Rating: Summary: Was good while it lasted Review: I bought the Sungale 8500 a little more than a year ago. It really has given me no problem until today. It died....with the DVD still in like the other reviewers did. I took it apart to see what was wrong and saw something had blown. By the way, you can get the DVD out by unscrewing the cover and then two more screws on the inside....very simple if yours breaks with a dvd inside. I'm just gonna chunk it and get a new one....but not Sungale after reading the previous bad review about their customer service.
Rating: Summary: Sungale 8500 DVD Player Review: I bought this DVD player 6 months ago. So far no problems.. If to say true i am very impressed with the quality and functions of this player. I bought this player because 1) It plays both PAL and NTSC format dvds 2)It uses 110V and 220 V , 3) it has a bunch of connectors including optical and digital coaxial 4) It has Karaoke 5)It is silver, slim. 6) It is very cheap -70 usd. I connected it to my Yamaha home theater and watched movies, it is wonderful. So, if you are thinking to buy this player buy it!. IT WORTHS THE MONEY YOU PAY !!!
Rating: Summary: Remotes go dead in a short time Review: I have now purchased 4, yes FOUR Sungales hoping to enjoy their advertised features. The special features work fine! However, the machines are deadly. Within a short period, less than a year, the remotes on all 4 machines have gone dead. I have found no way to revive them, and without the remotes the "special features" can't be accessed.
Rating: Summary: Sungale/ Amoisonic -- A Descent to the Underworld Review: My journey with Sungale and their incredibly crappy products began almost a YEAR ago when I purchased the Sungale 8208 (now discontinued). The first machine had a faulty menu and I was sent an upgrade disk that promptly fried the machine. The next one I got died after a month with the DVD still in it (explain that to Blockbuster!). The next machine did the same thing. By then they could no longer replace the 8208 so for the amazingly low sum of 39$ I could get their NEW model, the 8500. Well, this has shown up at my house sans manual, sans control and currently the menu screen is flipping around the TV with the colors inverted (and yeah, it was hooked up correctly).SO, after all this time I'm still waiting. Oh, did I mention the 20-45 minute wait times to customer service (the ones that keep you on hold so long the battery drains from your phone?) or the unanswered emails? I am locked in a Sysiphean battle I probably have no chance of winning, but I doggedly keep calling, keep returning the product, keep fighting in the hopes that SOMEDAY I will get a Sungale product that works. My only hope is that you who are reading this will buy something, ANYTHING but a Sungale product.
