Summary: A Jazzy Animated Classic from Disney
Review: Disney's 19th animated film tells the story of Mowgli, a young human found in the wreckage of a small boat by the panther Bagheera. He takes the young mancub to a family of wolves who raise the boy as one of their own. 10 years go by, and news begins to spread that the tiger Shere Khan, who distrusts Man, has returned. Fearing for Mowgli's safety, Bagheera agrees to take Mowgli to the nearest Man village, where he will be protected.Mowgli, however, doesn't want to leave the jungle, the only home he has ever known. He runs away from Bagheera and meets Baloo, a happy-go-lucky bear, and decides to be like him in order to stay in the jungle. It's up to Bagheera to convince the two of them that Mowgli will be safer in the Man village. Together, the three set out against the many hilarious and menacing obstacles that await them on their journey. A Disney classic, one of the best things about this movie is the voice work: Sebastion Cabot as the up-tight panther Bagheera; Phil Harris as the "jungle bum" bear Baloo; George Sanderson as Shere Khan, giving him almost an upper crust dignity; and in two of the best roles in the film, jazz star Louis Prima as the orangutang King Louie who wants the secret of man's fire from Mowgli so that he, too, can be a man; and Sterling Holloway as the sly snake Kaa who only wants the mancub for a tasy meal. The film is also full of great music, including "Trust in Me" and the ever-popular classics "I Wan'na Be Like You" and "The Bare Necessities." This is a family film full of fun, music and adventure that everyone is sure to enjoy.

Summary: Its got the bare necessities and a lot more
Review: We ranked this movie 15th of out 41 narrowly beating out the little mermaid. Could have been a guy thing because there are 4 males and 3 females in our family, and the girls wanted to rank Mermaid 15th. So, take your pick. If you're a girl in my family, this one is 16th and Mermaid is 15th. The strengths here are the cute retelling of an old story and some good music. We had a lot of fun by gathering the family together to rank the 41 Disney movies we have that include some cartoon work. All the kids, ages 6 to 27, participated along with mother and dad. Lion King was selected number 1 of the 41 as the family favorite, but narrowly. Peter Pan was 2. Pete's Dragon 3, Beauty & the beast 4, Sleeping Beauty 5, Snow White 6, Robin Hood 7, 101 Dalmatians 8, Fox and the hound 9, Cinderella is 10th, Rescuers 11, Hunchback of ND 12, Aladdin 13 and Aladdin King of Thieves 14.

Summary: THE VIDEO WORE OUT! Thank God it's on DVD!
Review: Get them before their gone. Our kids watched the video so much that it wore out. Great movie. Glad it's on DVD!

Summary: The jungle Book and Travelin Tyke
Review: The video is absolutley timeless. Still holds up to todays music and animation even though it's over 30 years old. I HIGHLY reccommend this one for any children under 6. Has anyone seen the Travelin Tyke video yet??

Review: This is a great movie for kids, but not teens or adults. Deffinatly do not buy it for anybody over 10 years old at the most. It's good other wise.

Summary: Jungle Book
Review: I live in Tanzania, East Africa. I saw this movie in Drive In Cinema some 15 years ago. It was the night I will never forget.
I remember it very much. What the movie has, the village homes made of straw like materials, Palm Trees, Jungle Scenery, the kind of boat feature in which Baby Mowgli was found are all here in real life. Including the moonlight scenery against background of jungle and Palm Trees. If you watch this movie in any African country, it will be a treasure in your memory and I keep watching this DVD over and over again. I am also looking forward to Jungle Book 2. Lion King is also another one which can match the specs. Nice work. Keep it up.

Summary: Walt Disney's last animated movie
Review: Walt Disney died when this animated movie was still being made. And it was released in 1967, months after Disney's death. And animated movies all started with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. And this movie is kind of like both Tarzan and George of the Jungle all in one. As the movie opens, a panther named Bagheera (Sebastian Cabot) finds a lost man cub all along in the jungle. So he brings the baby to a pack of woods and about a few years later the baby now growing into about 5 maybe 10 years old man cub named Mowgli (Bruce Reitherman). But Mowgli has to go to a man village because a tiger named Shere Khan has return to the jungle and is going to kill Mowgli because he hates hunters with gun and fire. But Mowgli wants to stay in the jungle, and finally Bageera gives up a lets him be on his own. And he meets a bear named Baloo (Phil Harris). Shere Khan is not in the mvoie until about the middle to end of the movie. So little time for a villian if Shere Khan is a villain.

Summary: This is a classic
Review: This, I think is one of the easier disney movies for kids to relate to because it doesn't get too complicated. It's about a little boy who loves the jungle and he has to leave it. Kids can easily relate that in a number of spectrums from leaving a friends house to the disappointment of bedtime. Bagheera and Baloo are absolutely adorable. They keep their animal mannerisms throughout the movie, which I find incredibly charming. For instance, Bagheera yowls if something falls on his tail.

Review: Aunque hoy se dice que sus los mas grandes éxitos de Disney son Blancanieves (por ser pionera), el Rey León (por marcar el renacimiento) y Toy Story (estrictamente de Pixar, como nueos pioneros); ninguna iguala al "Libro de la Selva", ya que aunque no respeta el texto original de Kipling 8como acostumbra Disney), ha sido hecha con lo mejor. EL DOBLAJE, es el mejor hecho en todos lo tiempos, el mejor en español nunca igualado, con figuras como Flavio, Luis Manuel Pelayo y el inigualable Germán Valdéz "Tintan"...Una película que TODOS deben tener, chicos y grandes, sobre todo en los países de habla hispana.

Summary: Buyers Beware!!!
Review: First of all, I would like to warn DVD buyers out there. There are many unlicensed copies of The Jungle Book as with many other Disney Videos. Most sellers of These Videos will use Phrases Such as, "All region," "Import," "Imported," "Will Play In All VCR's," "Does not have original case or artwork" "Does not have insert," "No Chapter index," etc. These Are not official US releases, Nore are they Official Disney Releases! They may be much cheaper, but The quality is not the same! You get What you Pay for! With that out of the way, I would also like to say that I love the Movie. It has been one of my favorites since I was a little boy.
