the cartoon Penny. Nor does Brain. You'll like the way Gadget handles his evil twin- who is concocted from the warped mind of Dr.Claw/Cotex (and whose teeth are incredibly white!) The only downsets are that Cotex (Rupert Everett) is, to my knowledge, not from the cartoon. And I dang sure know that Dr. Claw is supposed to be covert and... not seen! If you pay meticulous attention- the Cartoon Dr. Claw has a bionic right hand, not left. Anywho, what squirmed me right out of my theater seat was the annoying Gadgetmobile personality (D.L. Hughley). I'm sawry, but D.L. was getting on my nerves, yall, dang! And I thought it was kinda cruel how Gadget's on the brink of death and they metamorph him into the next "Robocop" without his permission. But all 'n all, a very funny, FX-filled, watch-at-any-age kinda film. Hello... duh, it's Disney... that's why!

Summary: Inspector Gadget is HOT and handy!
Review: This was a really great movie, with excellent special effects and a nice plot. Matthew Broderick does an excellent job of acting, as do the rest of the caste. The plot is basically, a rather clutzy/geeky security gaurd is transformed into Inspector Gadget after he basically gets blown to bits while chasing Claw. There are some added characters, along with a romance, and its a movie that can entertain adults, OR children! GO GO GADGET! :) I would recommend to anyone with a sense of humor, and a love for something other than some freak-show, like horror movies.

Summary: Fun but lacking
Review: Great special effects for Inspector Gadget, but the film resembles the cartoon very little -- Gadget's not very bumbling, Peggy's hardly involved. Brain doesn't do much. Claw is too nice. This version has a technical glitch in the first chapter 1 where the French version pops into the English version for about 10 seconds.

Summary: Disney's done it again!
Review: This is the second best Disney I've seen. (After Toy Story 2.) Usually I don't like Disney movies, but I liked this one! There are only about 7 Disney movies I liked, and Inspector Gadget was a gem! I don't get around to seeing Matthew Broderick in movies much (only in Godzilla), or rupertt everet (However you spell his name!) One of my favorite parts was in the end credits, at the "Henchmen Anonymous Recovery Group" (Or whatever it was called.) Thanks Disney for making a great movie!

Summary: Not the cartoon, but pretty darn entertaining.
Review: What I loved about this movie was the direction. Although it didn't follow the point of the cartoon, which was Gadget not solving anything and Brain and Penny doing all the work, the fun they had making the movie was apparent in every frame. How much fun is that opening sequence?

And the effects are flawless. As for the talking car, well...I like Hughley as much as the next guy, but that was just a tad too annoying and self-aware.

You and the kids will love it, but the grown-up might find him or herself chuckling at this a bit.

Summary: I thought Inspector Gadget was the best movie I ever saw
Review: This was a very good movie. The only down side is that Inspector Gadget wasn't that absent minded as he is in the old T.V. show. I noticed how the hench man working for Dr. Claw looks and has the same personality.

Summary: A review from Mr. Entertainment Lover
Review: Live action comedy about a man who fights crime with the help of his gadgets. It's really funny but the plot is stupid. Not a terrible movie, yet not a great movie either. Matthew Broderick does do a good job as Inspector Gadget, but Dr. Claw isn't anything like he was in the T.V. show and Gadgets talking car is extremely anoying. In other words it's funny and has good special effects, but the plot isn't good! They should have said Go Go Gadget get a better script!

Summary: An Okay Movie, But My SOn Loves It So!
Review: I saw this movie with my son. Although I thought the movie was mediocre, my son really enjoyed it-it was his first movie at a theater. Inspector Gadget has gotten him away from more violent movies-like Small Soldiers and Power Rangers. I know my son will watch this video over and over again!
