Review: It was a good movie, it should have been rated PG because there was a lot of open-mouthed kissing, which is somewhat questionable. It is good for the 10-13 age group, though could possibly be enjoyed by adults.

Review: I think they should of fallowed the book more than change it for younger kids. It is an okay movie though, don't let me stop you for watching it, if your looking for a good children's movie please go out to the theaters or wait for the video.

Summary: Hooray For Decency!!
Review: I can't believe the reviewer who thought this movie should have been made at the standards of a PG or PG-13 rating, to make it "very good!" That is the problem with Hollywood already--the more garbage in a movie, the better! Since this one is clean the reviewer considered it too "Disney." For everyone's info: Disney is the producer of Bubble Boy, an absolutely abhorrent film that mocks Christianity (mainly) and other religions, and promotes the true, underlying foul spirit of the Disney corporation. Since it's so extremely rare for a decent, G-rated, live-action film to be produced today (you'll notice "Diaries" is in the top ten at the box office) I'm amazed that anyone would actually COMPLAIN that it didn't have enough offensive material in it to get a PG or worse rating. I realize that my opinions are not necessarily those of Amazon.com but I can imagine that there are a great many people out there who would agree with me on this issue. Hooray for the first actually decent G-rated, non-animated, film since "The Winslow Boy." (Was that one shown in theaters?)

Review: This was a great family movie and a hilarious one at that. I reccomend this to everyone from a 2 year old child to a 120 year old woman! This was a great summer movie that I can watch over and over and over again.

Summary: Stand up and applaud
Review: When was the last time you didn't have to cringe at language, bathroom humor or a delicate situation in a movie theatre with your family? When was the last time that the entire audience applauded at the conclusion of the film? You will not only be relieved but pleased at the content of this film and the "lessons" that can be learned. This should have been titled the feel good movie of the summer. This is a good, clean, Disney movie. Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Review: Oh, my gosh how good it is to see Julie Andrews in the spotlight again there is only one actress like her. Anne Hatheway was WONDERFUL in this movie. This is probably one of the only movie out now you can take your whole family too. This movie was GREAT!!!!!!!

Review: Hello. This movie rocked. It was a really great, heart warming movie for all kids around who think you MUST be beautiful. But this movie proved that you can just be yourself and go very far. The Princess Diaries is a great family film. It stars Anne Hathaway as Mia, the unpopular girl in school tortured by the Lana Thomas [Mandy Moore] and her best friends Fontana & Anna. The 3 most popular girls in school. But Julie Andrews rescues her when she gives her a makeover for realizing she's a princess of a country called Genovia. Still even after her looks her friends are still by her while the popular girls still bother her. Mandy Moore was my favorite in this movie but I was kind of pleased when Anne's character Mia did "dis" Lana & her friends. If you want to know what it is, SEE THE MOVIE! I know I'm going to see it again.

Summary: I love movies like this
Review: This movie was great. I think it portrayed the life of a teenager well. It wasn't exactly a realistic movie,but who cares? Mia Thermopolis is an average teenage girl,dealing with a lot of the same things as other teens, such as,Popularity,confidence,friends,boys,and family. If you look carefully, you'll notice that a lot of the charaters were in pretty woman. One of the best parts of the movie,is that there wasn't any swearing or profanity. A truly good movie doesn't have to have that stuff in it.Mandy Moore was pretty funny,as well as Eric Von Detton.The music is also very fun. if you love an empowering movie,you'll love this one. I walked out feeling so good about myself. Mia makes every girl feel good about herself in the end. It has the same effect as She's all that. Both movies take a nerdy,or unpopular girl,and turn her into a beautiful and confident person. To me, it's the best movie to watch when you're feeling crummy about yourself,or even if you aren't.I think this was one of the best summer movies. I recommend it to all ages.

Summary: Teen Princess Diaries Review
Review: Wow, great movie! I know, I'm a guy. I'm not supposed to like these chick flicks. And I'm almost 17, so why would I want to see Princess Diaries? Heh heh, most of the people in the movie theater were little kids, and parents. Uy! But once I got in and started watching, wow! Anne Hathaway was so pretty, even when with frizzled hair and "bushy eyebrows" and such. It's a good story line, and I think a lot of people would enjoy it, who wouldn't otherwise. I suppose very few guys have seen it (the G rating and supposed "uninterested" view of the commercials), but I've encouraged most of them to go see it (they think I'm a fanatic). If you ever feel like you sorta don't fit in that well, or just want to see a funny movie, go to this one. The characters are beautifully cast, and everyone is quite believable. Anne Hathaway is the prettiest actress to come on the scene of movies. (And I was very disappointed to learn how few fan sites there were of Anne Hathaway, and how little TRL fans clapped for her [grr]) So go see the movie, you'll like it.

Summary: A Modern Cinderella
Review: Many films are simply remakes of old stories or fairy tales, and "The Princess Diaries" is a remake of Cinderella, only set in the modern age without a crystal slipper or pumpkin-coach. Mia Thermopolis is a socially-invisible nerd with tangled hair, bad manners and thick glasses, attending a private prep school in San Francisco. Then her paternal grandmother (i.e., the modern version of the "Fairy Godmother," Julie Andrews) shows up to inform her that Mia is heir to the throne of Genova, a tiny country in Europe. If Mia wants to trade her horm-rims for a tiara, she will have to learn manners and clean up her act. Presto, a makeover team assembles and Mia the Frog becomes Mia the Fox. Her girlfriends are suddenly jealous, and then the press gets wind of it, a real princess right here in San Francisco. A media frenzy erupts. She is mobbed by the press right in front of her high school,in full view of the snobs and cliques who used to torment her. She's glamorous, she's famous. Revenge is sweet. The plot thickens when the boy who always liked her must play second-fiddle to the campus dream-guy, who is now interested, but who turns out to be a creep underneath. The film has its moments of hilarity, like when Mia attends her first candle lit state dinner as a princess and accidentally sets fire to the man sitting next to her. However, I had some problems with the film. I find it hard to believe that a princess from a small and obscure country would be such an instant celebrity simply because of an accident of birth, i.e., she was born into royalty. What's all the rage about royalty anyway? Didn't we fight a revolution to distance ourselves from "the divine right of kings"? The film sells the idea of the "Cinderella complex," the idea that a young woman can achieve social standing, popularity and celebrity by forces external to herself. I would never recommend to any young person that she hope for some magic fairy tale, charming prince, or happy accident to transform her life. Happiness is not bestowed upon you by random external forces. You can earn it for yourself by what you make of your life. So kids, forget the tiara. Go for an MBA.
