Review: Just want to emphasize its compatibly. There is no dvd code restriction on this player! It plays all discs my friend bought in Asia. Of course, it also smoothly plays dvd I rent from blockbuster. wonderful!!!

Summary: Inexpensive, but good
Review: I bought this unit after having been extremely disappointed by my first DVD player. The previous player was a JVC XV-523GD unit. I had been buying JVC electronics for many years because I could rely on their quality. That time, they lost my confidence because the player began to pixelate and freeze after about 30 minutes of playing.This Apex unit earned what JVC lost. The unit is a fraction of the cost of my previous DVD player and has worked infinitely better. I was cautious about this purchase, but the low price gave me the confidence to give it a chance. The remote control has a good selection of features. Everything I needed was there. As with most such devices these days, you need the remote to do most of the advanced functions. I found one quirk in that sometimes the DVD drawer would not open when the button was pushed. It might take a couple of tries to get it to eject. Not a big issue, but a bit odd. The picture is clear and the adjustments work well. The zoom has levels of 2x, 4x and 8x, which are sufficient for me. In all, I am quite pleased with this inexpensive unit. It violates my previously held belief that I needed to stick with known brands in order to get good quality. Life is not that simple any more.

Review: I bought two of these DVD players. Neither produces an image or sound as good as my worst performing VHS player. Play quality is also very irregular. So, don't waste your money . . . buy something else . . . or don't buy anything at all.

Review: It works great. Plays all my DVD's without skips or delay. The connections in the back are numerous (2 R/L cables, S-Video, Digical audio, composite, optical? Also plays window media which is awsome.

THERE ARE CERTAIN CD'S THAT I HAVE PURCHASED LIKE THE LIVE KORN CONCERT WHICH IS REALLY A TOUCHY DVD, IT WILL NOT PLAYBACK IN ANY OF MY TOSHIBA PLAYERS, WHICH COST OVER 250.00 EACH, AND AS I SAID BEFORE IF YOU BURN YOUR OWN DVD'S ON THE COMPUTER THIS WILL PLAY THEM BACK IN PROGRESSIVE SCAN , SOMETHING THAT ALOT OF DVD PLAYERS WON'T DO UNLESS YOU SPEND WAY MORE THAN 55.00. Review: I'm very happy with my new DVD Player.., it allows me to playback burned DVD's, multizone DVD's, also I can download videos from the WWW, and burn it on a Video Cd (VCD) or Super Video Cd (SVCD) and it looks great.
It also allow me to reproduce mp3 and audio CD's while I'm doing something else. It have a yummy screensaver that appear when you hold on the movie or while you listen to music.
It also reproduce Cd's with images..., a great feature...., cuz you can see with your friends and realtives your pictures. It allows you to rotate them, change the way they appear.
It's a great product !
I recommend it 101%.

Summary: Great product! . . . until it dies.
Review: I bought this unit four months ago. It worked fairly well - there were a couple of glitches that resolved. But now when I put in DVD, the LCD reads 'no disc', and it won't play anything at all. I have not been able to get any tech support either. Looks like I'll be shopping for another DVD player soon, and you can bet it won't be an Apex! The only reason I gave it one star is because 0 wasn't an option - too bad.
