Summary: Not for sensitive children
Review: I wish I had read some of the other reviews before purchasing. My 4-1/2 year old son and 2-1/2 year old daughter (who both love Thomas and have watched multiple Thomas videos) can't even watch this. My daughter was crying and son had his hands over his ears so he couldn't hear - we can only watch one story and the song from this video. Needless to say, we were disappointed. My children don't watch TV and not many videos so partly I'd say they're not de-sensitized to what's out there - but the bottom line is this is NOT like the other Thomas videos we've seen and I'd recommend trying to view it first before buying if your children are sensitive.

Summary: Thomas in some UNscary stories
Review: Lots of children think this video is scary. Well I think they need to understand the stories are just tall tales (That means the stories are made up). The stories are really cool to me. My favourite stores are probatly "Duncan gets spooked", "Stepney gets lost" & "Rusty & the boulder". I also like "Haunted Henry".
But, did you know that the engine who falls off the bridge in
"Duncan gets spooked" was acctually played by Skarloey? Maybe children will like it when they are between 4 & 5 years.

Summary: Not good for toddlers
Review: My sister likes Thomas The Tank Engine. She is 3 yrs old. I let her watch Thomas as long as she is with me. She doesn't even pay attention and then ended up getting scared of this video. Now she relizes that the boulder makes a thrill on Rusty and Percy, Peter Sam's frieght cars fell into a revine and Duncan gets spooked. She covered her ears so she can't even watch it. She watched one episode in Spills and Chills. She can take a look at the cute little song. She tried to stop the video. I ask her if she can put it away for her. So I should put it away in the shelf until she is 4 or 5 yrs old. Not good for toddlers. She really tried it when she was 2 yrs old.

Summary: A Great Thomas the Train video!
Review: My three year old nephew absolutely love this video. A definite must have for any Thomas fan! New stories, new characters, Great storylines!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Terrible!!!!!!!!!!(4 out of 10)
Review: Okay so I guess the stories one this tape are supposed to be scary like a ghost engine and a unexpected visit to the scrap yard but I think they should just stick to the regular Thomas stories because how could Thomas possibly be scary. Actually, this one was so terrible that I even feel bad giving it one star. The Stories are:

Toby's Dicovery C:
This story starts out all happy when Toby and Sir Topham Hatt are trying to find a lost castle. They also find a mine near the castle and Sir Topham Hatt decides to put the mine back in business. But at night the mine looks very scary at night, at least to Toby it does. Soon enough Toby sees an engine that he thinks is a ghost.

Rusty and the Boulder F:
Okay here are the highlights of the story, I boulder, with a mind of it's own starts rolling around the Island of Sodor, Yawn. This is probably the WORST THOMAS STORY OF ALL TIME!

Duncan Gets Spooked B:
One of the better ones on this video. Duncan's driver and fireman play a trick on him while crossing the old iron bridge. Duncan soon thinks that he sees the ghost engine that fell of the bridge in an old legend.

Stepney Gets Lost F:
Another awful story. Stepney gets lost while going home from a long day of pulling freight cars and, after taking an wrong turn, he finds himself in the scrap yard. His old enimies, Arry and Burt, take him to the incinerator to be turned in to scrap iron. But then Sir Topham Hatt saves Stepney and he is able to go home after all.

Haunted Henry A:
The best one on this video. Edward tells Henry about the ghosts that come out at night one the old railway. Henry refuses to believe Edward, but when he travels on the old railway that same night, he sees something that might be a ghost.

Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday C:
Sir Topham Hatt and his family go on a holiday. But Sir Topham Hatt encounters some problems and his holiday is ruined until Thomas helps him out.

Again, not a very good Thomas video and I wouldn't recommend it.

Summary: Halloween Spooky Tales
Review: One movie your little 5 year old Thomas fan might want to get on Halloween. It is spooky. I think Haunted Henry was the spookiest tale. But it is not that spooky. It is also funny and halirous. I grew up and I still like Thomas The Tank Engine.

Summary: A Great Thomas Video!
Review: Spills and Chills was great! It was funny when Peter Sam and Rusty spook Duncan and it's very fun to watch Boulder chase Rusty, Skarloey and Rheneas down the big hill. This video introduces 6 new characters: Bertram, Arry, Bert, Thumper, Boulder and Tigermauph the Bi-plane. It is a must-have for any Thomas fan. (On this video, my favourite episode is Toby's Discovery)The music video Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining is also on the video at the end.

Summary: Bringing FX to children's videos....
Review: The stories in this video are definitely "creepier" than in others - more suited for Halloween, it seems. And, the crash/smash/blow it up that is so prevalent in most action adventure movies has finally infiltrated the Thomas series. The producer must have been trying to figure out how s/he could bring in special effects in all the stories, and it is a bit tiresome. My 4-yr old isn't as interested in this video as he is in the others in the series. Alec Baldwin makes Sir Topham Hatt sound way too serious all the time, and while he's added a variety of voices to the characters, he's got a limited range. George Carlin was definitely easier to listen to. You can tell these stories were written by TV writers and not by Rev. Awdry. Be prepared to explain to younger children why Boulder has a face sometimes (when Rusty imagines it); and that not all trains fall off their tracks into raging rivers when going over high bridges!

Summary: Spills and Chills and Other Thomas Thrills
Review: Thid is a good video. In this video, Alec Baldwin does a wonderful variety of voices. Even though some moments are sort of scary, it is a good video.
The story stops are:
Toby's Discovery
Rusty and the Boulder
Duncan Gets Spooked
Stepney Gets Lost
Haunted Henry
Sir Topham Hatt's Holiday
The Music Video:"Every Cloud has a Silver Lining"
