Rating: Summary: H02 ERROR Review: 1.5 years after I bought it, I got the error. The estimation cost is 230 $CAN. I lost my money. I wrote to Panasonic. They should at least give a great rabate to buy a new one. The sound quality is great, but don't never buy that product.
Rating: Summary: H02 Message on Panasonic DVD Player Review: Absolute worst DVD player. I bought a Panasonic 4 months back and watched around 40 DVDs. Now I am getting a message H02 and DVD player stops. Panasonic customer is the worst. They will not tell you what the error means and asked me to take the unit to an authorized service center which is 40 miles away...I can buy a new DVD player for [the price of repair from the service center].
Rating: Summary: No Zoom--Letterbox [or 4:3] only on a regular 4:3 television Review: After reading the other 2 reviews raving about the quality of the progressive scan, I rushed out and bought this thinking I would be ready for I upgrade to widescreen HDTV. Unfortunately, this DVD player will ONLY play a movie in [either] the letter box mode [or standard 4:3]. You cannot zoom in (I thought all players did that?). On a conventional 4:3 aspect ratio television, I prefer to view a DVD somewhere in between letter box & full screen. Therefore, I'm returning this.
Rating: Summary: Nice features, broke after 5 weeks Review: Before purchasing this product perform a google search with the following words 'Panasonic DVD H02' H02 is the error message you get then the word stop. The DVD is in need of repair and the Panasonic customer service center will do nothing except point you to an authorized service center. I got 5 weeks, watched 3 movies. Read other reviews stating they did good and only got this error after 8 months when 4 is typical. I wish I would have done a little more research before purchasing. The Panasonic Customer Service Center is the absolute worst !!! I will avoid Panasonic based on my experience.
Rating: Summary: Exceptional Value. Review: Excellent DVD player for the money a nice addition to any home theater system.
Rating: Summary: Not recommendable Review: Folks, save your money and don't go for that machine. After about 8 weeks mine broke three times with that famous H02 error, no chance to get it work again. Normally Panasonic makes great products, no doubt bout that but nevertheless they should think about to fire their DVD labs and headhunter someone from Sony ... Regs

Rating: Summary: Disappointed Review: Great DVD when it works, but it broke in 12 months!!! No picture output. Probably only played 20 dvds during that time. Now its an expensive CD player!! Not recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Panasonic RP-56, best for the money- Review: Great product. But the 480 prog. scan video does not compare to the 1080i. I watch on my RCA HDTV (mod 38310), on both over the air and satelite feeds.I can hardly wait for technology to allow HDTV from DVD at 720p or 1080i. But for now I guess we will have to put up with the old standard def. At least it is Digital and progressivly scanned. The audio, 5.1 Dolby digital sound is awesum along with D.T.S souround sound.Concert and musical DVD movies blew me away.
Rating: Summary: An overall great deal Review: Hello, my family and I have recently purchased the Panasonic rp56 dvd player for $229. First, I would like to make a general statement. Everyone says how nice the colors look on this player in comparison to to the composite cables they were using before. Well of coarese these colors will look better, they are component which is required when using a progressive scan dvd player. Why dont you try using s video insteade. I must admitt that you will only see a difference between s video and component video if you are using a large screen hdtv, large being 45inches or bigger. If you have a non widescreen color tube tv, a progressive scan player will do nothing for your tv. This having been said let me talk about the positives about this player. For those of us with the hdtv's the component outputs and progressive scan will give you a smoother and more vibrant picture, vibrant relating to the color. It uses the sage chip for deinterlacing, which is one of the best out there. The only bad things about this player are, the remote sucks, there is no zoom, it has no coaxile outputs for the sound, and it is not built super solidly. Beilive me thought, these are all small cases. All and all, if you are in the market for a new dvd player, and you have an hdtv, and are looking for the best picture around, pick the rp56
