Summary: celebrate all Terry Prachett Fans
Review: This animation of Terry Prachett's second Witches of Discworld novel has stayed very true to the story. Fans will enjoy meeting DEATH, Verance and The Three Witches. Although you may not always agree with the faces the animators have given to your old friends, you will enjoy the voices. Christopher Lee joins the cast to provide the Voice of DEATH. The animation is of increadible quality and occasionally sureal. (sp) If you every wanted to know what the Hedgehog song sounds like when sung by Nanny Ogg, you have got to see this. :}

Summary: Dont miss Wyrd Sisters!
Review: This is an example of the rare occurance when a great book is made into a great movie. All the important elements of the book are included. None of the secondary charactors are compressed out. The charactors retain their unique qualities. Voices are well done, they sound just like I imagined them to sound when I read the books. No one is out of charactor. Its obvious that the screenplay writer, director and other important people involved with the movie were familiar with and enjoyed the book. I sure hope that this team continues to transform Terry Pratchetts work into films. Thanks!

Summary: excellent stuff!
Review: This is as funny as hell, suttle in places, and quirkiness at its best, "maysherestinpeace". I was in stiches. It followed the book very closely, than god!

Summary: Great but a little disapointing.
Review: This is really a very good adaptation of a very intricate novel from the disc. But it just didnt seem as funny as the books do, I think if anything is lost in the translation its a small amount of the comedy. However it was great finally getting to meet some of the characters and it is suitable for just about everyone.

Summary: Discworld Wyrd Sisters
Review: This is the full uncut animated series of Terry Pratchett's trio of heroines. The book upon which it's based is a tour de force of shakespearean allusions and laugh out loud gags. A shame, then, that the same cannot be said for this series. The casting seemed incredible: Annette Crosby (one foot in the grave) as Granny Weatherwax, June Whitfield as Nanny Ogg, Jane Horrocks as Magrat Garlick (both from Absolutely Fabulous). But their characterisation is limp and lifeless. To be fair, the animation is okay, with a nice CG turtle in the credits sequence. What really lets it down is the direction, which never seems to infuse the characters with the life they need, or the farce the story contains. Soul Music is a much better attempt.

Summary: Very faithful to the book
Review: This video collection is an excellent adaptation of the book, faithful but simplified. It's definitely an English comedy -- the humor is low-key and conversational. Not a knee-slapper by any means, but still funny. Two previous reviews observed that the animation was either excellent or awful. Perhaps the best adjective is "thorough" -- it's not primitive or cheaply done in the style of some throwaway American cartoon animation (i.e. no cheesy animation "loops" or other shortcuts) but the drawing itself is in a style that people might not care for. Some American viewers might have trouble following the dialogue.

Summary: bad animation, but faithful adaptation of WYRD SISTERS
Review: This video is extremely faithful to the original novel, but the animation is primitive and Magrat's voice is an irritating monotone. (But Granny's voice is perfect) All that aside, it was such a pleasure to see Discworld brought to life that I'd recommend this to any other diehard Pratchett fans.

Summary: Stan Lee would rate it Excelsior /Stan Lee diria:Excelsior!
Review: Well, just like Soul Music, some charaters are badly drawed...
The label says it is 150 minutes long, but it takes only 2 hours.
BUT its a pretty great film and not of the mentioned "blisters" are important.you can safely watch this tape with people you want to respect you: they'll not blame on you if you puke your lungs out on laughs during the movie, because they'll be doing the same!!!...

Summary: Discworld Brought to Life
Review: When I bought this disc more than a year ago, I had read 2-3 Terry Pratchett books, my fiance had read none. With her not being a fan of fantasy, I was pleased that she liked Wyrd Sisters so much. In the last year we have watched this movie over 100 times. We put it on anytime we are feeling sick (or hung over) or just need a nice bed time story. The typical Pratchett wry humor lasts and lasts, and after so many viewings, I still find little nuances I have never noticed. I just ordered Soul Music, and if it is 1/2 as good as WS, I will be a very happy customer.
