Summary: Read this before you buy this!
Review: "Legend of Zelda-Ganon's Evil Tower" is the Best movie I have ever seen. Myself being a 34 year old man love this movie, I watch it every day with my 2 sons. I grew up with Zelda and now I am passing it on to them. Other websites also sell this item but for much more. This is a grAneat deal and is the perfect gift. And the graphics are fantastic!!! I am telling you... you have to pay this!

Review: Although I am impressed with the covers of these DVD's, I am extremely disappointed with these DVD's in general. Dic/uAV corp have been releasing these episodes in completely random order, in an age where almost every company is releasing DVD's as full sets. Take for example, Simpsons, Family Guy, Smallville, and MegaMan Cartoon, released by professional companies. All these DVD's are being released in episode chronological order, full and complete. These have been selling like mad, and fans are very satisfied with the product they are sold. However, Dic/uAV (i've never even heard of this company) decices to screw any remaining shred of order in these episodes and toss them to consumers randomly, and incomplete. They even put shows from completely unrelated series onto the disks!!! i.e. Putting Sonic Underground episodes on a Zelda DVD??? That's wrong for so many obvious reasons. As for the DVD's themselves, they are poor. There are only three Zelda episodes on the disk and two completely unrelated Sonic Underground (which is a horrible series by the way). The quality is just average, the menus are terribly sloppy, and the extras are really dumb (ex. a stupid quiz hosted by Inspector Gadget-and what in the world? Inspector Gadget???). These DVD's are poor. Random episodes, low budget production. We need these classic cartoons in chronolgical order so we can enjoy them to their fullest. I've never heard of this uAV corp, but they need to do some serious work on the production and organization of these DVDs. They are ruining classics! We need these episodes released as a set and in chronoligical order!!!

Summary: Torturously delightful
Review: Before adding further graphical and thematic elements with "A Link to the Past" in 1992, DIC came out with this loveable series of Zelda-based cartoons. While only three episodes - "The Ringer," "The White Knight," and "To Catch a Queen" - are available here on this newly-released DVD, it is just enough to capture the essentials behind the foundation of such a long-lived and successful cartoon series. Staying true to the original "Legend of Zelda" Nintendo game, rather than its atypical sequel, these cartoons maintain Zelda's game-type atmosphere while enhancing the personalities of characters involved and spicing things up with some light-hearted comedy. Those familiar with later titles and appearances of relevant characters will be surprised with these cartoonists' character depictions, but given the detail of graphics these animations were based upon it is hardly surprising. How would professional cartoonists, rather than gamers, know that Ganon was actually a well-built and fiery-haired man, rather than the piggish humanoid suggested by early programmers? Other nonhuman renderings are equally misinterpreted, but this flaw hardly diminishes from the enjoyability and overall fun-filled atmosphere created in this episodic series. Every installment takes on a plot structure in which a set of events will likely occur: Ganon will attempt and fail to steal the Triforce of Wisdom, Link and Zelda will attempt and fail to steal the Triforce of Power, and Link will attempt and fail to kiss the Princess Zelda. In the end, characters are left right where they started, but everybody but Ganon is still happy and laughing. There's enough attitude and entertaining moments in this series to last far more than the prescribed fifteen minutes running time. Whether for your children or yourself, buy this DVD! You'll feel like you've spent a lifetime in magical Hyrule.

Summary: Release all 13 episodes!
Review: C'mon DiC. This cartoon is a classic and if you have any ounce of respect for your customers or yourselves you'd release Zelda in its entirety on one disc. Yes, that's right, one disc. There are only 13 episodes which are actually only 15 minutes long each! The half hour episodes on television contained commercials (of course) and introduction filler. So essentially if you (...) didn't add those 2 sonic underground episodes 3 more episodes of zelda could be on this disc instead!
But the point is you can actually fit thirteen 15 minute episodes on a single dvd in chronological order and it would sell amazingly well!
5 stars for the show, 1 star for DiC's (...) dvd.

Summary: Good, but where are the rest of the episodes?
Review: For those of us who grew up on the NES the "Super Mario Bros. Super Show" carries some great memories. It was no masterpiece, but it came pretty close every Friday when Mario & Luigi took a vacation and Zelda & Link took their place. Sure, the animation was bad and the writing not much better; the stories rarely had anything to do with the games; the shows were too short, almost all of them feeling rushed; worst of all, there were only thirteen episodes. However, as a show based solely on the undeveloped characters and their world from our beloved games, it works. The writing often shines in the banter between the various characters and the pace never lags. I'll spare you the in-depth critique, though; this is supposed to be a DVD review. The video is better than what we've seen in the past and way ahead of the MPEGs I've been watching. The higher resolution almost makes the picture too clear, at times further revealing shortcomings in the animation. I'm certainly not complaining; despite some scratches, it looks great. Audio is an acceptable 2.0 DD track. The disc contains the first three episodes: "The Ringer", "Cold Spells", "The White Knight". There are also two "bonus" episodes of "Sonic Underground". First, why are there only three episodes? There's enough room on the disc for at least one more. Second, eliminating those two "Sonic Underground" episodes would leave room for a further three episodes. UAV could've released all thirteen episodes on only two discs(or even one RSDL or dual-sided disc) if they'd so desired. Let's hope they continue on and release the other ten episodes. Another authoring problem(or nitpick) involves the layout of the disc. The episodes are all under one title(separated by chapters), but the intro and exit sequences are only played once each(before "The Ringer" and following "The White Knight"). As I said, this probably belongs under the category of "nitpick". This release came in under my radar and was a pleasant surprise. The price is low, but the value isn't great since there are only three episodes. I'm sure only fans will be buying it, anyway. Perhaps with the next release they'll either include more episodes or some good extras(commentary by the actors and/or writers would be awesome).

Summary: Bear with me...
Review: I actually bouht this DVD on a whim with some friends, and since we're all video game freaks, we found the DVD not interesting, but just plain hilarious. If you need to laugh and feel good in bad times, pop this in and the fun begins. the animation is terrible, the voices are horrible and the plots suck big time. We love it. It's just incredible how something so stupid made us all so happy. Unless you're a Zelda fan, you might not understabd or care for the DVD. You might even be better off renting it first. Have fun.

Summary: Good cheezy fun for Nintendo fans
Review: I grew up the Nintendo cartoons from the 80's and am glad to see them on DVD. This series is based on "The Legend of Zelda", one the greatest video game series of all time, but will appeal to anyone who likes fantasy adventure. The basic story is that Princess Zelda and Link the adventurer are the keepers of the mystical Triforce of Wisdom. In between arguments, they must protect the Triforce from Ganon, an evil wizard who holds the Triforce of Power. Whoever brings the two Triforces together will rule the land of Hyrule. Since the cartoon is based on the first two games in the series, anyone who had only played the more recent games (i.e. Ocarina of Time onward) may be confused by some of the character's appearances and names. For example, Link in the cartoon is brunette when he's blond in the modern games. Also, his horse is Catherine in the show but Epona in the games and there are only two triforces instead of three. The DVD has bonus episodes of the "Sonic Underground" show. I haven't watched these yet but I know that they're not the same episodes that are on the "Sonic Underground" DVD.
