Summary: Rudolph The Red Nosed DOG of a movie
Review: Once apon a time there were classic pieces of entertainment, produced with integrity and with quality. The producers wanted to create a good product, made for a decent amount of money to go out and entertain people of the world. For this, they endeared themselves to many. We thanked them for their efforts many times over by faithfully watching this entertainment and purchasing the tape, sometimes purchasing multiple copies to give it to family and friends as presents.
This is a mighty lesson learned by many producers.
The Lesson in short is, make a film so good that everyone will want it, demand it, for many years to come.
Quality pays....something that the producers of this Rudolph
travesty have no clue about...or wish to ignore.
I was constantly shaking my head with disbelief as I watched this constipated pile of klump from beginning to end. The characters are amatuerishly designed, the story insipid and the animation is downright poor. The songs will put you to sleep in an instant...and so will the rest of this movie.
The only good thing about this movie is that it makes you appreciate the Rankin Bass stop motion classic so much more....
for the songs...the charm....the story...and the animation.
Buy that video and pass on this rotten remake!

Summary: About as fun as "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians"
Review: Once upon a time, there was a small, little-known stop-motion animation sudio- Rankin/Bass Pictures. With the help of General Motors, their first movie, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" was released on television in December 1964. It was an instant hit. But, with all classics come cheap remakes.........

"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer - The Movie"
----------------------------------------------------

Summary: Rudolph is the son of Blitzen, one of Santa Claus' sleigh reindeer. He's adorable (well....not really...), but has an appalling red lightbulb for a nose. Soon, however, it is put to good use, as Rudolph saves his girlfriend and Christmas.

Review: In all movies featuring reindeer, the filmakers deem it nessisary to stick a big poof of human hair between their antlers. This cuteness-enhancing feature looks plain dumb and annoyed me for the whole movie. Anyway, the animation looks like the Looney Toons, the story's been cut and pasted into a stupid mess, the characters are all unappealing (especially the four fairies who semi-narrate) and worst of all, the characters break out in obnoxious song every ten minutes. In short, the only people who will enjoy this film are kids under the age of 6. Get the Rankin/Bass original or the cute sequel, "Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys" instead.

Summary: Rudolph, the birth of Rudy.
Review: The all-new adventures of Rudolph, "the most famous reindeer of all," come vividly to life in a major theatrical musical with lovable animated friends, an all-star cast, and a fresh spin on this famous reindeer character. Laughed at because of his nose, he runs away into the North Pole wilderness, where he meets a gentle polar bear (Bob Newhart.) When his friend Zoey, an attractive young doe, is captured by evil Ice Queen Stormella (Whoopi Goldberg), Rudolph helps Santa (John Goodman) save Christmas. This merry mix of music and magic is destined to become a classic, with eight original songs plus Paul and Linda McCartney's Wonderful Christmastime, and featuring the classic song, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Summary: I've actually never seen this...
Review: This looks stupid, as I'm no kid of 3. I gave it a 2nd star only because Eric Idle is one of the voices. I could care less about the other actors.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A good Family Movie
Review: This movie could have been better when it comes to animation, although the art style was quite nice and had interesting effects it was not very coordinated with the voice-actors. If it weren't for the story and the quality of the actors this movie could well have been nothing more than a failed attempt at raising profits. The story is fairly detailed and the art style in conjunction with the actors gives the film a kind of charm that makes it most entertaining, unfortunatly due to the problems with animation this film justs falls short of greatness and lands somewhere in the area where it could easily be forgotten as "just another Christmas show". Overall this is a wonderful movie for kids and should be missed only by those who believe that animation is everything.
