Rating: Summary: Worst movie of 2002 Review: I *really* like Dana Carvey - I think he is tremendously funny and an excellent impersonator. Over the years he has been overshadowed by others who are much less talented and he has had a run of bad luck - nobody deserves a movie to show off their talents as much as he does. I don't know the script came from and who thought it was even remotely funny. Some gags just go on for much too long - I never found the turtle man to be in any way funny, but for some reason this just goes on and on and on. To see the best of Carvey, get a copy of him on the "SNL Best Of" series and just pretend this movie never happened. I wish I could. myke
Rating: Summary: so stupid that its funny Review: This is one of those movies that one would say totally ..., yet somehow its stupidity grows on you. The movie starts off a bit slow but makes a comeback towards the middle/end with some just plain hilarious sequences. Dana Carvey is definatly very talented at what he does. All-in-all, definatly a movie worth seeing at least once if you like this sort of humor or if you are a Dana Carvey fan; but maybe not a movie worth paying [$$$] for.... but i probably will ;o)
Rating: Summary: The Master Of Summer Movies Review: I think this was a great movie. I went to go see it, and I have one thing to say: GREAT! It was funny and clever. I think that the cast and crew did a good job. I...P>Take your whole family to see this....
Rating: Summary: Great, loose, fun and wacky comedy! Review: I know I am out of the majority here but I loved this movie! As a fan of Peter Sellers during his sometimes over-wacky Pink Panther days and of Jerry Lewis (I even have copies of obscure french Jerry Lewis films), I truly enjoyed this movie. To many it won't be helpful to say this is as good as a mediocre Jerry Lewis film - but I LOVE those Lewis movies and this had the same effect! Don't expect a plot that is believeable but if you want to laugh at wackyness then this is the film for you. I can't wait for the dvd!
Rating: Summary: Pistachios Never Tasted Better Review: Dana Carvey's whimsical portrayal of the sweet, numbed-minded Pistachio Disguisey was, at best, amazing. His never-ending sense of satire and imitation was stretched to its limits, helping Carvey to pull off a beautiful portrayal of the idiot savants in the world. It is his first movie since 1994's "Clean Slate" and a bout with cancer, and he proved that he can still have fun that he loves to make others laugh.
Rating: Summary: Looks like Nickelodeon Review: This film was funny even though the farting sound and Dana Carvey immating Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy. I find it very very weird. This film should be from Paramount Pictures 90th Anniversary Edition and Nickelodeon Movies. I thought the previews we were going to see were The Wild Thornberrys Movie, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams, Jonah: A Veggietales Movie, Spirited Away, Kangaroo Jack, Daredevil, The Santa Clause 2 and Treaure Planet. This should be a film you must see. I saw it today at a theater that contains 25 movies new to old. Dana Carvey did great but losey with the immation in Shrek.
Rating: Summary: A Kids Movie Review: I love funny, silly movies - but this film just doesn't work if you are an adult. The kids in the audience had a great time, and were laughing at everything. Dana Carvey is wonderful - his characters are great. But the script could have been better, and should have been written to appeal to adults as well as kids
Rating: Summary: Slow Review: I went to see this movie because i think Dana Carvey is very funny, but this is definetly not his full potential. I've laughed many times at things that Carvey has done, but i didn't laugh one time at this movie. The plot was very dumb, and slow pased, and everything that happened was predictable. It got boring half-way through the movie, and they just repeat the same joke over and over. And lastly the movie was way too short, and when the credits started rolling, they should of stopped it there, and not put in all the stuff after it. I think they could of took a little more time making this movie before they realesed it.
Rating: Summary: If you are under 10 years old, it's just OK......... Review: If you are over 10 years old and someone is paying you to see this movie, think hard before you go. With tremendous potential, they managed to eliminate all enjoyment a teenager/adult could get out of it, leaving the content suitable for only a 9 year-old or under whos parents allow them to joke about flatulence.
Rating: Summary: what a bunch of dry jokes! Review: I couldn't believe I paid money to see this tripe! Learn from my mistakes: save your time and money, and avoid this latest garbage from Hollywood. I reluctantly gave it two stars because of the few--and far between--truly funny sections in the movie.
