Summary: Really Good
Review: This is a good whole family movie...Although, I will warn you if you havent seen it before, it is a tear jurker.

Summary: The kids are finally QUIET!
Review: My husband and I have a five year old and two 3 year olds and we have finally found a movie that will keep the kids entertained while at the same time keeping us entertained.

This movie is one of the BEST Disney movies I have had the pleasure of owning. We've watched this movie once in the theatre and several times since we bought it and we are not sick of it yet, in fact it gets funnier everytime we watch it.

I highly recommend this movie to those with kids and without.

Summary: Formulaic story, but otherwise fantastic
Review: Though animated, Ice Age is the kind of movie that adults can easily sit through and enjoy. Without going into detail about the storyline, the animation was simply fantastic -- brilliantly done. Ice Age is worth owning for this reason alone. The characters were also quite enjoyable and the movie can even be used as an educational tool for teaching kids about the various paleolithic critters that are the main characters.

And fortunately, (as is not always the case with "kids" movies coming out of Hollyweird these days) there was nothing sexually suggestive or obscene in the film and "poopy" humor was kept to a minimum. Ice Age is quite suitable for children. The extras on the DVD were also well appreciated, particularly the two animated shorts that were included.

Summary: Does its job in entertaining kids and adults
Review: Ice Age continues the recent tradition of creating animated films for both children and adults. While not perfect, it is full of laughs and beautiful computer animation.

The story of a group of animals during the ice age who find a human child and bring it back to the human settlement seems to be an afterthought in the film. It's obvious that the characters and environment were developed first and the film makers then searched for a story to fit them. But that's no big deal, because the characters are what really drive this film. Most notable is John Leguizamo's voiced Sid, a hilariously clumsy and simple minded sloth. While the mammoth (Ray Romano) and saber toothed tiger (Denis Leary) are also entertaining, the other show stopper is the non-speaking squirrel Scrat. Unfortunately he never really becomes a part of the group and only occasionally meets up with the others, limiting his antics. But they're still a blast to see.

The animation, while nice to look at, isn't quite as stunning as other recent developments such as Monster's Inc. But it more then suffices here, creating beautiful landscapes of the ice age.

Still, the humor is truly what carries this movie. While this won't go down in the books as a computer animated classic such as Toy Story, it does provide some solid entertainment for children and adults alike.

Summary: A Great Animation
Review: This movie was quite good. It was very funny but the thing that i thought was outstanding was the animations. It looked very cool. It is amazing to see how far animations have come since the Lion King. Although the plot was a lot similar to Monsters Inc. it was very cute and good for the whole family. It is a good movie to own.

Summary: Absolutely Wonderful!
Review: Yes this one is indeed absolutely wonderful. Regardless of age, there is something funny, deep, and just entertaining for everyone. With all the morality of a classic Disney effort, the great Pixar effects, and a story line the equal of Lion King, this is worth seeing, renting, buying......you can enjoy it over and over again. The DVD and VHS versions both include the opening short "Nutty" which is thoroughly funny and worth the cost, even if you already saw the film at a theater.

Summary: Hilarious movie!!!
Review: This movie is awsome!! It is hilarious and keeps little kids laughing through out the whole movie. I myself loved this movie and so did my parents. In fact, it keeps people of all ages laughing. 5 stars is a huge understatement.

Summary: Better than I was expecting but....
Review: Those looking for a warm, amusing family film, will find it with ICE AGE and the DVD is packed with extras, games and more to keep the young ones entertained a long time. The short is fast paced and silly.

The film does indeed borrow it's structure and a few ideas from the near-classic Western Three Godfathers as noted above. The voice work of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo (whose becoming as annoying as Gilbert Gottfried). and Denis Leary who does very little Leary schtick, is all quite good. Sometimes the music
got on my nerves, though.

The animation look is different and simpler than Bug's Life, Toy Story and Monsters Inc.

For nearly an hour I was surprised with how much fun I was having watching the film with the kids. It was much better than I was expecting. However interesting variations, character development, and fresh jokes nearly stop and there's two long
'action' sequences in the film's last 25 minutes which involve lots of sliding. The first time is was okay, the second time it was not. It felt to me like lazy script-writing.

Not quite a satisfying enough winner for adults but kids should love it.

4 stars for kids 12 and under... 3 stars for anyone above.

Summary: Well worth the price!
Review: As you know i'm not usually kind to anything that is computer generated but i am to this one. The film is great!!! Sort of a Jungle Book type of story with it's humor, sensative, a tear or two and a moral lesson at the end. The original music is also very good and the choices for character voices was excellent. The DVD has alot of great extras that will help keep the kids out of your hair. (me personally can't stand kids, don't have any and don't want any but i digress). This is a great movie for ALL ages and is just plain fun. You will not be disappointed.

Summary: Friendships & Hardships
Review: The Ice Age is arriving and the animals are scurrying to journey south toward warmer climate. Sid, a lazy sloth, oversleeps and realizes that he has been left behind by all the others animals. Through a violent incident he bumps into the mammoth Manfred whom he stalks until they come across a woman laying with her son on the cold river shore. She has recently escaped an attack by a pack of saber-toothed tigers. Sid and Manfred decide to help the little boy to human village. On the way they encounter Diego, a saber-tooth, who is guiding them to the human village. Ice Age is a film about friendships and hardships that entertains and teaches.
