Summary: Loved this movie!
Review: My Dog Skip is a wonderful movie for anyone who is crazy about animals in general, dogs in particular. Frankie (the kid), Moose and Enzo (the JRTs) all did great jobs acting in this film. I know it was based on a true story, but still I was shocked by the one violent scene (be reassured: the dog survives!)--and the ending! The last 5 minutes were viewed through teary eyes. When the mom helped the old dog get onto the kid's bed--well I still get choked up remembering that scene. I don't know how I drove home from the theater; I was crying all the way--I was missing my 2 dogs who are waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge, and I couldn't wait to get home to my current 2 canine companions and give them hugs and kisses and treats. I knew that I would be adding this movie to my video library as soon as it came out on VHS. This is a must see film!

Summary: Great!
Review: I like almost any movie I see. But when a movie touches you like this one it stands out. Although it's one of those dog and the boy movies It is my favorites. Beware though it is a tearjearker if you are a dog love and cry easy. and i did laugh.

Review: I hate to report that about any family movie since there are so few made, however, this film seemed to have taken a cue from the depressing films of 1999 (boys dont cry, american beauty,etc...)The length to which this director went to show human tragedy, albeit a real story, was far beyond what should have been put in a child's movie! This film had my 8 year old girl in tears so many times I must've gotten up to turn it off 5 times! The acting is fine and the syubject material is real, but lets not bill this film as the "feel good family movie" you see in commercials where the cute little dog is driving & doing tricks! It's very misleading! Parents,Skip Skip!

Summary: WOW! A really great DVD!
Review: This is one of the best films i have seen in a long time that is great for children and adults. A MUST SEE! as film and a MUST purchase as a DVD! If there is never a better reason to get a DVD this is the film! As a film, the movie is very well made, the film based on a true story, is very refreshing and heartfelt. Really a nice break from many mindless films today... It has a very great cast-Frankie Munez who is an actor to look out for, the always pretty Diane Lane, and the very good Kevin Bacon. the director should get some-kind of award for a very moving story! As for the DVD-WOW! 2 great commentary tracks-one with the director, the other with Franky Munez and the dog trainer. While most DVD's now have commentary tracks, more and more are getting to be boring, but not this DVD Frankie Munez is very informitive, bright and funny, the director really gives the listner a deeper feel for the film and the book it's based on. the deeleted scenes are also a real gem not to be missed! go and buy this DVD now you will be very thankfull!

Summary: You Have To See This Movie!
Review: This movie was so great. Being a teen,I thought this movie was awesome.Frankie Muniz, and the rest of the cast did a great job! I don't think there is really an age barrier to My Dog Skip. It's perfect for the whole family. It's entertaining and heart warming, and if you've never had a dog it might just make you want to go out and get one as loyal and obedient as Skip was! This would make an excellent Saturday night movie rental. This movie gets kinda intense,so make sure you have some tissues with you!

Summary: Max's review of "My Dog Skip"
Review: WOW, I watched "My Dog Skip" on DVD today and I was crying my eyes out! I won't give away the movie except to say it is a TRULY touching look at an only-child boy and his best friend puppy who opens the boy's life to new horizons.

The movie is very true to life and down to earth. It's not silly like "Bingo" (although I love that movie) or overly-adventurous like "Far From Home: The Adventures of Yellow Dog". Skip is not a hero in the way that Lassie would usually save Timmy's or someone else's life. Rather, the movie is a slice-of-life portrait of the south during WW2, a true story of the friendship that can only develop between a boy and his dog.

Frankie Muniz (as Willie Morris) is resposible for making the movie 100% believable. I identified with his character from the start. Not to mention that Frankie's face was made for the camera!

The cute little pooch who grows up for us in the movie is a huggable little Jack Russell who is as cute as Frankie. And when both of them are together, well, it makes for wonderful scenes and "Kodak moments".

Summary: My dog skip
Review: My Dog Skip is a movie the whole family will enjoy. It is about a boy who wants a dog, but his dad doesn't think he is responsible to take care of a dog. When the boy gets a dog for his birthday it shanges his life. He has more friends and he is now happy. In some parts of this story thier are sad parts, but you will really enjoy it.

Summary: A rare gem of a family film.
Review: I would highly recommend this movie to all. In this day and age of movies filled with sex, violence and the always present mass quantities of special effects, this movie is pure, simple, heartwarming and very well made. My whole family loved it - both children and adults.

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: I saw this movie in a theatre filled with small children. Throughout most of it, you could hear a needle drop; during the last, surprising ten minutes, the entire audience was in loud gasps of sadness and joy -- and trust me, I am not giving anything away. This is one of those rare family movies that move you, inspire you and teach children about things that really matter. The pitch-perfect intensity of Kevin Bacon and Diane Lane as the parents, and especially the winning Franki Muniz in the lead role, bring to life the small-town adventures of a boy who doesn't quite fit in. For anyone who ever loved a dog, this movie will have a tremendously powerful effect on you; for those of you who think pets are for the birds, this movie will probably make you reconsider. For everyone, My Dog Skip will delight you, and will move you deep within your heart...it is about life's wonders: growing up, learning to love, letting go. I can't wait to own this.
