Rating: Summary: very pure and charismatic, just plain beauty and innocence! Review: I think this is probably one of the best movies I have recently seen. A true classic based on human spirit and innocence. Story of sacrifice and victory for it. I highly reccomend it to whoever likes a good charismatic, but at the same time pure and simple movie.
Rating: Summary: Creativity,Innocence, and Loyalty! Review: The simplicity of a child's needs and vision mixed with their loyalty to family, and each other. This is a film of remarkable spiritual beauty! This is a film that is like seeing gorgous painting unfurled in front of you. A remarkable story of uunselfishness and simplicity! Children of Heaven is a gift to the sences!
Rating: Summary: A perfect practice to remind you the beauty of life Review: If you want to help your kids to understand how they can keep themselves proud of life, while they think they have some shortages in their life, you have to get this movie and enjoy the story. It is astonishing how a brother and sister handle to share one pair of shows between themselves and keep the life going the best possible way. This movie is excellent for understanding beauties of life.
Rating: Summary: If you didn't cry in this movie, you don't have a heart. Review: A magnificent manifestation of human dignity and poverty. The movie has made me to be a better human being at least for a while. A clever display of peverty-stricken children without letting the audience to feel sorry for. We have not heard the last of Mr Magidi.
Rating: Summary: Fascinating story of two children and one pair of shoes. Review: This movie is a perfect example of how a film can be made beautifully effective without having to resort to raw sex, constant violence, or complicated plots. It is the simple but charming story of two poor children, a brother and a sister, who must share one pair of shoes because the brother, during his walk home from the shoe repair loses his sister's shoes. The loss of the shoes brings on all the difficulties with which they must now cope. The film tenderly shows how they strive toward resolution of their problem. The dialogue is kept minimal, and yet the director has achieved a very solid tension that keeps your eyes glued to the screen from the opening frames till the very end. This film beautifully shows a world of which most Westerners are completley unaware, a world that is so different from our own. The bulk of the film is carried very capably, on the shoulders of two small, young children, and they do a totally magnificant job of making you believe this very lovely, charming, and worthy film. This is the stuff for which Oscars are made.
Rating: Summary: Great and creative movie Review: This movie has an excellent plot and story. The Iranian film makers come through once again. Creative and witty!
Rating: Summary: Depth, love and life thru' the eyes of a child Review: The apparent simplicity of this film hides the depth and wonder of a story which explores the wonder of being human and of love. A boy's search for his sister's shoe turns out to be an exploration of innocence: how our tinest actions could embody a universal and unselfish desire that can only come with love and openness to the drudgery and broken side of life. Truly a masterpiece. Life will be poorer if not for films like these...
Rating: Summary: Fantastic, heartwarming and introspective. Review: This wonderfully touching film should be required viewing for all siblings. The close-ups of these precious children were well done without appearing redundant. The film matter would seem like it should be slow moving when, in fact, the minutes flew by. Very well done.
Rating: Summary: A TOUCHING STORY ABOUT RELATIONSHIP OF CIBLINGS Review: IN A COUNTRY WITH SUFFOCATING ATMOSPHER FOR THE ARTS AND INTOLERANCE FOR CRITICISM OF THE REGIME, THE DIRECTOR IN A SUBTLE WAY MANAGES TO SHOW THE SUFFERING OF THE PEOPLE. THE PERFORMANCES OF THE CHILDREN IS OUTSTANDING. THE MOVIE MADE ME FEEL ASHAME OF MYSELF FOR ALL THE "HAVES" THAT WE ARE ENJOYING IN THIS COUNTRY WITHOUT REALLY APPRECIATING THEM!! AFTER WATCHING THE VIDEO YOU MAY GET THE URGE TO BUY A DOZEN OF CHILDREN SHOES AND SEND THEM TO IRAN.
Rating: Summary: extraordinary and beautiful film Review: A brother and sister, living in the poorest section of Teheran, struggle with the problem that they have only one pair of shoes between them. Sounds boring? It is not! It took me into a place I will never see. It was moving and sweet. I am afraid that the Star Wars generation will not sit still for this - if only they would.
