Summary: No Disney magic here.
Review: I kinda envision at the end of the original Cinderella as she and the Prince are being carried away for their honeymoon that they DO live happily ever after, and she leaves her conniving stepmother and stepsisters in the dust. Not so with this movie! Cinderella comes back from her honeymoon, with baggage (stepmother/stepsisters) waiting for her at the castle, where the royal decorum committee snatch Cinderella and try to ingrain Princess-like behavior into the (already graceful, at least in the original) former maid. Then, Jaques the mouse has an identity crisis and has the fairy godmother turn him into a human for a few shallow minutes. Cinderella gives Anastasia a makeover (which doesn't help much) so she can try to win over the baker. This movie is not at all what I expected, the story is shoddy and underdeveloped with too many subplots going on all at once. Also, whoever sings the (also shallow) songs on this movie has a horrible voice (think of Britney Spears meets Gwen Stefani...it ain't pretty), and the hilarious interaction between the Grand Duke and the King in the original is nowhere to be seen in this flop. Granted, my 3 year old likes it and I guess that's all that matters, but I think it could have been much better.

Summary: Ignore those negative reviews!
Review: I was a bit hesitant to buy this on DVD last week because of all the bad reviews. I must say Disney proves it can make a good movie! The three short but sweet tales flow together wondefully. Tale One, about Cinderella's first day in the castle, Tale two about Jaq turning into a human to help "Cinderelly", Tale Three about Anastaisa falling in love, go together great to make a good sequal. I admit the animation wasn't as good as the first, but I really do enjoy watching this movie. Then there is a five minute feature on the music of the movie, a game and a DVD storybook to lengthen the magic of the DVD. The only setback about the DVD is that it its not Widescreen. That however, does not spoil my opinion of this wonderfull sequal!

Summary: Be Fair: This is one of the few good sequals!
Review: A traditionally animated Disney sequal has not been this good since "The Lion King II." I CANNOT believe it has gotten so many bad reviews. I mean, if you're looking for a movie to rightfully call dumb, lame, boring, and uninspired, I say, review "Peter Pan II." That surprised me unpleasantly as well with so many good ratings. "Cinderella II" is funny, cute, entertaining, and though not exceptionally original, it has very catchy songs. (Even though I usually detest pop and admit that pop does not suit Cinderella.) As for the statement that Lucifer was killed in the first movie, I have this to say: What planet are you from?!?!?!?! What Cinderella have you been seeing?!?!?!? Nothing could be farther from the truth. Do you think Disney would have killed that cat? And HOW did he die, pray tell? He didn't. Yoish. Glad to have cleared that up. Now, admittedly, there are a few things that could have been improved in this film. First of all, the Prince is despicable. He doesn't seem to care a thing for Cinderella. He was probably off fooling around with someone else in the first story. And he looks and sounds like every other Disney prince. But he serves as a person to make fun of, so it's not a total loss. And the king was so interested in grandchildren in the first movie. Here he never mentions it once. But despite small things like that, the movie (or series of separate, tied-together plots, which is not a problem, as I see it) is really good. It moves quickly and doesn't drag out. Fat people are made fun of a little, but there is other humor too, including some you have to be creative to find. I pause parts and watch them in slow motion and they look hysterical. Try the king flying through the air or the cat jumping on Sir Hugh. I watched this with several friends and family members and they all found funny things. My one friend thought Mary said "Shut up! That was so brave!" instead of "Jaq! That was so brave!" Now that's as inside joke with us. And we like the part where Prudence goes "Hyah!" when she gets yanked out of a conversation. It's so funny. The voice acting in this movie is terrific, especially considering there is nothing but a bunch of nobody's in Return to Never Land. Just as a comparison. Indeed, there are a few unanswered questions. What is it like being married to the Prince? We hardly see him. He has no opinions, no personality, no depth. Why does Anastasia all of a sudden just fall in love with a nice but overall unattractive baker? Anyway, people shouldn't be so harsh when rating this movie. They liked the romance from the first one. Well, this movie has double it. Almost everyone gets paired up. So I like Cinderella II. I absolutely knew I was going to hate it before it came out; I was prepared to hate it. I mean, a sequal to Cinderella? It seemed so wrong. Well, it just goes to show you. I was wrong.

Summary: Surprisingly cute
Review: How to you continue a story that ends with "happily ever after?"
I thought a sequel to Cinderella was a really bad idea. But I found these stories about life after the wedding to be quite refreshing. This movie doesn't try to compete with the original, or to compete with any other Disney sequels, but instead, tells some cute little stories based on some familiar characters. Cinderella has spunk, and how she uses that to bring around some stodgy characters is inspiring. My three and five year old liked it.

Summary: Enjoyabe Movie!
Review: My children and I really enjoyed this movie. I personally like the many story within a story approach. It ties up a lot of loss ends. My children love the music. The movie also has a few dilemmas that flex young children's thinking (ie. doing what you believe in, helping a friend). To those that expect more than this, remember, this is just a movie. Smile!

Summary: heartbreaking
Review: When I was 10 the Disney folks released Cinderella for the first time on video. I saved for weeks to buy it, and ten years later I bought a 2nd copy, because my first was worn out. I cherished this movie (and still do). I am still swept away by the animation of the ball. I was overjoyed (and a little wary) when I heard about Cinderella II. I rented it first. While watching it I felt a thud as my heart hit the floor and broke. I wanted so much more from this movie. It is disjointed and jumpy, has not consistancy. It completely lost the magic of the orginal. I really wish that the Disney folks would think things through before they tarnish the memory of their classics like this. I just expected so much more!

Summary: A sequel that NEVER should have been brought into existance
Review: I read some reviews about this movie and they were mixed. So I decided to find out for myself if this movie was any good. And it wasn't. All my brothers and sisters thought this was BORING. Plus the animation was horrible. It looked more like a Saturday morning cartoon. Even worse, the voices were disgraceful! They were not even close to the original. Cinderella's voice makes me shudder. I also can't believe one of the stepsisters "falls in love". They weren't supposed to have any emotion! Lucifer's back too yep. I know some people love him but he was killed in the first one! Overall i think this was the worst movie in the world. Even Little Mermaid 2 was better than this. If I could I'd give no stars to this movie.

Review: Disney's not been a favorite of mine lately, but I gave in and bought this. IT IS HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE! My daughter didn't like it and she loves the original.

Summary: What a Waste of 73 Minutes of My Life
Review: Attention all Disney Fans: DON'T EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME! Luckily, I only rented this video, otherwise I would be ready to take some legal action. From the first 5 minutes of the movie I was bored, but I kept telling myself "It has to get better. It's Disney, right?" Boy, was I wrong. This shouldn't even be considered a movie, it's more like a Cheap Cartoon. Also, it is as if they rushed through the entire movie making process. The colors are extremely dull and the scenery is anything, but eye catching. In the very first scene there is a pink sky. How believeable is that?! Furthermore, don't even get me started about the music. I never knew you could even put pop music and a sequel to such a classic movie in the same sentence. Does anyone else remember how great the singing was in the first Cinderella was? I feel sorry for all of the young kids in the world who want to base their life on Cinderella's, as I once did. Who would want to do that after seeing this movie though? It is like a bad soap opera. I say this because each of the three "mini-movies" are just badly written love stories. Besides, the entire movie is totally predictable. I'm afraid I'll never be able to look at Disney the same. In my opinion, they should have taken their time adding some substance into this script instead of just trying to make as much money as they possibly can by marketing such a horrible movie! My final question for you all, is why couldn't they leave a classic as it was? Why must they try to surpass such a genuine thing? They had a legacy built with the first Cinderella. A legacy young girls from now to eternity would have tried to base their lives upon in their young years, but who would want to do that now when they see how bad the morning after is?

Summary: Title is Misleading....
Review: I really looked forward to this, thinking hey, it's a sequel to Cinderella! Wow! However, the title is misleading. What you get in this video is a series of three 'what-if' stories composed by Cinderella's mouse friends. With some 'Tom and Jerry' cat and mouse style scenes thrown in.

The first two tales are marginal at best. The third story had promise but fell flat... There is simply too little time to explore the growing relationship between one of Cindy's evil 'stepsister ' and the town baker, but this story was at least cute and intriguing.

The animation was defiantly B-Grade, and Cinderella's outdated 'do' is only out-matched by the plastic-like prince who has about four lines in the entire cartoon.

If I could suggest improvements, I would have expanded the third story, to make it a major subplot and TRULY explored the life of Cinderella after marriage. What's it like being married to 'Prince Charming'? Is there any conflict? How does Cinderella reconcile her differences with her 'evil' stepmother and stepsisters? Is being 'beautiful' and 'nice' enough to rule the kingdom, or does Cindy have to develop new skills, such as leadership, determination and political skills?
