Summary: Super Freaky
Review: The original Freaky Friday, released in 1977, starred Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster, as a mother/daughter, who pull off the old switchero. The sprited 2003 remake is as much fun as the earlier incarnation and is a great showcase for the comedic talents of its two female leads.

Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and her 15-year-old daughter Anna (Lindsay Lohan) are not getting along all that well. The pair butt heads over everthing from boys, household chores, to mom's upcoming nuptials to Ryan (Mark Harmon). However, everything changes when two identical Chinese fortune cookies cause a little mystic mayhem and Tess and Anna find themselves inside the other's body. And with Tess's wedding only a few days away, the two have to find a way to switch back before the big day.

Under the direction of Mark S. Waters, Freaky Friday, has what many of the identity crisis comedies of the past did not--good chemistry between the leads. Curtis and Lohan make quite a team. I was very impressed with the way they were both able to transform into each other. Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a clever and witty script, to back you up. After seeing Curtis strut her stuff, her Golden Globe nomination for her performance, was well deserved.

The DVD has a solid assortment of extras, but I really wish the stars had recorded an audio commentary, that probably would have been lots of fun. Waters offers an introduction for a deleted scene and no less than three alternate endings. I'll let you decide for yourself, which ending works best. Actress Lindsay Lohan grabbed a DV Camera for some fun backstage moments with the cast and crew during the making of the film. There's also a three minute blooper reel that's worth a look, two music videos from the film's soundtrack: Lillix's "What I Like About You" and Halo Friendlies' "Me Vs. the World", a few DVD-ROM weblinks, and the usual Disney sneak peeks. The actual theatrical trailers for either Freaky Friday film, however, didn't make the disc. Viewers can watch the movie in either the full-screen or widescreen formats

This is a lighthearted family comedy that made even this somewhat cynical reviewer smile. Recommended

Summary: Excellent
Review: I watched this movie with my mom - and we both loved it (which is not something I can say about all movies we watch together). The actors were amazing, they totally fit their roles and acted their parts throughout the whole thing. The plot sounds a little dubious - I mean, a mom and daughter changing around? - but the movie carries it off very well and it was really touching at the end. Lindsay Lohan is awesome on her guitar - I love Ultimate at the end - and Jamie Lee Curtis was AMAZING in her award-nominated performance. I haven't seen the original version of this film, but this one has a very upbeat and modern feel to it - you won't get bored. A DEFINITE must-see with your mom/daughter -- if not for anything else but to drool over Chad Michael Murray!

Summary: excellent movie
Review: There aren't too many movies out there today that is safe for a 7 year old and 6 yr old to watch. But this one is definately the top of my list for family friendly movies. My husband even loved it. I bought the DVD and my daughters have seen it 5 times!!! Jamie Lee Curtis is great in her role. Lindsey Lohan is adorable in her role as she was in The Parent Trap. This movie fosters an understanding between a misunderstood teenage girl and her mother. I absolutely loved this movie

Summary: Look, I'm a Walrus!
Review: I saw this movie with a bunch of my girl friends, and I can say we had a lot of fun watching the movie. Lindsay Lohen played the part well, with her teenage tempertantrums and all. It was a little overboard, but we got the message and the meaning of the switch. I liked the characters, I laughed quite a lot, and I enjoyed the music. I wish I could jam like that on my guitar. Any girl would enjoy this movie.

Summary: Nothing Great, but it's still worth seeing!
Review: Freaky Friday was a sort of freaky movie, hence the title. I mean, it was about a teenage spoiled brat girl who constantly argued with her mom when she didn't get her way, so when they were argueing in a chinese resturant, they got magic forturne cookies that changed them into each other until they had self-less love for each other. Isn't that sweet. It is a Disney movie, remember that, but it really wasn't as bad as the plot makes it sound. When I went to see it I figured I could at least make fun of it if it was really bad, but I couldn't really do that because it wasn't as bad as I expected. There weren't any big special effects or anything like that, but it was fun. I wouldn't reccomend you run out and see it just because, but if you have nothing better to do, it can't really hurt, but make sure you've already seen Pirates of the Caribbean if you want to see a Disney movie.

Summary: Absolutely Delightful Beginning To End!
Review: Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess Coleman, and her daughter Anna, played by Lindsay Lohan, are wonderfully teamed as a hapless mother and daughter trapped in eachothers bodies after sharing a fortune cookie laced with oriental voodoo.

Although Anna and Tess are mother and daughter, they are not communicating and are too wrapped up in the selfishness of their own wants and needs. Tess is getting married to new love Ryan, played by Mark Harmon, and Anna is wrapped up in her rock band, friends and boyfriend to be Jake (Chad Michael Murray). She is also battling a vengeful Mr. Bates (Stephen Talblowsky)the sadistic English teacher, and Ex-Friend turned "Insane Psycho Freak" Stacy Hinckhouse. It is when Anna becomes Tess and Tess becomes Anna, that their two very different worlds, begin to make sense to them. It is then that they both realize just how special each of them is to themselves, as well as to eachother.

The film is well paced, well done, with a killer soundtrack that keeps the mood lively and happy throughout. All the characters are clearly drawn and fun to watch and root for. As I always say, when you care about the characters, the movie has lived up to its budget. You cannot wait to see Tess and Anna make it to the moment where they realize how to be selfless, the only way they can be switched back. Meanwhile, it is wonderful when Tess as Anna is forced to "Act like Keith" at a very important performance for the band, while Anna as Tess unplugs her mom, and plays for her. Tess gets to see the world through her daughters eyes and be young again, while Anna see life through eyes that look like the belong to "The Crypt Keeper"! All the while nobody except them know what is actually going on. When do they finally unfreak? Watch and find out!

There are too many great moments to go into here, so I suggest you see this as soon as possible. I watch this with my daughter all the time and I love it as much as she does. At any age, this movie is a delight that will entertain you time and time again.

Summary: Please Don't Watch
Review: If you have been looking to watch this movie, I'll save you the trouble of going through a complete horror! This is the WORST movie I've seen. The plot is very bad. Too bad that those great actors had to be wasted on this. Also, Freaky Friday doesn't deserve deserve the music that plays in it. This plot could've worked, if in the plot, there weren't so many monkey events! If you're interested in watching a supernatural comedy, please try Back to the Future or some other classic like that. Don't go so far to watch this movie at all!
