Summary: Worth it for the classic material
Review: There have been dozens of film adaptations of "A Christmas Carol" -- including particularly good ones starring George C. Scott and Patrick Stewart. "Mickey's Christmas Carol" is one of my favorites. The Disney characters take the roles in Charles Dickens's classic story of greed, ghosts and redemption. This also has the significance of being the first cartoon to feature the Scrooge McDuck character, who was created and popularized by Carl Barks in the Disney comic books. He is voiced here, and in most later appearances, by Alan Young (alias Wilbur from "Mr. Ed".)

You can't find it alone on video or DVD, but last year it was released in part of an anthology movie, "Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse." This movie is worth it for the Christmas Carol adaptation alone, but also has several new shorts and the 1952 classic "Pluto's Christmas Tree," that makes it worth picking up. The framing sequence is so-so -- a take on the "House of Mouse" cartoon show, but it's got nice bits and the Disney fans out there will appreciate it.

Summary: Don't waste your money
Review: This DVD is not worth the $... I paid for it. I love Disney movies, but this one is a total dissapointment. If you definitely need to have it, wait until the price drops ... or make a copy from a friend. The DVD quality is extremely poor.

Summary: Did they say it featured favorite Disney Characters?????
Review: This is a great movie IF you are buying it to watch Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. If you are purchasing it to see all your favorite Disney characters, save your money and buy something else. We bought the movie for our 4 and 2 year old girls who love the Disney princesses. Basically, the Disney characters just walk by to get to their seats or are shown as part of an audience who come to Mickey's house to watch him entertain them. Belle and a couple of the characters from Lion King have one or two quick speaking parts, otherwise it is all about Mickey and Donald. I was very disappointed in the movie and thought it was dishonestly advertised.

Summary: Very cute !!!!!
Review: This is rated 1-star only because 0-stars was not an option.
This DVD contains the usual collection of old shorts tied together by mediocre (at best) clips of every Disney character ever! This was mostly predictable if you have any experience with prior Disney compilations.
The real problem with this video is the LONG and MANDATORY preview section. On a tape you can fast forward through the commercials but Disney has chosen to embed them in the protected area of the disc that forces the viewer to see them all at 1X speed EVERY TIME you want to watch the video. Disney charges full price for this disc, around [amt], so this intrusion is unacceptable.
I wanted to spend some time with my young daughter watching a cartoon video but by the time the feature started we were both in a sour mood.
This is my first Disney DVD. If all of them are similarly formatted, it will be my last.

Summary: I haven't seen this and I already hate it
Review: This movie is nothing more than corporately sponsored fan fiction
as well as toxic waste for the brain. I've been against THE HOUSE
OF MOUSE from the beginning and SNOWED IN is a horrifically bad
idea. For those of you who aren't familiar with my tastes,
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is actually my favorite film. I cannot
stand to watch yet another desecration of Belle or The Beast(or
if Disney had actually had the courage, the Prince)as I'm sure the hacks responsible here have perpetuated. I've discredited THE ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS,and it was neccessary to do so. This isn't the least bit important.

Summary: Disappointing.
Review: This movie leaves much, much to be desired. First, it is only an hour and five minutes long. Full-length? Yeah, just barely. If they had made it longer, it could have been a whole lot better. Second, I was expecting favorite characters from various Disney movies to get together at the House of Mouse, a nightclub of sorts, to hang out, and then realize they can't go home because there's too much snow even to open the door. Indeed that all happens, but in the first five seconds, practically. This whole thing is rushed through, it seems, and why couldn't they have elaborated, made it a far better, hour-and-a-half long movie? All the characters, and this is my really big problem, are seen on the screen for about a grand total of five seconds, and if they're lucky, they might get to say one puny, insignificant, obviously not thought-out, state-the-obvious kind of line. "Did you hear that, Belle? We can't go home," says the Beast. And then BAM! He's done, end of story. What's the point of having these characters in the movie? All it is is a collaboration of Christmas memories...Mickey's, Minnie's, Donald's, and Goofy's! I expected new and original cartoons in which people like Aladdin, Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Hercules, the Lion King, etc, play out their favorite Christmas stories. Is that what you get here? Not even close. They are all old cartoons most people have probably already seen. There's the one where Chip and Dale are hiding in Mickey and Pluto's tree, and Dale gets turned into a candle, and they put the "Do not open til xmas" sticker on Pluto's mouth. There's the Christmas Carol disney version on here, with Scrooge as himself and Mickey as Cratchit, the whole thing, which I own by itself, so that part could have been taken up with something else. If you want to see these cartoons, go ahead and buy it, but don't expect much else. The TV show House of Mouse is probably lots better than this. I mean, Lady and Tramp are seriously only seen for two seconds, maybe three, singing with the rest of them. Yet they are pictured prominently on the box. Let-down or what? Meg from Hercules is seen for literally the same amount of time sitting and clapping. Sitting and clapping. Yep, that's it. You almost can't even see her from where they put her, too. The reason I give this 3 stars is the adorable Nutcracker sequence. It was one of the few cartoons I'd never seen, and it was very funny. It had Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Ludwig van Drake playing the nutcracker roles, along with an extremely annoyed and amusing narrator. This story featured renditions of the beloved parts of the Nutcracker Suite, as heard on Fantasia, notably the parts when we saw Oriental mushrooms and Russian radishes come to life and dance. 5 stars for the one cartoon. Something like 1 to 2 for the rest of it. I guess I kinda averaged it.

Summary: Sorely disappointed
Review: This movie was like a Disney Channel rerun. Bits of past holiday cartoons or movies took up most of the 65 min. run time. I do not recommend buying it, it's not worth putting in your Disney collection.
