Summary: Got progressive-scan DVD? This is eye candy...
Review: The visual detail of this movie is spectacular when viewed using progressive-scan on an HDTV. It is, hands down, the most impressive looking DVD i've seen on my new TV so far. I can watch Scrat for hours.

Summary: TONS of Extras, Great Movie!
Review: When I bought this movie I had already seen it in theaters, I just wanted to have it at home to watch when I was bored. I bought this knowing it was a very funny movie no matter what age you are. I didn't really look at the case before buying, I just bought it. I was VERY surprized to see there was another disk in the DVD case. The first disk includes the movie in widescreen and fullscreen modes, as well as Dolby 5.1 sound. The video quality is absolutly great, even on my Mac monitor it looks GREAT. The sound is very good with the 5.1 and during some scenes you will feel surrounded. The second disk is a GREAT extra disk. It comes with all the usual stuff (making of, art, ect.) but also includes a hilarious short movie about a character from the full length movie named "Scratch". I give this DVD 5 solid stars.

Summary: Ice Age....
Review: I went to see this movie at the cinema with some very-special loved ones. Although it wasn't my pick of which one to see, I walked out loving this movie. It's been few and far between in movies that I laughed this hard but this movie is hilarious and, yet, endearing as well. So, I anxiously awaited it's arrival on DVD and, once it came out,I purchased it. What can I say about the DVD of Ice Age? Well, not only do you get the full screen and wide screen versions of this movie, you get alot of extra bonus features such as "Scrat's Missing Adventure",Behind the scenes of Ice Age Special, 6 deleted scenes&production featurettes,"The Making of Ice Age",Scrat's Mini-promo shots, the animated film: "Bunny", and a lot lot more.
This is one movie on DVD that I highly recommend to all.
I'm hoping Blue Sky plans a sequel. I absolutely loved this movie

Summary: OK, but not on par with Shrek or Lilo
Review: I hate to gripe about the characters' motivations in an animated movie, but I'm going to do it anyhow. None of the three protagonists had a motive that made any clear sense, and that really made it hard for me to enjoy the movie. I didn't like the main characters, and I had no idea why they were risking their lives to help a human foundling.

The real pity is that the trailers for the movie made it look far more engaging and exciting than it turned out to be. Most of the film consists of the characters walking across an endless arctic terrain insulting each other. *sigh*...I had hoped for more.

Summary: I Hate Raymond
Review: The animation is awful. The story is boring and predictable. Worst of all is the casting of Raymond as the mammoth. They should have gotten the big dude who plays his brother on the tv show. He probably would have worked cheaper, too.

Summary: Juvenile, shallow, and very predictible
Review: The plot was typical and predictible from the start.

The 3 main characters all "cop an attitude" in a major way. They are juvenile, rude, arrogant, and shallow. However, the characters inexplicibly risk their lives at points for each other, but it is not clear why. Although they say it is "how one behaves in a pack", one is left guessing why they are looking out for one another at all, considering their apparent selfishness and rudeness. It seemed to me that the acts were spur of the moment insticts to protect their buddies.

The movie does not have a truly virtuous character. The only character I liked was Scrat, who wasn't really a character so much as comic interlude - much needed as the other attempts at humor were uninspired (examples: poop on your head, clumsy characters falling off cliffs, sight gags, characters who won't shut up, the usual parodies of popular films, etc.).

It also had the all-too-typical "don't kill animals" message. What I'd like to know is what the tiger was supposed to eat.

What did I like? Some of the animation, and the Scrat scenes. Unfortunately, a lot of the animation was primitive, with many cheats being obvious (lack of motion blur in places, primitive motion of the adult humans, a terrible job with the tiger's mouth). But much of the animation was state-of-the-art, and some was quite impressive - Scrat and the sloth were well done, and the ice slide was nice animation even though it wasn't nearly as gripping as similar scenes in earlier movies.

Summary: This one is a keeper
Review: This adorable animation has all the elements. I cried and laughed through the whole show. I bought this movie for all my grandchildren. I loved the expressions on the threesome's faces, especially the eyes on Manfred. The baby is adorable. I think there are many lessons this movie teaches along with being very entertaining.

Summary: Hilariously Funny
Review: From beginning to end - what a wonder animated feature - even if it was computer animated. The story line is humorous, while at the same time showing young children that you can be friends with anyone that is different as long as you try to understand them. The ending is very touching and brings a tear to the eye and a smile on the face. I found that the best part of this movie is the little prehistoric squirrel. What a cute little fella. Ha, ha!!!! If you don't believe me - rent it and see - but if I was you 'just cut out the middle man and buy it any way'. After all, that's what you're going to do any how.
