Summary: ADORABLE
Review: Owen has had to move around all of his life. He is a loner and desperately wants a dog for a friend. He works hard walking the neighborhood dogs to show responsibility. Finally his parents give in and Owen goes to the pound to chose his dog. However, he finds that Hubble, the name he gives him, is not the normal dog. He has been sent here from the dog star Sirius to check on the status of the dogs on planet earth. After all, they should be ruling man, not being his best friend.
Due to an unexpected happening Owen is able to understand what Hubble is saying, along with all the other dogs that have been in his charge. It's a giggle a minute as the dogs voice what we as humans have only imagined they might say, your children will love it.
There is a problem though, The Greater Dane is coming to earth to see how well the dogs are ruling man. What will happen when she finds out this is not the case?
"Good Boy" is a happy lighthearted movie that is great family entertainment. Although it maybe a bit predictable, it will still leave you with a smile and a good feeling inside. I recommend it.

Summary: Not TOO, TOO Good, Boy.
Review: Reminiscences of BABE are recalled in this charming family film. A dog from outer space (wonderfully voiced by Matthew Broderick) comes to earth to make sure that the dogs are in control of things. A lonely little boy (played quite well by Liam Aiken) adopts this dog from the pound and soon becomes able to hear what his new pet is saying, but also all the other dogs he has been walking. The dogs are delightful and the process in which they speak is well done; they really look like they are talking! Director John Hoffman keeps the saccharine level fairly low and the movie can't help but make you smile, chuckle, and delight in these canine antics. Molly Shannon and Kevin Nealon are the parents, but their roles are obligatory parental figures. Shannon is particularly annoying as the real estate mother. The whole thing is pretty predictable and standard, but I found it delightful and would recommend it for family viewing...there are some lessons hidden in the fluff.

Review: So cute! So funny! And the DOGS are plain delightful. After sitting thru HORRIBLE kids' films - like Scooby DON'T - I was worried I wasn't going to like this. BOY was I wrong. The kid is great. The story is fun. Molly Shannon was quirky and sweet. The guy from Scrubs - too cute. Almost the ENTIRE cast is FAMOUS! TV and Movie Stars!! How often can you say that! Even that Dog Catcher is the same guy that's on MADtv, right? (The out-takes of him in the dogpound made me and my kids LAUGH like crazy! Too bad they got cut from the film... they are a riot.) I wish this movie got more attention when it came out. Too often we parents don't have a choice but to sit through crude and tasteless humor. This film does what Disney films used to do when WE were kids! 5 stars! Over and OVER again!

Summary: Earth needs dogs
Review: Think that the world's going to the dogs? Some people wouldn't have a problem with that ' especially a young boy named Owen who seems to know everything there is to know about man's best friend. Living in one of those idyllic towns that exist only on the Disney Channel (actually in British Columbia), Owen gets in touch with his inner canine by walking everybody else's dog, and counting down the days until his parent will let him adopt a dog of his own. When he gets his chance, he adopts an enigmatic little dog that turns out to be from outer space. Owen thinks the dog is strange but otherwise just another dog, and names him Hubble (I guess he's also an astronomy buff). Hubble's world, we learn, first colonized Earth centuries ago and, as far as they're concerned, they are the ones who are supposed to be in charge. When Owen catches Hubble in the act of communicating with the home planet, Owen suddenly (and accidentally) becomes capable of being able to speak and understand his new dog ' and just about all dogs. He also learns that Hubble's mission is critical ' should the homeworld prove unhappy with the progress of the Earth dogs, they will begin a 'global-recall' of all dogs. At first, the earth dogs feel that they're safe that they'll pass the test ' after all, if they didn't run Earth, then why is man picking up after them? Hubble isn't impressed ' You're pets! he tells them accusingly. When Hubble learns that his ruler ' the 'Greater Dane' herself is enroute to Earth, the situation becomes even more desperate. Though looking down on Owen at first, Hubble and the boy join forces to bring the dogs of Earth up to speed.This was a rather slim flick ' like a Disney Channel movie that you'll pay $7.50 to see. 'Good Boy' has a rather simple idea ' 'Earth Needs Dogs'. They're our pets, but we need them all the same (a point the flicks makes rather pointedly in a touching montage as the dogs face the prospect of global recall). The laughs aren't fierce even though Owen's parents are played by SNL alums Kevin Nealon and Molly Shannon and one of the dogs is voiced by Rob Reiner. The voices are actually a bit anonymous (it's hard to connect the neurotic dog with the voice of Brittany Murphy). Still, if it's a flick that won't rock your world, your kids will still love it. My 6 year older loved it, and she can't even stand dogs.

Review: This was a really a cute movie that I enjoyed (age 58), as well as my 10 yr old grandson! Lots of belly laughs throughout, and a clever story. As a family movie I rate it 5 star.

Summary: A Great Movie For The Little Ones...
Review: Well, my kids really enjoy this movie. They can actually sit through the whole movie & they are only 2 & 3 1/2. I don't want to make too many comments for the adults because I'm sure most adults aren't going to buy this just for themselves. I wouldn't recommend that but if you were looking for a movie to please your kids then I'd highly recommend this movie. I think all kids up to the age of 8 or so would enjoy this movie. Basically the story is that this little boy all of a sudden finds that he can hear everything that dogs say. Supposedly there is a planet out there made of up all dogs & Hubble the boy's dog has just been sent from there to grade the dogs on earth. So, like I said this is a movie I'd recommend for kids but adults might think it's a little far-fetched.
