Summary: Still The Fairest of Them All : Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs
Review: This is the very first Animated Feature Film ever created from pure fantasy with help from the Brothers Grimm and the talented Walt Disney. When it came to childish fantasy and whimsy, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was born unto the mind of a very gifted man . Children and adults alike toyed with the idea, year after year, out of every masterpiece Walt ever made which feature would be better than the next. In 1937 his first achievement grew beyond the distant horizon and started a phenomenon to this day that is irresistable !

Voiced my Adriana Caselotti, 14 year old Snow White was the the heroine of this fantasic tale. The seven little men were drawn and voiced excellently by 1937's finest animators, comedians and actors including Pinto Colvig also known as the voice of Goofy. Now known as the 9 Old Men, these animators were put into school and taught on a regular basis at night, and working the on feature film Snow White, during the day all around the clock for the finest quality Walt Disney could ever ask for.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs jump started the Feature Animation department for what is widely known now as the Walt Disney Studios. It also gave a basis for 1939's inspired Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Contributing now to all these factors and many, many insightful more I give this movie.

Summary: Disney Magic to the third power!
Review: The brilliant transfer of the Original Disney Classic to DVD format is sheer perfection of an already marvelous media. Not only do you get the orginal film that stood unrivaled since it's 1937 debut, but this DVD also includes special commentaries as well as a fantastic interactive video trivia game. -- I was privileged to receive an advance copy of this DVD and could enjoy this cinematic delight weeks prior to its official release date. My expectations of any Animated Disney Feature were surpassed. This isn't just Disney Magic, it's the best entertainment package on DVD I've seen yet!*****

Summary: not Disney's best
Review: I am sorry, but I was never impressed with Snow White. I'm sorry if that sounds offensive, because obviously this is a movie that has been a classic for many years, but...I have known this film for many years, and I have never been able to understand how it can be regarded as children's movie material. I am much older now, but it still creeps me out.

Disney has made many, many praiseworthy and wonderful movies: Aladdin, Lion King, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty....those are the kinds of movies that I would happily show my children. Snow White completely and totally misses its target audience...yes, it's a classic, but they may as well have made it a live-action movie because it's not much of a child's film.....alright, so maybe that's a little exaggeration. There are some very sweet and memorable scenes in this movie with Snow White and the beloved and sweet dwarfs....but they could have gone a little easy with the villain and the evil side of the story. This is a Disney movie that brings out the dark issues of irrational jealousy, murder, and things along that line. I am sorry if this sounds offensive...this is just the way I always viewed the movie, and I would not want my own children to watch it.

Summary: The Essence of Disney
Review: This is, without doubt, the crown jewel of the Disney collection. There isn't a frame in this movie that isn't gorgeous, and the storytelling is Disney at his best; truly timeless. This is an absolute must-have for any Disney fan or anyone with young children.

Summary: On the topic of widescreen...
Review: Before you mindlessly complain here that this DVD does not contain a widescreen version of the film, enlighten yourselves by reading the package for once. Right there under Technical Specifications on the back of the package it says "Original Theatrical Aspect Ratio." That's right. Like most of the early Disney movies, "Snow White" was produced in 1:33:1 full frame. I believe the first widescreen animated film ever produced by the stuido was "Lady and the Tramp" in 1955, and even after that many were still created in fullscreen. The recent animated features are all in widescreen, but most of the earliest were not. So don't worry; what was seen in theaters in 1937 and in subsequent theatrical reissues of this movie just happens to fill your screen now. This is not a reformatted "pan and scan" presentation, it is the film as it originally appeared. So stop complaining, sit back, and just enjoy the magic that is "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."

Summary: All children must see this!
Review: I personally believe that all children must see this movie. It's a classic fairy tale where a beautiful daughter (Snow White) has to ward off her jealous evil stepmother. Eventually, Snow White has to escape through the forest to a little cottage where she meets the 7 Dwarfs, who let her stay with him. Then, her stepmother finds her and tries to kill her by giving her a poisonous apple. The only cure is a kiss from the handsome prince. Will he come in time? Duh! This is a Disney movie! Of course, he will! And they will all live happily ever after. Sure, it's predictable, but it's definitely still worth the time and money to see it.

Summary: Ahhh The Barbra Streissand song is soooo horrid
Review: I am not even a Barbra-hater... I kind of like her sometimes.

But that version of "someday my prince will come" is so horrible I have to dive at the VCR to make sure I am not tortured by a single note of it.
I don't think I have ever hated a song so much.

The kids like it.
Actually my 2 1/2 year old wont watch it because it is too "scary" but, I expect she'll like it someday.

I think the color might have been better on this version of Snow White. That was nice, though I couldnt really tell.
