Summary: Pikachu!
Review: Pokemon is one of the greatest shows for children everywhere to watch. I watched the show, and even though it's aimed for kids in the 2 to 6 age range, I just can't get enough. The sound quality is way better on video than in New Jersey, cause WPIX and my cable company don't transmitt the show in stero! If you can't watch Pokemon, rent the vidoes, and then buy them. {AND IF YOUR LOCAL STATIONS DON'T SHOW POKEMON, CALL AND REQUEST THAT THEY DO!!!}

Summary: Enjoyable series but too expensive
Review: Pokémon is the story about Ash Ketchum and his friends, Misty Williams and Brock Harrison. Ash's goal is to become a Pokémon Master. Misty's goal is to be "the best at everything" but, more specifically, a Water Pokémon Master. Brock's goal is to be the world's best Pokémon breeder. Pokémon are the animals that inhabit their world. They come in many different species (mouse, cat, dog, etc.) and types (electric, grass, water, fire, etc.). Each Pokémon trainer trains his or her Pokémon to battle other Pokémon and win badges to compete in Pokémon Leagues. Ash, Misty, and Brock must deal with Jessie, James, and Meowth of the evil Team Rocket, who want to steal Ash's first Pokémon, Pikachu, and usually other Pokémon as well. This Japanese animation series is an advertisement for the Pokémon video games, and the episodes' plots are usually simple, but this is actually an enjoyable series. Common themes are friendship, not giving up, parting ways with a dear friend, and other good morals. Parents and guardians that are concerned about the violence need not worry. Yes, the kids have their pets fight each other, but they also must learn to take care of and love their pets. Girls will find a strong female role model in Misty. Overall, this is a fun, simple, warm-hearted, rather repetitive series. However, despite how much I like the anime, the DVDs are not worth your money. Each episode is probably less than twenty minutes long, and there are only three episodes on each DVD. You would be paying the price of this DVD for around one hour of Pokémon. That's ridiculous. They don't even include the Japanese vocal tracks with English subtitles or the fun music videos from the TV airings. You can rent these same English-dubbed episodes on VHS. If you really want this series on DVD, my advice to you is to buy the movies and the special, "Mewtwo Returns", and wait for box sets of the series.

Summary: POKEMON EPISODES 4, 5 AND 6
Review: THE MYSTERY OF MOUNT MOON contains episodes 4, 5 and 6. Episode 4 is called Challenge of the Samurai. Ash and Misty are lost deep in the Viridian Forest. They meet a strange-looking warrior who calls himself the samurai.Ash challenges the Samuria. Both fighters' Metapod seem to be putting up a boring battle. So, the battle is cancelled. Then, Ash and Pikachu and Misty and the samurai are attacked by a swarm of Beedrill. They all run off. But Ash's Metapod won't get into its PokeBall. It is mad that Ash abandoned it to save himself from the Beedrill. Then, the Beedrill attack and Metapod evolves! Ash's Butterfree saves our friends and they say goodbye to the samurai and continue on. Episode 5, Showdown in Pewter City. Ash, Misty and Pikachu reach Pewter City. Ash battles the gym leader, Brock but Pikachu gets crushed by Brock's Onix. Ash is shocked and runs off with Pikachu in his arms, sobbing. Then, a weird man tells Ash that he can recharge Pikachu at an abandoned power plant nearby. So, Ash Pikachu and the man go to the Power plant and charge Pikachu by running the electric machines. Ash returns to the Pewter Gym. Brock uses Geodude. Ash uses Pikachu. (This proves that Ash is really stupid because he also has a Butterfree, which is awesome against rock, but he still chooses Pikachu). Geodude loses. Then Brock uses Onix. Pikachu's Thundershock attack starts a fire and sets off the Gym's sprinkler system, eroding Onix's body. Ash goes away because he didn't beat Brock. But Brock insists that Ash take his Boulderbadge. So, Ash takes it and Brock joins Ash and Misty on their journey. Episode 6, Clefairy and the Moon Stone. Our friends reach Mt. Moon and meet Semour, a Pokemon researcher. He gets attacked by a colony of Zubat, but Ash saves him. Then, they find out that Team Rocket wants to steal the Moon Stone from the Clefairy. Ash, Brock, Misty and Semour defeat Team Rocket and save the Clefairy's Moon Stone. That's about it.
