Summary: Jem not just for kids in the 80's
Review: I was in college when this cartoon came out and it was my little sister's absolute favorite, favorite show(right up there with He-Man, She-Ra, GI Joe, The Transformers and the Thundercats). She had all the dolls, even the Misfits. I got hooked watching it with her. Sometimes it would be on in the mornings as I was getting ready to leave for classes and I had to watch it. It was a fun show to watch. Now I have daughters of my own and I want them to get to know Jem, Kimber, Shana and Aja. I got them a couple of the episodes, but I definitely want to see the rest. I am so glad Rhino put the first two seasons on DVD. My little sister will be thirty this year and I know she will get a big kick out of seeing this show again.

Summary: Exciting Adventure, Fashion, and Fame
Review: Jem has finally come to dvd and no one can be happier or more excited than me. I have loved Jem ever since it originally aired in the 80's. Jem is more than just a cartoon to me. It's a part of me. It taught me morals. It showed me how to care. It taught me to be independant. I'm a PROUD male Jem fan. When it went off the air I was forced to watch old carroded vcr tapes that did the show absolutely no justice at all. Thank goodness for Rhino. They have no idea how many people they have blessed and the lives they have touched. I am so thankful for this Jem dvd box set. I pray that seasons 3 & 4 of Jem make it to dvd to complete my collection. Again, thanks to Rhino Video.

Summary: Jem DVD Release is AWESOME
Review: Words can not express my pleasure with the four disc DVD review of the now first and second season of Jem. The DVD comes in a big package that opens like a book. Inside each of the discs is encased in a shell that is behind a characters images-Jem, Shana, Kimber and Aja. The backside of the opening case that protests the discs includes a picture of The Misfits. Enclosed with the set is a booklet-hot pink of course as is the rest of the casing is Jem's signature hot pink and yello color. The booklet has descriptions of all of the episodes and extras. One thing that baffles me, a lifelong Jem fan is that on the back of the DVD Jem's hologram sidekick Synergy's name is spelled Cynergi. It is spelled like that in the booklet mostly except for one or two entries where it is spelled Synergi. Oh yeah, the backside of The Misfits image is a picture of Jem & Rio kissing. It is great that we finally have Jem on DVD. The episode quality is awesome. I just got mine in the mail today from AMAZON and have not yet seen all 26 episodes but the ones I watched were of excellent sound and picture quality. The extras are awesome. Oh yeah, fans remember how on some of the episodes one character would be speaking but another characters voice would come out, I don't know if this was fixed or if the episodes were left in their original state, but it is great seeing Jem on DVD for the very first time. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a "watch videos" extra that will allow you to watch all of the Jem/Misfit music videos. The disc 4 contains all of the extras which include and interview by Samantha Newark the speaking voice of Jem and commentary by writer Christy Marx. Another AWESOME extra is notes from the Jem production bible. This gives fans a unique insight into the production of the show. One instance describes how song writers should give a synposis of the songs theme vs writing the song. It's filled with a neat little glimpse into the production of the show. Also included are those wonderful Jem public service announcements, "Doing The Write Thing Makes You A Superstar!". Of course this is just the first 26 episodes, which means no Jetta, Raya, Regine, Astral or The Stingers, but hopefully this first release will be a super smash and Rhino will release all remaining episodes in the very near future. You will not be disapointed in this release.

Summary: Jem DVD - Wow, I am soooo happy!!
Review: I have been waiting for this for so long! Before I've had to buy copies of Jem episodes off of Ebay or from traders and sellers who had old episodes on VHS but they were never good quality. I also rented as many Jem videos I could find from Blockbuster and Hollywood video and recorded those. But now it is actually coming out on DVD!!!!! We are sooooo lucky! I hope little girls nowadays can get a chance to see this cartoon, I know they will love it as much as I did when I was little. I'm 26 now, but I would still watch Jem any day!!! If you're a parent of a young girl, I highly recommend this cartoon, it has great songs, nice messages about friendship and pursuing your dreams, and wonderful characters. Buy this Jem DVD today!!!!

Summary: It's About Time
Review: When I first saw that this awsome set was coming out I screamed so loud and I was jumping up and down. I have always enjoyed watching these and I can't wait to buy them. Jem is my favorite chartoon maybe its because of the catchy songs or the cute outfits they always wore. I rember listening to my favorite song they did over and over until the tape broke "Deception" and it's still my favorite song. I watched this show with my 3 sisters and my mom and my mom got my sisters name from it Shana, of corse I liked the names Osha,Roxy,and Kimber more.This is truly a part of anyone who grew up in the 80's. I think everyone should buy this set.

Summary: The Holograms bring back great childhood memories!
Review: This all-girl cartoon rock group was so great[that], I never missed an episode. The Holograms had great songs, and storylines, and their lead singer JEM was just one of the kind, thanks to the amazing singing talents of Britta Phyllips. The Misfits were just as great, the Holograms weren't the only ones.

Summary: One more KING has returned.....(welcome back)
Review: JEM was the show everyone watched when I was growing up. Girls watched it for natural reasons, but guys also watched the show because it had great looking women, fashion matching Prince and the Revolution(which was cool then...but not so cool now), and a solid collection of great songs. The show had an excellent concept which I believe could still work today...with a new look, and new songs. One by one the giants of the 80's have returned and with this release(which is a shocker), we the fans of those shows come closer to the ultimate goal of all of our favorites at our command. Send a message of approval and pick up this DVD the first day it ships, and continue to move forward in the long process of bringing all the 80's classics home.

Summary: I am in heaven!
Review: My mom sent me all of my old dolls to give to my 4 yr old daughter. Boy did that bring back some memories. I had the Jem doll, Kimber and Danse.(...) I got online hoping to find some old Jem episodes on tape and could not believe my eyes when I saw that it was being released in seasonal sets in just 2 days!!!! My husband thinks I am nuts for being so excited. Says I look like a kid at Christmas, and you know what? I don't think I've ever been this excited even at Christmas. LOL I am now (...) pleased that they are releasing the 80s cartoons in boxed sets, because I would love for my kids to see the cartoons I grew up with. If I could run up and give those responsible for giving us a little bit of our childhood a big hug and kiss I sure would!!!! Thanks so much!!

Review: wow! im excited about this dvd. all lil girls that grew up in the 80s are goin to have a blast from the past with this one! at least the only episode of jem i have came across was a faded box cover vhs that has sat at a children section in a movie store for the past 20 years. now im goin to have them all.. hopefully in decent quality even! i dont recommend this dvd to anyone that isnt in love with the 80s because the 2-frame per second cartoon really puts JEM to shame.. in comparison to the high quality computer generated effects of todays world. jem for me is about memories...i like knowing that i grew up when cartoons were hand drawn.. but it makes me feel old! one thing i dont like about the dvd is the cover.. i dont think they picked a good picture for jem..it doesnt really look like her.. plus.. i think instead of goin for her looking like she is on a stage with the black background they should have made the dvd box pink or at least had a holographic image of jem going into jerrica.. im sure it would cost a lot but.. i think that would have been cool.. anyway.. take a gander at this dvd.. it will bring back some memories......
