Peace Out.

Summary: Fascinating, just wanted it to go on & on!!
Review: My Husband and I loved it! We read all four novels. Looking forward to the fifth. When the movie came out on DVD we bought it instantly! And have watched it numerous times. The movie is just like the book. We only wished it didn't end there. Leaves you wanting to see more. The characters are true to form. Graphics are fabulous. The next question is, "When does the sequel come out on DVD?!"

Summary: One craze that makes no sense to me
Review: My nephew has this and I can't for the life of me understand this craze. The film isn't as good as Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, or even Bedknobs and Broomsticks, for that matter.

Summary: Not bad, but nowhere near as good as The Lord of the Rings!
Review: Okay, I have to admit, I have never read any of the Harry Potter books and the only reason why I agreed to see this movie was for my niece who is a huge fan of the books. Now while the film has some nifty special effects, the storyline is too slow and the film is aimed for a smaller audience. I wasn't a fan of the books and this film won't make me buy one anytime soon. If your children must see this video then watch it only if the books are interesting for you. If you havn't read any of the books, simply let your children watch it while you pick up a good book to read, like The Lord of the Rings!

Summary: Stunning...lives up to the book and than some!
Review: In this enchanting film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's delightful bestseller, Harry Potter learns on his 11th birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and posseses magical powers of his own. At Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry embarks on the adventure of a lifetime. He learns the high-flying sport Quidditch and plays a thrilling game with living chess pieces on his way to face a Dark Wizard bent on destroying him. For the most extraordinary adventure, see you on Platform 9 3/4!

Summary: A thumping good movie, if I do say so myself.
Review: At first, I initially had my doubts and reservations about this film. Mostly because I didn't understand the hype or the craze that was Harry Potter, I thought it was just another stupid fad, like Pokemon or something. When I heard about the film, I almost went nuts, because I thought this was getting out of control. But then, I watched the interviews with the cast, and I thought to myself 'Hmmm, maybe I should give this film a chance, and check it out.' Being that I had never read the books, I went into this film completely fresh, without any expectations whatsoever. And boy I was NOT disappointed at all with this film. Everything about this film was great, the storyline, the acting, and the special fx. everything was just on point, this was a thoroughly enjoyable film. Daniel Radcliffe is the perfect Harry Potter, I couldn't possibly picture anyone else in that role. The DVD extras are wonderful, and I'm looking forward to the next film 'Chamber of Secrets'. This is definitely a film for the whole family.

Summary: Great Movie w/ Lots of DVD Extras
Review: This first Harry Potter film is among one of my favorites and the DVD itself is superb. Any blockbuster movie in a widescreen DVD format along with lots of extras is perfect, trust me! There's not much sense in me to review the movie, since you've all gotten enough of that. What can I add? Well, it's just that I am VERY happy this DVD purchase and I have not regret one bit. It's one of those favorites that will remain in my collection for a long time. Oh yes, there's is just one little complaint. I was disappointed that the DVDs came in a box package. I wish it came in a sturdier, plastic case, like the LOTR one. Hehe :)

Summary: Simply a great movie
Review: I've never read any of J.K. Rowlings books, but if this movie is true to them, then I can recommend them. Because this movie is awesome. I admit I had avoided it for some time thinking it was a kids movie, but when I finally did see it, I found myself realizing it's really a "family" movie, something for every generation.

Harry Potter is an orphan living in a cupboard under the stairs of his aunt and uncle and their pain-in-the-butt son. It's obvious these people don't like Harry much, and it's about to be found out why. Harry is the son of two very powerful wizards, making him a very powerful wizard as well. And he's about to be called off to magic school for the first of many adventures.

The story is crisp, the acting is well done, and the special effects are sharp (although they carry the story without dominating it). One of my favorite unsung British actors, Robbie Coltrane (Nuns on the Run), is hilarious (and nearly unrecognizable) as the giant Hagrid. Another favorite, Alan Rickman, turns in a good performance but not his best (that would be the Sherrif of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Theives, followed closely by his turn in Galaxy Quest).

There has been a lot of concern about the use of magic being presented to children through works like Harry Potter (mostly by fundamentalist Christian groups), but I assure you, Harry Potter is presented on such a fantasy level, I seriously doubt anyone would ever believe that Hogwarts really exists. However, the fantasy is so well crafted that for the length of the movie, it does exist.

And for the record, J.K. Rowling did sit in on the production and said she was very much impressed with how the producers were able to capture her vision of Harry Potter and the denizens of Hogwarts.

Frankly, I'm looking forward to the next movie, and the one after that.

Summary: Better Than The Book!
Review: "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", is a great movie why no wonder Chris Columbus (who is the director of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"), wanted to direct this movie. I also like the cast: Daniel Radclife, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, John Cleese, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Richard Griffiths, Richard Harris, Ian Hart, John Hurt, Alan Rickman, Fiona Shaw, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters. There is going to be a "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," and "Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban". I don't know if there is going to be a "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", but I hope there will be one very soon, ansd so I give it a (5 out of 5).
