Summary: Doesn't get any better than this! Rita fan.
Review: I saw this movie when I was little and became obsessed with it. I would sing the songs on the schoolbus, dance to them, listen to them constantly, sing along in-character. This movie has everything, and I mean everything! It's severely underrated. Rita has always been a personal friend of mine; she reminds me of, well, myself, and I always loved her best. It was a dream of mine in childhood to have a plush Rita, and the day I acquired one was a very happy day indeed, and I even recall the date! But aside from my love for the characters, what's important to know is that this is a must-see animated masterpiece!

Summary: Why isn't this more popular?!?!
Review: I simply adore this movie! Along with "Lady and the Tramp," it's one of the best Disney films. It's basically the story of Oliver Twist told with a cat, some dogs, and a poor man named Fagin. (Only, here Fagin's the good guy and Sykes is bad.) The characters are hilarious; Georgette is a haughty poodle voiced by Bette Midler, Dodger is a cool mix breed voiced by Billy Joel, and other voice talents include Huey Lewis and Ruth Pointer. The songs are fantastic and catchy. My favorite character happens to be Rita, the Afghan, but they're all great. I promise, kids and adults alike will love Oliver & Co.!

Summary: One of my Favorite Disney animated movies.
Review: I still remember when i was 6 years old in 1988 when this movie first came out, saw it twice. then when i was 14, back in 1996 and when this movie was re-issued back into Theaters i fell in love again, it's a really good and entertaining animated comedy about a lost Kitten named " Oliver" who is lost in New York until one day he meets a gang of Dogs and has many adventures in the big-apple facing dangerous Odds like Evil Lawyers, Cars,
Dobermines, and some good Odds like being founded by a Rich Girl.
It's worth owning on DVD and i am still waiting for the DVD release.

One of my favorite Disney Cartoon movies with Great Mouse Detective, Black Cauldron, Atlantis, Hercules, Mulan and Emperor's New Groove.

Summary: Very '80's, but very good!
Review: In the 1980's the Disney studios released a handful of very good animated features, but the one given the most credit is The Little Mermaid. Oliver and company was released a year or so before the Little Mermaid (though many people believe the re-release was the original release, same goes for Great Mouse Detective). This rendition of Oliver Twist replaces the main character with an abandoned Kitten in 1980's New York. The story is pretty simple, but well executed with great songs, and an 80's favorite of mine, Billy Joel, as the canine version of the Artful Dodger. Changing the characters to adorable, modernized animals in my opinion was a great boost to the original story, in making it much easier to stick with without getting bored. I can watch any and all versions of a Christmas Carol without blinking, but it's easier to be picky with Dicken's other works. Disney once again uses it's enormous ability at improving stories and comes out with a very cute and entertaining film well worth owning on DVD. I'm glad to see it's finally being released in this format, and even happier to see that it will be including several of the kind of extras I LOVE getting on Disney DVD's. They're making major improvements compared to their first DVD releases which had NO extras. I'm looking forward to seeing more and more Disney Titles on DVD, especially the classic stuff, and the difficult to find old television stuff that can only be caught on the Disney Channel on ocassion if at all. I only wish they would stop the editing they sometimes do to their classic films because of stupid Political Correctness. Tampering with TV and movie history is equal with book burning!

Summary: Another Great Disney Movie To Add To The Collection!
Review: It's like New York - only in the eyes of Disney! Oliver and Company is Walt Disney's 27th Masterpiece with absoulutly no dissapointments! Maybe it is not like alot of the other Disney movies, but it is sure a good one! The film was released to the theaters in Novemnber of 1988 and came to video 9 years later in 1997. (I wonder why it was released so late?)

The movie is about an abandoned kitten who is experiencing New York alone at first, but then meets Dodger the dog and his group of friends who show him the streets of New York City. Then, Oliver meets Jennifer, who takes him into her home and treats him with care but Oliver is then kidnapped for a ransom!

This film is full of so many different surprises and so much excitement, including some great songs like "Once Upon a Time In New York City" by Huey Lewis and "Perfect Isn't Easy" by Bette Midler! This movie is a "must-have" for any Disney collector! It will be enjoyed by the whole family young and old for sure!
