Summary: A Must See for Adults
Review: I am in recovery and in the process of learning how to live life on life's terms, I have realized that so much of what happened to us as children, has an impact on us later in life. We can choose to continue our old behavior patterns or learn new ones. But, until we remember what happened to us as children, we cannot grow in a new direction. This movie reminded me so much of how we can blame ourselves and treat ourselves so cruelly as adults until we learn what it was that made us learn that behavior. Then, we begin the process of healing and growth. This movie was a little gem of great value for what it made me learn about myself and what I must do from this point on. I highly recommend it to everyone. And, I love the musical score!

Summary: Not worth to buy it
Review: Film producers want to catch the trend and make movies with fantastic stories. This is one of these movies. The effort to be strange and different, makes this story lack of logic. Bruce and the kid player is not good at making their role. "The whole nine yards" is much better than that movie. I dont advise "The kid" to buy.

Summary: Good, clean entertainment
Review: This is definately a good movie to watch with your kids. Good, clean entertainment. Bruce Willis' comedic performance is on par with his recent movie 'The Whole Nine Yards'.

The movie started out with you really believing that he was a total jerk. However as the plot moved along it was nice to see his character deepen.

Spencer Breslin (8yr old Bruce) seemed to be an unlikely choice for Bruce as a kid. I just couldn't see him growing up to be Bruce. However as the movie progressed Bruce really brought out the character by revealing the inner insecurities that were developed as a child.

Overall I was entertained, but I don't have kids, so I didn't end up buying it. The 'Disneyesque' style was annoying at points with the overblown musical scores and the drippy sappiness. I didn't figure out the ending 'til the end, so I didn't grade it too harshly.

Watch for the red vehicle references... They all tie together in the end.

Summary: Two Generation Y'ers loved this movie!
Review: My friend and I, both in our twenties, went to see this movie. Afterwards we went to the nearby farmer's market and played marbles. Never done that before:) But this movie gets you in that kind of mood. And of course it's got Bruce Willis, so who could say no?

Summary: Heartwarming but NOT Hillarious!
Review: This movie was NOT the rip-roaring comedy I thought it was going to be! So if you expect to buy this movie and laugh all the way through it, you will probably be disappointed. The plot, which involves a 40 year old Image Consultant (Willis) who meets his eight year old self, seems to try a BIT hard to TUG AT YOUR HEART STRINGS. Yes, the film definitely is attempting to manipulate your emotions - which, I guess is what all movies attempt to do - only the effort seems really noticable and transparent in this one! It's cute; it's clean, it's wholesome, family viewing, but (I hate to say it) it's just not anything special! My opinion: DEFINITELY RENT BEFORE BUYING! (Sorry, Bruce)!

Summary: A Fun Film
Review: Bruce Willis packs the comedic punch in this Disney family film. Willis plays a greedy image consultant who leads a rather disasterous life. He is only about money and power. That is until his eight year old self drops in for a visit. This is a really well done movie. Willis puts in a good performance while Lilly Tomlin fires one liners left and right that keep you laughing. This movie really proves the fact that Willis can tackle and succeed at any movie roll set before him. One for the family, but if you're looking for a good comedy, take a gander and enjoy.

Summary: Very enjoyable, clean, light-hearted fun!
Review: I saw this film with two other adult women with no kids accompanying us, and we all thought it was a great pick for our ladies night out. The film made us laugh and smile, and the plot kept us involved. Not only that, I can now take it home and know that my 4-year-old will enjoy when he gets older.

Thanks, Bruce, and thank you, Hollywood, for making a good family film.

Summary: Great film, wonderful wit.
Review: I was reluctant to see this film. Disney, a little kid and Bruce Willis? No way. Yet I went. And I'm delighted I did so. Within moments Audrey Wells sharp writing, which she displayed in her underrated script for The Truth About Cats and Dogs, slaps the astute audience member across the face. The kids won't pick up on the sarcasm, but fans of older, classic films will enjoy the crackling, back-and-forth exchanges Willis gets into with just about every person. It was a pleasure to see Willis doing something amusing for once and avoiding that whispering, deep-thinker bull he's been trying in dogs like Unbreakable and The Sixth Sense.

So the story. Simply put, Russ, Willis' character, is a surly, unrepentant intellectual bully who loves his job and has little time for anyone or anything. Enter Rusty, his 8 year old self, brought to the current world through thankfully unexplained means. Little Rusty and Russ go through the usual plot devices, but it's Wells' sharp dialogue and the fine acting by all parties that keeps this movie from dipping into the usual Hollywood boredom. Naturally, Russ changes and evolves, yaddaya, yaddaya, yaddaya. What do you expect, it's a kids movie? Regardless, the film is quite strong until an unbelievably bad ending involving three Russes (or is that Russi?). Forgiving the complete dip into gag-inducing schmaltziness at the end, The Kid is a sharp, keen, well crafted little film that adults who like witty comedies will enjoy.

Summary: Excellent Family Entertainment!
Review: I'm a big Bruce Willis Fan. He not only can play the hard nitty gritty tough character, he plays an excellent comedy role also. The movie has classic written all over it. This is one of those movies you can go to and turn off the critic and just enjoy the story. This story speaks to all of us, to get us in touch with what is really important. All of us at one time or another wish that we could go back and change somethings about ourselves. This movie not only protrays that but touches the imagination that we too can. I highly recommend this movie for anybody looking for a DVD that wants to sit back and just enjoy a smile.

Summary: Some funny parts, but hey, Bruce was horrible!
Review: Hello! If your doing some Christmas shopping on Amazon.com, don't buy this video! It's got a horrible meaning, like, hey, real kids that Bruce's character knew? Come on! If you hate me, then hate this movie! Spencer Breslin did O.K. It's got some funny parts, but, hey, they aren't too funny. So, if your looking for a Bruce Willis movie, go buy Mercury Rising or The Sixth Sense. And, what a gross thing. Biting nails! Come on! This is the last thing I am saying to you. NEVER BUY THIS MOVIE IF YOUR LIFE RELIED ON IT!
