Summary: I greatly enjoyed this movie!
Review: The reason I read the book started from reading the "Redwall" series from Brian Jaques. After I finished the first one, I recommended it to my dad. He said it sounded remarkably similar to Watership Down, so I bought it. The book was amazing. After I finished, I went to the public library to see if they had a copy of the movie. They had all of them checked out, so I reserved one. I waited over three weeks for it. I really enjoyed what I saw! I just wished that it could have been longer--81 minutes is a little too short for my liking. The movie was a lot like the book, except that they included very little of El-arairah, the "Bunny God." The gore was a bit in excess, and sometimes the British accents were hard to understand, but that didn't keep the movie from being a real winner! I am a boy in the 6th grade, and I consider Watership Down to be up there with Lord of the Rings and even the Bible as one of the greatest things I have ever read. This makes the movie that much better.

Summary: BigWig and friends have stayed with me for nearly 15 years
Review: I must have been about 10 and my mother wasn't too happy with the violence as I recall, but the images have stayed with me in all that time. It was such a powerful story and so well done despite the violent undertones. I get choked up still! I saw this movie in the store and snapped it up as soon as I saw it, I recognized it immediately even though I hadn't known the title. I enjoy it today as much as I did all those years ago and it was nice finally to fill in all the holes in my memory.

Review: I saw Watership Down when I was really young and it immediatly became a favorite of mine. It appealed to me in a way that Disney films never could. I just recently ordered the movie and watched it for the first time in more than 10 years.It is my favorite animated feature of all time and the story really does appeal to anyone. It can be seen from so many different levels in a different way. The characters are also very well defined and the voice actors are excellent. If you are considering buying Watership Down, I can't recommend it enough. I never read the book, but I'm getting my copy right away! This is a must-have movie for everyone! Just get it and enjoy this enchanting tale. It's not just for kids (it might be a little scary to younger chilidren because of the blood and battle scenes).

Still, this movie is a good introduction to what the book is all about, it has a bit of everything, politics, adventure, spirituality and humor so for Frith's sake see it before you stop running.
