Summary: Two great movies, together.
Review: The world was in awe of the original "Toy Story" when it debuted a few years ago. Disney and Pixar had created a new form of animated entertainment. Beyond that, it was a great movie. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen were the perfect choices to voice Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear respectively. And, it was a huge hit. A sequel became a fiscal responsibility.The original plan had "Toy Story 2" as being a direct-to-video sequel. Then Tom and Tim convinced Michael Eisner that the sequel was good enough to go to theaters. They were right. While not the awe-inspiring vision of the original, the characters carry this one to new heights. The site gags are brilliant. And, the newer characters help freshen it up. Plus, the Buzz vs. Buzz scene is a real treat. Do yourself a huge favor. Buy this one. You'll be watching and laughing for years to come.

Summary: One more time...
Review: I've seen this movie 4 times, and three were in the theatre. Now that I own it... well, who knows? Suffice it to say, child or adult, I haven't watched this movie with anyone who didn't laugh their way through it. I'm not sure what makes this movie so fantastic. It might be the amazing Pixar animation that leaves you wondering if they aren't sneaking in some "real stuff." It might be the great characters. Or it might be the intelligent humor that gently spoofs the world and other movies in a way that appeals to children and adults. Whatever it is, I'm going to keep watching and telling the jokes to my friends. And a note to those who watch this movie, you are in for a real treat if you can stick around for the outtakes.

Summary: A Toy Box Full of Fun!!!
Review: This 3 disc set is absolutely fabulous! The films themselves look wonderful and sound even better. The most amazing thing though is that Disney finally wised up and took full advantage of the DVD format. Loading up each disc with plenty of extras to keep kids and adults happy for hours!! The third disc allows the viewer to really go inside the movies and learn even more about how they were made. I don't know why the studio does not treat some of their other modern classics the same way when it comes to putting extras on their previous DVDs. Hopefully, Toy Story is a turning point and they include more commentary tracks, bloopers, and documentaries on future DVD releases. Until then, don't be left out of this toy box

Summary: If you loved the first, you're already converted.
Review: . . . the rest of us, however, may view this film more calmly. *Toy Story 2* dares to breach some pretty heavy themes, such as mortality, the transience of love, decay, among others. For youngsters, the resolution of these themes will be comforting; to adults, it will all be too pat (or should be!) at the end. In other words, don't bring up the grim stuff if you're not going to follow through. Having Woody say (and I'm paraphrasing), "I'll take the boy's love and affection for as long as it lasts" ranks up there with *Love Story*'s "Love means never having to say you're sorry" -- in other words, puerile . . . for ALL ages. Also, I found the animation distracting. It certainly shows an advance on the first film . . . but to what end? I realize this is probably a personal thing, but I spent far too much time during this movie trying to figure out what was "traced", computerized, or inked. It looked totally real . . . then it started looking like that old Dire Straits video (*Money for Nothing*). I guess I'm just not going to warm up to computer animation . . . and I'm betting ole Walt would feel the same.

Summary: A collector's set DVD review
Review: Another must to have in anyone's collection. The commentaries for both films are very good. The makers of the film point out inside jokes and other aspects of the animation and story. The first documentary is very good. The second documentary isn't as good as it is almost a repeat of the first. The supplemental disc mainly was a lot of text information on every aspect of making both Toy Story and Toy Story 2. Although this information is informative, it gets boring quickly in my opinion. The outtakes for the second film are very funny. Just like the animation characters were real actors on a set. The outtakes for the first film are mainly computer animation errors that aren't that interesting. I especially enjoyed the CBS Children's Hour spots that were included. I think over 50 10-15 second spots are included. Concept animation such as Tin Soldier, Luxo Jr. and some beta Toy Story animation are included too. Included in the supplemental disc are some deleted scenes that are mainly shorten scenes that are still in the original stories. Overall this set is worthy for just the stories alone. The extra features make this an essential DVD set.

Summary: Toy-tally amazing!!!
Review: If you liked, or even loved the "Toy Story" movies the two disc set is probably the thing for you. However, if you're the kind of person who likes to know how the whole thing is put together, a film student say, or just an overly curious viewer, this is the one to have. Both films come with audio commentary, Acamdemy Award winning and nominated short films, French language tracks, and are THX certified. "Toy Story" also includes a multi language reel (where Buzz and Woody's first encounter with each other is shown in some of the many languages the film was translated in),a making of featurette, & on set interviews with Woody & Buzz. But the best thing on this disc is the 'Toy Story treats', which are about 51 short almost commercials that Pixar created for ABC's Saturday morning cartoons to help promote the movie. They're nothing more than ten second blips with all the characters from the first film, and this is the first place you can see them all together.Really cool! The "TS2" disc includes the hilarious outtakes that were put in the film after its' initial release, and a rather dull and drawn out sneak preview of Pixar's next feature, "Monsters, Inc." But the real reason to spend the extra bucks is for the third disc. Every aspect of both films is covered from pre-production to publicity. Extensive interviews with the directors of the films include conversations about why they chose to do a sequel, as well as discussing traditional elements of the film making process. The art department of both films discuss specific locations, and both have original song demos from Randy Newman. There's also a great bit where they show you all the inside jokes the animators put into the second film.Even the menu screens for each of the sections is painstakingly thought out. In the liner notes John Lasseter,(The Director), says the set is "fun, it's entertaining, it's even scholarly. But most of all this DVD is a tribute to the geniuses I get to work with every day. Warm up your remotes, remember where your 'angle' button is-and get ready to ride!" A collector's dream gift.

Summary: For once, a sequel which greatly surpasses the orginal!
Review: The first film my child ever saw in the theater is now in our home and am I thrilled! This film is a nostalgic celebration of the imagaination of children if you're an adult and a rompous adventure if you're a child. Although the themes of abandonment and loneliness are a little complex for my toddler's view of the world, this is a true masterpiece of creativity and excitement! My almost 3 year old son much prefers this film over the first because Jesse is in it. With her first appearance on screen I find myself watching his delighted reaction rather than her ebullient entrance. He also has a renewed interest in his Buzz Lightyear doll and is almost like Andy in his desire to be with the toy constantly. The collection itself is a great idea as DVDs are certainly the way to go and the bonus material is fun and includes Luxo Jr and the Outakes from the theaterical release. If you haven't seen these films, you must and if you have, you should own it! A great film, an entertaining DVD, and a superb Saturday night for the whole family!

Summary: Mediocre Story 2
Review: The visuals are just as amazing this time around as they were in the first movie. Unfortunately, that's this movie's only good point. Since the characters are...toys...it's somewhat difficult to feel any sympathy or other emotions for them during the movie. The character development is, to say the most, weak. The characters feelings, traits, personalities, etc. aren't developed at all through the story. Likewise, there isn't even a clear story line throughout the entire movie. This movie truly deserves only 1 star, but remembering it is a movie for younger children, I am giving it 3.

Summary: Toy Story 2 is Not Just a Sequel
Review: This film was, at one point, slated for "straight-to-video" hell until Disney got it's head out of it's computer software and re-hired Tom Hanks and Tim Allen to make this wonderful "Toy Story" sequel. Faster, bolder, and even MORE human than the first, "Toy Story 2" takes the "toys as humans too" concept to such lengths that you might find yourself feeling guilty about the way you treated your own toys when you were young. It's a wild ride, definitely one for the kids, and it comes highly recommended by me.

Summary: Yeeehaaa!!
Review: I thought that the movie Toy Story 2 starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, was one of the best disney movies ever made. It completely by passed the original. Jessie the Cowgirl(voiced by Joan Cusack) made the movie more appealing, what with the song " When She Loved Me", by Sarah McLaghlin. This made the movie more heartwarming than ever before. Toy Story 2 is a must see movie!!!
