Summary: I promised I would not cry, but I did!
Review: I had never heard of the movie before until my boyfriend brought it home one night for us to watch. He told me I would cry and I promised him I would not. Watching the passion the boy had for these two dogs was amazing and by the end of the movie I was attached to the boy and his dogs and I cried to say the least! For a while after that everytime my boyfriend would just meantion "Where the Red Fern Grows", I would cry. That was in 1991 and we have been married over 6 years now and I have never forgotten that movie. I think it is a classic and all who are tenderhearted should view it. Have lots of tissues on hand when you do.

Summary: This is one of the most horrible movies I have ever seen
Review: I hate it so much I might as well review it. The movie does the book no justice, which in itself isn't exactly that great, but it's all right. Anyway, back to the movie. The acting was just awful, I can't believe they even chose those actors! But they probably had no choice. The scenery and backdrops are pathetic, and did I mention that the acting was just brutal? My English class had to suffer watching this movie for the whole one and a half hours it lasted. There was absolutely no suspense of any sort, no point. Sure the pups were cute, and when they grew up they were magnificent animals, but a pair of dogs aren't going turn around this movie. It's absolutely pathetic. Do yourself a favour and don't watch it, whatever you do. Instead, read the book.

Summary: Doesn't even deserve one star!
Review: I hated it. I read the book in 7th grade and saw the movie right after. I liked the book but hated the movie. They didn't follow the book at all. They changed the names of the dogs. The book came first, so that's not fair. You can't understand any of the characters and they skipped events. If a movie is supposed to be based on a book, it should have the same names and events and basically should follow the book. This movie didn't do that. It actually didn't do anything. The actors and actresses didn't put any effort in and they didn't even try to be good. Nor did the director try to be good. In my opinion, this movie was a low blow to Wilson Rawls, Disney, and the book of Where the Red Fern Grows. If you read the book and like it, I advise you not to see the movie.

Summary: Wonderful Movie a real Tear Jerker!
Review: I remember seeing this film when it was in the theater and I loved it then as I do now. I can't watch this movie without it making me cry. Everyone should see this film. It is a real classic. This film has a permanent place in my video library.

Review: I think this book was 4stars because it was an exciting adventure that you will never forget just like it says on the title. There's fun and exciting parts and even sad and horrifiing parts sometimes you can't put down the book! At the beginning of the book you get really excited and then at the end of the book you get even more excited and sad.

THE END

Summary: Where the Red Fern Grows
Review: I'm 12 years old and in the 7th grade. In my composition class, I was required to read this book and I loved it. But when I watched the movie it stunk. I hated the movie compared to the book. The movie skipped where Little Ann wins the beauty contest. The book has so much detail when I closed my eyes I could see myself there. I think the director should make another movie as similar to the book as he can get it.

Summary: It is a all around good movie
Review: It has a good plot line which it follows very well and close. They make use of all there surroundings and keep you on your toes at all times. This movie has every thing you will laugh, you will cry there are good times there are bad times. In my mind it is an all around good clean fun movie.

Summary: Remarkable!
Review: It was a great movie for anyone who likes animals. The part I liked best was when Billy first got his dogs. I must say they were cute. I have read the book and the movie is true to the book. I also liked "Old Yeller" and "Savage Sam" but I liked "Where the Red Fern Grows" better.

Summary: So good I wish I could give it 10 stars ! - by Damaris
Review: Now after all the movies I saw I have to say that Where the Red Fern Grows was the BEST one.I have never seen anything like it before.I thought the movie was very strong. The movie had a lot of emotional parts in it.I thought the boy who played Billy was the kind of boy who always agreed with his dogs and who never gave up on them. Now I've been reading other people's review of the movie, and most of them wrote that the movie was bad because it was not the same as the book.Well, I thought they were wrong. There might be someone who didn't like the book, so they'd want to see the movie and if it was exactly the same as the book, they want to see the movie! I am Happy the way the movie is.The people who made the movie did a great job.

Summary: ************* EXCELLENT*************
Review: ONE DAY I WAS TOLD THAT WE WERE WATCHING A MOVIE CALLED "WHERE THE RED FRENS GROW" BY WILSON RAWLS. THE MAIN CHARATERS WERE BILLY, OLD DAN, LITTLE ANN. THE WAY I FELT ABOUT THE MOVIE WAS THAT IT WAS OKAY. THE REASON WHY I FELT THIS WAY IS BECAUSE IT BRINGS A LOT OF FEELINGS OUT IN THE OPEN. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT BECAUSE I THINK PEOPLE WOULD LOVE IT.......
