Review: I really like this movie. It is quite touching and it is not focused around the songs as much as the later movies. A must see for little one's of any age.

Review: This is one of our all time favorite movies. We've been watching an original VHS tape from back in the 80s, given to us by our neighbors, and I finally decided to check and see if it's on DVD. It's a great picture and has great sound, they really fixed it up for DVD! And of course, it's such an adorable story that people of ALL ages will love this movie :)

Summary: A beautifully made, moving film
Review: This is indeed a richly satisfying, well-plotted animated film based on dinosaur life that you can grow up and grow old with. The characters--Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie, and Spike--are quite believable and it holds your undivided interest from beginning to end as they suffer family breakups, develop relationships with each other and make their journey to a place where they and their families will reunite and have plenty of green food and water: the great valley. It moves at just the right pace and doesn't get slow in any spots. The saddest part of the film is when Littlefoot's mother dies from a brutal fight with Sharptooth, the carnivorous villain of this film, but there are a few times when her voice echoes in the wind and sends Littlefoot signs and reminders on how to get to the great valley, which are done so effectively and touchingly. Cera, one of the main travelers, is often very stubborn and stuck-up, and keeps acting as if she really doesn't need help, often betraying the group and trying do do things her own way. That brilliantly distinguishes Cera's character from the other four characters because it offers a mildly unpleasant subplot, yet it doesn't flaw this film's fine material. Lastly, the closing scene, of course, is when the five travelers, including Cera, finally reach the great valley and are reunited with their families. This scene is every bit as satisfying and touching as we hope it would be throughout the entire film, with the characters playing with each other and snuggling up to their families. You won't be disappointed with the closing scene because it is not at all rushed or underdone. It gives us the perfect, loving feeling any happy end should have. What more can I say about this film? If you have a loving heart and deeply understand the meaning of cooperation shared throughout a long journey, please at least rent this film and let it stimulate your emotions the way true movie should.

Summary: A Great Kids Movie
Review: I got this movie about 8 years ago through a McDonald's promotion. I was pleasently surprised by the quality of the animation and story. My son, 4 at the time, loved it and my daughter did also when she was old enough to watch it. My daughter has seen all of the sequels (many times) and, through watching these movies, has developed an interest in dinosuars and evolutionary and environmental science, albeit at a level suitable for an eight year old. It's a rare but good movie that has a lasting, positive affect on a child. The Land Before TIme is one of those rare movies.

Summary: A Classic
Review: This is not strictly a kids movie, as are the sequals. Go ahead and give this one a chance. The story is fairly simple, but it is told in such a grand, heartwarming epic kind of way, that it just pulls me in, and gets me involved.
The script is actually quite good, and the animation is great, it's not overdone, and it steers away from being silly. It's just a great film for the whole family. I reccomend it to all!

Review: I remember watching this movie when i was 6 or so. thirteen years later it still one of my favourite disney movies. i haven't seen past part 3 (sorry the sing alongs...eh) bu part one is definetley my favourite.

Review: This movie is basically about several dino friends who are on a journey to the Great Valley. The movie has several touching parts, but I thought the cutest part was when Littelfoot was born. This movie is not scary for kids, and teaches good lessons on several subjects.

Review: This is the worst movie Don Bluth made. I only like the other Land Before Time movies. I hated the first one. It is not adventurous. I use to like it when I was 7 years old. But now I am 11 yrs old. I hate The first movie. I like the 8th one. I am not getting it on DVD. It will not go on my wishlist. For those who think it is stupid. You are right.

Summary: Best Dino Film Ever!!
Review: This is the story of Littefoot, a "long-neck" who is searching for the Great Valley where the only survivors of his family are rumored to be. Along the way he meets up with Ducky a swimmer, Petrie the flyer, Cera a threehorn, and the ever loving Spike the spike tail. On their way a "sharp tooth" tails them and keeps delaying their adventure. The dino friends learn valuable lessons of teamwork and loyalty and this flick is not a boring, predictable movie like all of its other 7 sequels. It is also they only LBT movie without those annoying songs. It will bring tears to your eyes and keep you on the edge of your seat!

Summary: Was worth the watch for me
Review: I was 6 or 7 when this film came out, and I always watched it with enthusiasm. I loved it when I saw it when 7 (and esp. the end theme song, sung by Diana Ross). I cried during it, laughed, felt happy, felt sad. I disagree with a previous review given, but I also understand that it does have it's share of so called "violence," but when I was seven, it hardly frightened me anymore than a scene from "Fantasia" would have (think of that "Night on Bald Mountain" scene with all those devilish creatures, now that's SCARY!). If you implement in your child's mind that it should be considered violent, then the child will set themself up for that, and in all honestly, I think it's up to the child in my respects. If the child shuns it, then switch it off; if the child is unaffected, leave it on.
But anyway, I love this movie, the soundtrack, and the thoughtfullness of each character and how each grew a little along their journey.
