Summary: One of the Best Holiday Movies
Review: Home Alone is incredible. Its about 8 year old Kevin McCallister and wakes up the morning him and his family of 14 were supposed to leave for Paris. However, noone is home. A wish he made the night before after he got in trouble was that he wished theyd all just disapperar. He thinks his wish was granted, not realizing there was a miscount and they forgot him. He enjoys being on his own at first, but slowly begins missing them.

Meanwhile, burglars try to break into the house and steal the valuables. He whips up some pranks and the police take them to jail.

Eventually his family comes home. A great family holiday movie. Its a comedy, but is touching at the end.

Summary: Home Alone is One of the Best! Even After Ten Years!
Review: I have been watching this film since it came out in '90. I was just 2, but I loved it. It's one of the best holiday movies ever. Even now, being 14, I still love it. Culkin was such a cute kid and was excellent in this (although I don't remember him being so little). I saw this again recently for the first time since, and I loved it just as much. I recomend this to smaller kids who weren't around to expieriance it when it was released to see it because it's a classic. =)

Summary: One of the best Christmas movies ever!
Review: What can I say?! I love this movie. It is one of my favorite movies to watch over and over again at Christmas time. I also watch it any other time of the year if I want to lift my spirits. This is a fun and imaginative movie. I love the house that the movie is shot in. It is my dream house and with all the Christmas decorations it makes it look wonderful.

Summary: Beware: Poor quality transfer from video
Review: "Home Alone" is one of our favorite Christmas movies, so this year, after owning it on tape, we got the DVD. I wanted to see it in widescreen and with digital quality picture and sound. We popped it in the player and immediately noticed that the picture quality was no better than tape. In fact, many of the flaws from the tape are accentuated on the DVD. The widescreen is nice and the sound is better, but it doesn't make up for the fact that this was a pretty shoddy job of transferring a classic to DVD. How very sad.

Summary: excellent film, poor DVD
Review: I purchased what was labeled a Widescreen (16x9 aspect ratio )DVD of Home Alone.
What I received was a 4x3 version with the top and bottom of the frame chopped off.
I was able to verify this with my 4x3 VHS tape version of Home Alone. The transfer to DVD was so poor it had barely a sharper picture than my VHS.

It's a shame such a fine film should be butchered for what is otherwise a decent medium.
It's bad enough that the left and right side of the frame is chopped off for the 4x3 version and most widescreen versions with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, but to further cut off the top and bottom is a disgrace.
