Summary: Absolutely the best Disney soundtrack ever
Review: It's sad that many people have not seem this movie because it is "a cartoon", since this is one of the best movies ever made (great for kids, great for dates). The most impressive quality of the movie has to be the music. Over half the soundtrack of the movie is a masterpiece (most of the rest is excellent), worthy of mention in any "top-100 of all time" music chart. Another great thing about this movie is that it has a big heart. There was obviously an unusual amount of love placed into the drawing, the acting of the characters, the voices, the colors, the photography, and the direction. If this is not the best animated feature ever made, it certainly is among the top 10 of all time. Well worth your money and time. A great gift.

Summary: Gee, Grim! It's, uh, it's really somethin'!
Review: This seems to be the highlight of Disney animation. The Little Mermaid never seems to get boring, while the others get dry (no pun intended). This animated movie spawned pretty much every type of merchendice: video games, dolls, books, panties, happy meals, ice cream, socks, etc., etc., etc.

So why is this movie so good? It's not because of the subliminal message on the original cover. This is the kind of movie that puts everything together without burning the cake. The songs aren't bad either. Even if you hate Hakunamatata (or however you spell that stupid song) from The Lion King, Sebastian's Under The Sea actually has a nice rythm. Back on the subject, Ariel is the rebelious daughter of Tritan, the self-proclaimed king of the sea. Tritan becomes especially distraut when Ariel falls for a human fisherman, so Ariel seeks help from the Sea Witch, Ursula.

Summary: The Witch is Back!
Review: Yup, Ursula, Ariel, and the Prince Eric have all finally settled into a nice DVD. Imagine my chagrin when I discovered I could no longer watch my favorite Disney movie of all time because all I owned was *gasp* a DVD PLAYER!.

I know. I'm fifteen, and I still watch some Disney movies. But I'm okay with that. And now that I've finally got the DVD, I have to say I'm glad. I absolutely love this movie, what can I say?

This is the classic movie of the besotted mermaid turned human, given three days to snatch a kiss, and it's by far greater than some of the movies that Disney has been pumping out these days. (Okay, there have been some good ones, but the 2nd Little Mermaid ... ugh, gag me, I don't even want to go there.) True, there isn't much else to the DVD but the actual movie, but then I've worn my video cassette out. It ought to take me a little while to get this disc into that shape.

In any case, this is the same movie I cried at the theaters watching (I was two) and it still entertains me after thirteen years. A must have for Classic-lovers. (Four stars because of lack of extra goodies on the DVD. If you really want to find some behind-the-cartoon footage, I believe you can find interviews somewhere, because I vaguely remember watching some several years ago; I couldn't tell you where to find them though. Aren't I helpful?)

Summary: The best disney movie!!!!
Review: The little mermaid is my favourite disney movie. When I was young, I listened to this movie about a hundred time and I still watch it now. In case you didn't see this movie, it's the story of a young mermaid (Ariel) who wants to know everything about humans. She dream to become a human and her dream got realized by the evil witch of the sea Ursula. Ariel fell in love with Prince Eric but she sould never have trust Ursula. When she realize it, it's too late for her!!! This movie is a classic!! The biggest problem is that the DVD contain no extra!!! I WANT A TWO DISC SET DVD OF LITTLE MERMAID!!! Why does Beauty and the beast, snow white and lion king got special DVD and not little mermaid. It's a shame. I just hope they make one, one day.

Summary: A true Disney classic!
Review: This has always been a favorite movie of mine since childhood and I still love it as much as I did back in 1989 when it was in the theatres. It's truly a magical experience watching The Little Mermaid on DVD and both sound and picture quality is excellent. I just wish it had a good bunch of extras just like Beauty And The Beast had. (Another classic Disney movie!) I had The Little Mermaid in norwegian on video a few years ago but I played it so much it got worn out. Now I finally have it in top quality DVD format, but some scenes are a bit longer and scarier than on the norwegian video version I had. The scene towards the end where Ursula enlarges herself and creates a storm there is a bit where she shoots Ariel off a rock making her fall into the maelstrom that Ursula created with King Triton's fork. Ursula then tries to shoot Ariel but she manages to avoid being hit. Other longer scenes are Ariel and Flounder being chased by the shark in the shipwreck and Prince Eric discovering the dynamites onboard his ship just before it explodes. These small cuts were removed from the norwegian edition of the film, which I think is really stupid, cos they add that extra dramatic touch to it all. Overall, this is a fantastic movie with great animation, unforgettable characters and top class songs with "Part Of Your World" being my favorite, escpecially in the end where Ariel finally gets to marry Prince Eric. That whole scene just makes me cry and - don't laugh - I'm a 21 year old boy here...lol. However, I think this movie suits for people all ages, and it will always remain a true classic for years to come!

Summary: A "MUST HAVE" for ALL video libraries!
Review: I was a teenager when this came out...and it was the first movie I ever bought!! I still enjoy it today! A classic! You will not be disappointed in this one! The girl gets the guy, the crabby crab is funny, funny, funny and the story will keep you watching to the end! If you don't own this one - WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!?

Summary: Pure Magic
Review: I was three when the movie came out to theaters and it has been part of my life ever since then. I don't think there's ever been anything that appealed to me as much as The Little Mermaid has. I find it hard to write a review and find the right words to describe this movie. The Little Mermaid sparked something deep down in my soul a long time ago. It reminds you of your dreams and your hopes. It's pure magic! This movie touched so many people over the years and it's still waiting for another generation to do the same. Today or Tomorrow, even a hundred years from now this will remain one of Disney's greatest.
