Summary: Try Harder
Review: We rank this movie 29th out of the 41 Disney Animated movies that we ranked. It was never that well liked compared to the other movies we own. It helped a little that the original actors returned to do the voices.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A good sequal to the first
Review: This is the continuing story of Simba, Nala, Timone and Puumba, along with new characters Kiara, Kovu and Zera.

Kiara is the overprotected heir to the throne of the pridelands. Pretty much more of Simba and Nala's childhood antics. She meets Kovu, chosen to follow in the evil Scar's pawprints. Together, they get into mischief.

Overall, this movie wasn't as good as the first but still lives up to disney's standards. Maybe it was the absence of Mufasa, because Simba seemed like he was trying to hard. Still a good movie for all ages.

Summary: Kids will watch over & over!
Review: Lots of sequels just don't add up to much - this is an exception to that! This is a wonderful movie!-My kids (girls age 5 & 3) and I tend to like this one just as much as the first!
This story tells of Simba & Nala's daughter Kiara and her friendship with Scars named replacement. Obviously Simba has a problem with Kiara befriending the heir of Scar! This movie teaches a lesson about friendship and accepting others just the way they are. This one is worth adding to your video library!

Summary: The Lion King II - The Best Disney Sequel to Date
Review: The Lion King II: Simba's Pride is by far one of the best, if not the best, Disney sequel produced to date. It has sold more copies than any other Disney sequel, and for good reason -- it is a worthy successor to the throne.

The animation is high quality, especially for a direct-to-video sequel. Instead of using hand-drawn characters and computers to color the images, TLK2 was done in traditional cel animation, unlike the original Lion King. This makes the movie even more classic, and easily appreciated not only for its wonderful story, but the artwork involved in creating it.

The story is stunning and picks up basically where TLK left off. Simba and Nala's daughter, Kiara, is being raised to become the future queen. In the meantime, she encounters a cub from a tribe of outsiders named Kovu, and they immediatly become friends. However, both of their families stand in the way of their friendship continuing, and they never see each other again until they are adults - and that's where things really get interesting! Zira, the leader of the outsiders and Scar's mate, is trying to kill Simba, and Kovu figures into the plan. In the end, both tribes clash in all out war. You'll just have to watch to see how the story ends.

Definitely a worthy sequel to the first, get a copy if you can.

Summary: Pretty good but not like the first
Review: Well I totaly loved the first lion king so I wanted to see the 2nd one. While I loved kiaria, simba, and kovoo I didn't think the animation was as good but still I liked all the songs and was very impressed on how they got scars mate to have just as much as anger as Scar had but the realy only problem I had with the story was this.. THEY NEEDED NALA! I loved her in the first she had great spirit and aggression. So they needed her more but I would recommend it. It's good just not as good as the first.

Summary: Solid children's movie--but falls into shadow of Lion King
Review: Three stars--a solid, but unremarkable rating for a movie-sequel that does a decent job at story-telling and music-making, but which sits in the shadow of the much more compelling original Lion King.

Simba's Pride performs as so many of Disney's movies do: it tackles "adult issues" with an accessible, entertaining story that families can enjoy together. The lions have had a terrible division, with one pride being banished from the Pride land to the outer region. Simba has taught the upcoming generation to be wary of these outsiders. They are dangerous, violent--even deadly. Meanwhile, the Queen-Mother of the outsiders has nurtured murderous hatred in her young. She hopes that her stronger, more deserving progeny can regain leadership that was snatched from them. Adult viewers might even catch glimpses of the rivalry between Athens and Sparta, here.

What better way to complicate a bipolar order in the world than by introducing a cross-pride romance (interracial)? Can the love of the young overcome the mistrust of the parents? It's a classic dilemma.

While a decent effort, we can be fairly certain there will not be a Lion King III.

Summary: good but not as good as the first
Review: This is not as good as the first. the story starts with the celebration of kiara's birth. then one morning kiara goes to play in the Pride Lands. she promises Simba that she will not leave the Pride Lands, But Simba doesn't think that she will keep her promise so he sends Timon and Pumbaa to watch her. But they lose her and she runs of into the outlands. there she meets Kovu another young lion cub. But what she doesn't know is that Kovu is Scars hand chosen son. But I don't want to spoil the whole movie. so If you want to find out what happens you should watch the movie yourself.
