Summary: good for the younger viewers
Review: After the fourth edition of these "Land Before Time" videos was released, I started to wonder why they didn't just make a TV show out of it. Many people will argue that the original is best, and I would have to agree with that too, but enjoying the other videos also depends a lot on age. I agree with another reviewer in that these videos really do work well for children; with the songs and everything, I think the videos from the 2nd one on would probably be almost more enjoyable for the kids. The first one is beautiful--a true classic in animated films--but the other ones are more fun for the kids. The first one speaks to all ages, but the others are very kid-friendly. Recommended for sure if you have children.

Review: Erika is 30 months and she wants to watch this one over and over. She likes the songs. She likes the baby T-Rex hatching from the egg. I sometimes put the songs (DVD) only so she could try singing and not watching too much of it. The only bad side of this video is the red eyes T-Rex, its a little scary for a 2 yrs old make sure a parent is there to watch it the 1st time.

Summary: Shame! Shame!
Review: I can't believe they turned it into a badly animated musical. The first one was so nice...you could tell they worked hard on it. From the second one on (I saw them all when my brother had his phase), it all went downhill. This brings shame to the Land Before Time. And Gabriel Damon.

Review: My almost-three-year-old had been watching these movies for weeks
and I didn't figure out until recently that they have been teaching him bad behavior. First of all, one of the little dinosaurs screams constantly throughout these videos and this teaches little kids to scream just to make noise. The movies are also filled with smart-alec, bratty language that kids watching it will pick up on, like: "See you, wouldn't want to be you", and screaming, "Its not fair!" while stomping their feet. One of the movies has a scene where the kid dinosaurs are going to "Show the grown ups that we aren't babies anymore" by disobeying their parents and venturing into a dangerous swamp that they were told to stay out of.There are so many good children's movies out there that teach good values and behavior. This is not one of them, however, and
as a parent I recommend not bringing it home.

Summary: If you liked the first....
Review: Now living in the Great Valley, Littlefoot and friends come up against a pair of egg-stealing struthiomimids who they are forced to follow into the Mysterious Beyond to rescue a snaffled egg which hatches into a young carnivore. Though this film is entertaining it is often unfunny, and the songs in this one are plain irritating more often than not.

Summary: poor piece of crap
Review: One of my favorite movies is Land Before time. The story is great, the characters are cool, and the sequals...........well, are poor. A sequal might seem like a good idea. But, they were poor. The music on the video is terrible. sounds like my friend who can't sing a note. And the story is horrible. It's not good. Avoid every sequal, if you can help it.

Summary: My daughter and son love the dinosaurs!
Review: Silly movie with singing dinosaurs but it appeals to kids b/c the dinosaurs are baby dinosaurs--toddler like. They love watching them figure out what to do and watch out for one another.
